This place was great up until 2 months ago when their fire alarms started ringing. One was in the afternoon lasting ~1 hr and the most recent one yesterday at 4AM in the morning until 6AM. The apartment did NOT even bother to update the residents as to what is going on, and I had to call 911 to find out that their alarm system was not a true fire alarm but was in fact defective. This is a HUGE RED FLAG and Trinity Commons should do everything to fix this problem.
Another huge problem is their cockroach infestation. Roaches as long as your finger can be seen crawling around the hallways.

Moving to a new state is intimidating but Trinity Commons has made it easy. The apartment is spacious and like new, the gym is the best I’ve ever seen in an apartment complex, and most of all the staff are amazing. The leasing office goes above and beyond with community events and A.J. in particular makes a point to get to know you and make you feel taken care of. Highly recommend for those new to Durham/Duke!

Fire alarm went off at 4AM and did not stop until 2 hours later. Same issue has been happening this whole year every 1-3 months (it has been good for awhile). I will be contacting the local news about this incredibly annoying issue.

My previous comments still stand about the staff, they really are wonderful. But the fire alarms are just out of control. They aren't normal apartment alarms either, they are insanely loud with flashing lights and they go off ALL the time. They do annual inspections required by the city of Durham where the alarms go off nonstop from 9-5 for two days. What's interesting is that my friends in the neighboring apartment complexes don't have this requirement, and when they rarely do get their fire alarm tested they say it just goes off once in their apartment and is over with soon. Living in Trinity Commons have been such a treat! The management team are super friendly (Andrea, Lizet, Holly, Lexi) runs lots of activities every month and the amenities here are wonderful! The gym is fully equipped, there's a spa, sauna, and swimming pool. There's also a game room with a pool table. They let you have pets and, recently, our cat found a hole underneath our L-shaped kitchen bench (in the dead space) and AJ and Jeremy (the awesome maintenance guys) came in and saved the day (and the cat!). So if you're looking not just a place to stay but a community to live in, come join us at

Great community, love here. Just sometimes the trash could not be collected in time, causing a lot of trouble. Also there’s a tree right in front of my window, so there’s not much sunlight.. it’s pretty annoying.

Without a doubt the best apartment complex I've ever lived in. The staff is incredible. The amenities are amazing and the location was awesome. It speaks volumes that even 2 years after moving out (I bought a home), I'm still talking about them. Keep it up Trinity. You guys ROCK!

I absolutely loved living at Trinity Commons! The staff are all wonderful, from those working in the office to maintenance. I have never met a nice group of people. My apartment was absolutely gorgeous and the location was incredibly convenient for Duke students. The modern design, amenities, and social events put on for residents were all bonuses. Thanks so much, TC!

The property is clean, attractive and well managed. Lizet, one of the leasing agents is so wonderful to work with. The staff are very accommodating and welcoming. After moving in we had a few maintenance items that were taken care of the next day.
So convenient to Duke University. Love this apartment!

It's been a week since I moved in. Most things have been smooth and the staff are very friendly. They spent half an hour introducing me to the community and helping me get familiar with the neighborhood. I appreciate that they helped me collect my pre move-in packages multiple times before I arrived and put them in my apartment. Also, I was surprised that they have been working in the leasing office physically despite the COVID-19 situation. The apartment was thoroughly cleaned before I moved in. I'm also satisfied with amenities provided in the apartment. So far all positive experience

I chose to live in this community because it offered amenities that no other apartment complexes in the area offer, like a hot tub and steam room. Unfortunately the management of Trinity Commons has not maintained these amenities. In the first 6 months of my lease, the hot tub and steam room have been out of order for 3 months. I submitted a maintenance request in November to highlight the issue, however nothing has been done. It's now February. We pay a portion of our rent to maintain these amenities, and due to the mismanagement of the property we are losing value each month that these amenities

Trinity Commons is PERFECT! The building is walking distance to campus (which saves a lot of money and hassle on parking), its safe and clean, the apartments are beautiful, and there are fantastic amenities. Everyone in the office is super helpful - I look forward to seeing them every day. Sara and Liz made the move-in process seamless and truly made me and my family feel right at home!

My two dogs and I recently joined my fiancé at Trinity and we absolutely love it!

