Terrible customer service!!! Showed up for my 4:15pm 3/24/21 appointment to be told they had NO 1 bedrooms available. Not sure how that happened overnight when the NEW lady confirmed with her supervisor!!! Actually I received a 2nd call to ask me what I was looking for before my appointment. Seems like they were trying to rent me a 2 bedroom just selfish and definitely wasted my time which the lady didn't care!

My experience here at The Lofts at Southside was amazing when I first moved here back in 2015. But within the last year it has been a pretty bad experience. Mainly due to Management! Whenever I need something done they never make it a priority and are extremely passive with their response. Its completely frustrating especially when you pay so much to live out here! Management is not accommodating nor welcoming.

It is PARADISE-ON-EARTH to me and the staff/management are great too,as-is the recreational things to do and the neighbors for the most part get along and look out for each other,espec those of us whom are disabled and Wellness City @ Recovery Innovations is a free recovery "haven/classroom/family HOUSE" across the street which i voluntarily go for all my P.S.R. classes,D.B.T./D.B.S. classes,W.R.A.P. graduation classes to be a peer support specialist,life living and social skills training plus a link-up with personal 1-on-1 p.s.s. counseling by our certified peer s.s. who work and run it,but all

Income-based so you get what you pay for as far as privilege to amenities. I've been staying here for the past two and a half years on the lower tier income bracket and I don't feel welcomed. Neighborhood is insidious, office staff is authoritarian, etc. Lofts is a part of "targeted housing" --Durhams way of gentrification. That should tell you EVERYTHING. There are people paying as little as $150 a month (all low income) mixed with people paying $1200 (mostly white duke students) so there is a disparity of class. It has been a place live if you are poor and nothing else.

Poor management. The units had a pest problem it took the complex weeks to fix it. The maintenence is shoddy at best. The "new appliances" broke down frequently. The office does not accept packages so if you have large packages they will be left at your door and probably stolen. The electric bill was 3 times more than any other place I had ever lived. For 1290.00 a month you can do a lot better than this cesspool.

UPDATE: I NEVER RECEIVED A REFUND OF MY SECURITY DEPOSIT.
I left my apartment in April of 2016 and it is now August and I still have NOT receive my security deposit. Management blames it on INSUFFICIENT FUNDS in their account. My lawyer sent a letter to Southside Revitalization Phase I LP By its registered agent, CT Corporation System and we NEVER EVEN GOT A RESPONSE. They don't seem to care about their residents at all, if they did they would not mishandle funds and return to people their hard earned money.
Plus side:The apartments are large and energy efficient. The rooms are very spacious

Pretty new units, very spacious rooms and bathooms, gated off parking lot, inexpensive rent. Office staff is extremely friendly, and gets to know you by name.
Package deliveries is a hassle now, that is the only thing they need to work on. The USPS has access to the buildings, but others do not, making it very difficult to receive packages conveniently.
