I loved living here during my clinical rotation at Duke. Although I wasn't here long, I enjoyed all of the conveniences of being close to Duke, and grocery stores, having the gym, being able to study and have coffee in the clubhouse. Also any maintenance was addressed quickly plus Mr John the maintenance guy is the best!

I really enjoyed my stay with the Belmont during my post grad program. I was here for a year and felt connected knowing others that lived here from school and having a 24 hr gym and lake trail to go without having a gym membership and being close enough for the shuttle to pick me up everyday at the LaSalle Loop. The apartments have old appliances and things can go wrong but they get fixed quickly. They have a lot of space perfect if you have roommates and storage.

I have been to the Belmont for a short time but my stay was memorable. I was transitioning between jobs and homes. The leasing team has become like family to me. The maintenance team is FANTASTIC and like no other. Every one takes care and attention to your concerns. I truly wish to have extended my stay. Hopefully I can return and visit my community. I will always feel a part of this community.

I was really disappointed during my time at the Belmont. Here are a few list of cons to consider if you're deciding on moving there.

Cons:
- Robberies: There were multiple robberies, including someone who was held up at gunpoint. The general safety in this apartment and surrounding apartments is questionable.

- Security: The entry way gate was constantly under repair. This contributed to open access for any type of rando to walk into the property. Also, two other large gates on the property were always closed which is a major safety issue. Essentially there was one way in and out of the

The year before I moved into Belmont Apartments there were multiple robberies and thefts. I was unaware of this before moving there or else I would have searched for other housing. Some of these incidents included residents being held at gun point. I strongly believe Belmont could have implemented better security measures to prevent this from happening. The entry and exit gates are in a constant state of repair. There has never been a permanent fix in the two years that I lived there. This potentially allowed for criminals to access the property.
When I was living at Belmont, I emailed the leasing

I stayed here with my roommate. I would recommend The Belmont to anyone who is going to Duke because it's so close. The lake, security and pool make it one of the best in the location.

We lived here for a year, and we loved it. The place is beautiful, the team is super kind and responsive, and the community was great. Totally recommend living by the lake, the view was very nice. Also, the place is really close to Duke campus, so really convenient if you are studying or working there. There is a Harris Teeter and a Walsgreen 5 blocks away, so you are also well connected in that sense.

I really regret that I renewed the lease this year. I didn't know that the Belmont takes advantage of old customers like this.
My roommate and I didn't move out this year not because how good the Belmont is, but because we think it is troublesome to move. Several days ago, we found that the Belmont is offering 2-month free for new customers, and the rental price also decreases.
We contacted the Belmont hoping to get the same concession. The Belmont said it is only for new customers not current residents. However, our friend, who changed his apartment room in the Belmont, got this offer. The Belmont

I've lived at the Belmont for the last 2 years as an MBA student at Duke. I just graduated and I'm about to move back home to Chicago.
I've had a wonderful experience at the Belmont, and made a lot of positive and powerful memories. I lived in a very spacious 1 bedroom apartment with my fiance and 2 dogs. Our kitchen had the dishwasher, garbage disposal, electric stove with vent fan, huge microwave, and huge refrigerator. I actually got into cooking in my free time since everything was at my fingertips. Huge water heater, washer and dryer, and central air conditioning and heat were included in

I lived here for the last few years and loved the experience. There were a few robberies that happened in ALL of the apartment complexes around us- NOT JUST THE BELMONT. When the robberies occurred, Belmont acted swiftly to make it's residents safe. They hired security guards, put up more cameras, increased lighting, and installed steel door frames into all of the apartments. Honestly, Belmont went above and beyond to help it's residents after this horrible mess that happened around ALL of the apartment complexes.
In terms of the apartments themselves. I loved mine! It was a perfect one bedroom

Wanted a somewhat affordable apartment in order to walk to work at Duke University Hospital. This place is wonderful! Maintenance always fixes things promptly, the gym and club house were just renovated and are beautiful. Most people that live here are in grad school and study focused so it isn't loud. There's a lake and trail you can walk around right behind the apartment if you like scenic adventure runs. My housemate and I are new grad nurses and we love our first adult apartment!