Initially, I was nervous about the prospect of moving from a house with a fenced-in yard to an apartment, but those reservations quickly dissipated. The staff here treats the residents and their furbabies like family.

After the stress of managing a house as a graduate student, I feel much more at ease having a responsive staff available (special shoutout to Sara!) if and when anything needs attention.

In terms of the amenities, I personally love the pool area, dog run, sauna, and fitness center. Not to mention

My favorite thing about living in Trinity is the staff! Emri, Andrea, and Sara are extremely helpful and really go above and beyond to make sure that any requests we have are completed. They are also always going out of their way to improve the building community. For example if it is a really hot day, they will have an ice cream party in the lobby. Most recently, they have started to do an exercise class every Wednesday evening. It is at a perfect time, and it is always a different class which makes it fun! I also just enjoy chatting with them on my way to and from school :) It is a lovely, quiet

My Fiancé and I moved to Trinity Commons in July 2018. The staff in the lobby (Andrea, Emri, and Sara) have been so very helpful in helping up solve any questions, comments, or concerns we have had. They are bubbly, energetic and always smiling! I don't know what we would do without their help. The property is located right next to Duke University Hospital (6-8 minute walk) which is very useful since we both work there. The gym is great, pool area is outstanding in the summer, and the courtyard with grills is a great place to hang and watch the game. We also enjoy to use the community room

Pros:
1) Walking distance to the Duke medical complex
2) Nice amenities
3) Responsive and effective maintenance team
4) The leasing office is well staffed with nice, helpful people.

Cons:
1) Annoying, yapping dogs barking all day and all night is a feature of this dog-friendly building
2) There is no enforcement of the no-smoking rules. People smoke cigarettes and pot all over in this complex and nothing is done about it. The leasing office told me that they can't do anything unless they can catch the people in the act. Good luck with that.
3) You will hear your neighbors' music through

I have lived at Trinity Commons for 2 years now and really enjoyed the location (you can walk to anywhere on Duke's West Campus), amenities and my 1 bed apartment.

When I first moved in I felt that the management was great, customer service oriented and really went out of their way to be helpful! For example, they would leave wine out for us on Fridays after work and go out of their way to help us retrieve packages, show us how not to get lost in the building and make spare keys and parking passes as needed.

However with the new management that started this past summer it no longer feels

My rating is a mix from before and now. This place used to be great, and certainly I would say physically it still is. The apartments are nice, if on the small side for the price for Durham. Excellent and varied amenities, and all fairly well kept up. There used to be trouble with noise, especially from late parties, but improved security fixed that fairly well (though it does still happen).

However, in the last 6 months the personnel and service has had such a dramatic decline in performance that I am legitimately considering breaking my lease (after being a loyal tenant for over 3 years

I am Duke Masters Student who lived here from July 2015- April 2016.

a) there are much better priced apartments nearby.

b) the treadmills that you see. (about half of them remain broken). I know that for about three months straight, there was no repair on the middle 2-3 treadmills.

c) they charged me $200 for no reason when the lease ended. I requested explanation. this was the reply-:
"We are still researching this matter. Will be in touch shortly.
Thank you for your patience,

I emailed them repeatedly, telephoned them but they did not reply back

I lived here for two years during residency (June 2014-June 2016). Being a surgical resident is an uncomfortable experience at best, and having a lush, spacious, affordable apartment to retire to at the end of a long day is tremendously valuable. The apartments are new, clean, and well-appointed with nice fixtures and good-quality appliances. I lived in what is referred to as a "studio" but is functionally a one-bedroom apartment (dubbed a studio simply because the bedroom area, which is totally separate from the rest of the apartment, has no window), and it was more than enough space

Moved in: 8/4/2011 Moved out: 1/13/16

I have lived here a little more than 4 yrs. I moved in when it was still under construction. From 8/2011 - to 6/2012 I lived in a one bedroom + den facing downing st. My apartment was closer to the backside of dunkin donuts and I was on the 2nd floor.

I think in order to optimize your experience at Trinity, finding the right apartment location within the building is key. I had several friends also reside in this building and noise was definitely different if you lived in other areas of the building. Me and another friend lived on the Downing Street side