I love calling the Belmont home. The grounds are pretty and I love the new clubhouse, especially the new coffee machine. Even though we have had some recent burglaries, I never felt unsafe because the office was on top of it. The community is very quiet, mostly Duke students. Maintenance has actually been fairly good with few delays in repairs, not that I need much. The office staff has been especially kind and helpful, though all I have ever met is Lindsay and Mattie. Lindsay and Jacb (maintenance) do their best to make everyone happy, and I know I can depend on them for help or questions. All

You get what you pay for. Actually worse! I would give no stars if that was an option.

Be warned Weinstein Properties will scam you. When we moved in so my partner could get his MBA at Duke we were given water-damaged, dirty apartment at move in.

The living experience throughout was subpar but manageable.

Move Out was when we really got screwed. We were emailed dirty pictures of an apartment that WASN'T OURS mixed in with a few pictures of our previous apartment. #shady

We were then told we would be charged for chips and scratched to the countertop that we noted at move-in on the inspection

I have really enjoyed living here. Both the front desk and maintenance are really nice and responsive, the grounds are kept nice, it is quiet and peaceful, the floorplans seem small but still offer lots of room, there are nice amenities, and they are very animal friendly.

Of course it is expensive to live here - but you pay to live close to Duke, so one can't really complain about that one. And yes, updates would be nice. I have friends that live in the Heights and it is a tad more expensive but the apartments are nicer (granite, nice cabinets, molding).

It won't be my forever home

You live here because someone in your life (you or a significant other) go to Duke. Otherwise, move. You're right next to campus. It's more expensive here.

Pros of the Belmont:
1) Walk to campus, walk to Kroger
2) Under new management and they actually care about the place.
3) Big bedrooms and closets compared to the Heights
4) Ample parking
5) It's a massive complex, so you probably have friends that live here
6) The front desk folks are super nice. Sometimes incompetent, but I it depends on the person and on the time of day.
7) BUUUUUUNNNNNNNNNNNNIIIEEEESSSSSSSSSSS. They mostly

Very Friendly staff. I will actually miss the people who I interacted with most days. Almost every concern I we had while we were living there was quickly addressed.

The rooms are large and comfortable.

As a Duke student this was a great place to live, getting to school was a breeze and the gym had everything I needed.

While I did not get my security deposit back, they were happy to talk to me about it and I can admit that every charge they gave me was fair.

If it is in your budget this is a great place to live.

The staff appears friendly... at first...

Fine amenities. Gym/pool/apartment is about what you would expect for the price. Good for dogs (plenty of space to walk them around).

However, the staff is terrible. Throughout the year (2012-13) we had many issues with our washing machine, dryer, and dishwasher. While the Belmont promptly came to repair these issues, they did not do so properly (even after numerous complaints). My roommate had a number of dress shirts ruined in the dryer (which the Belmont reimbursed him about half their value) and the Belmont was never able to get our dishwasher to

I just wanted to say that I will be telling everyone to avoid these guys and to live in other apartment complexes. My roommate and I were told that we could use the Key Release form to let people (most of them working for charities) enter our apartment and pick up remaining furniture for free, and if we leave it behind these guys will charge us a fee. Now that we've moved, I was sent an email by staff, stating that we were no longer allowed to do this, as it's an "inconvenience" to her, and that we have to find a way to remove our furniture despite being 500 miles away now.

Spacious Apartments. Friendly staff. Dog-friendly. Close walk to campus. They are newer apartments which is nice for you electricity bill for air conditioning/heating. Free coffee and cookies in the club house everyday (and dog treats). They have monthly free food events which I love!. I have not had any bug problems, and any problems I have come across the maintenance staff is quick to fix. My dog loves it here, I love it here so I have lived here for 3 years now and am already signed up for my fourth. I would definitely recommend it.

Somewhat Frat-tastic living accommodations near Duke. Your car won't get broken into parked in the lot as the one next to it is nicer than yours. The pool is ideal for hot days and the apartments are spacious and well kept. Electric stoves.
