I have enjoyed living at the Songbird for over 10 years. My apartment is spacious and well designed and much nicer than the model. The floor plans here are open and much larger than most I've seen. The Songbird is park-like with a hill country flavor. Even though we are located just 2 blocks from the I 10/410 interchange the Songbird is secluded and full of oak and other native trees.

Pros:
-the layout is really nice and roomy. I got the 1D layout and I just love how my furniture fits
-the office staff are really accommodating and nice
-parking is so easy here! I always get a spot right in front of my door. I love it.
-The maintenance guy is really friendly and easy to talk to. You can tell he really wants to help you out.
Cons:
-there was a miscommunication when getting my apartment ready and I had no choice but to move in with multiple problems. The apartment wasn't cleaned properly and definitely not upgraded like I had asked for. Idk who had lived in this unit before

Very disappointed in this apartment, I went to go look at the model and I like it and was promised my unit would have all the upgrades. So I pay the application fee and 200 admin fee and cancel the other apartment that I was interested in all to come to find out my unit has all the old appliances and the ac not working and the unit was infested with roaches "Not move in ready" I keep trying to get ahold of someone before my 7 day grace period so I can cancel my lease if this don't get fixed, but I keep getting the run around and saying they are short staffed.

After having lived in both small towns and large cities and numerous apartments within both sides of that spectrum I can undoubtedly say this apartment has been the worst experience I've had in my entire history. If I knew how much of a hassle it would have been to get them to identify, and fix an electrical issue that has impacted 20 units across 2 buildings thus resulting in those affected having no internet access, I never would have moved in to begin with. My main takeaway from this situation has been a lot of passing the buck off and little to no communication between multiple associates in

I dodged a bullet with this one . I was all set to pick up the keys to move in Friday January 29th 2021 . When Robert the leasing agent tells me the appliances they ordered are on back order on Thursday the day before and would not be in until possibly the next week. I was a little upset so I decided I would wait for them . I had asked if I could just put my deep freezer in the unit so I don't lose all of my food . He never got back to me about an answer on it . Don't be fooled by the cute neighborhood, this place is riddled with issues. Chief among them right now being the management teams laissez-Faire attitude about the constant mailbox breaking. This has been going on for months, the coded gate that was installed was broken by day 3 and that was back in April or so? There's a lot of elderly residents in this community along with Disabled Vets, of which I am included. Lots of us have very important medicines we depend on that are sometimes life or death if you go without them.

Spacious and decently priced. However, the apartments themselves are old. The month we moved in,we found mold in one of the kitchen cabinets (which was replaced a month later and doesn't match the rest anymore)the insides of the cabinets are also spray painted black(probably to hide damage),we had fleas for a couple of weeks (didn't even have a pet at the time),mold in the bathroom that was just painted over. Garbage disposal broke and is now gone. Broken drawers, leaking fridge,leaking toilet, leaking AC unit (at least that one was fixed before too much water got under the carpet, 95% of the place

DO NOT LIVE HERE. I can not express to you how much you should not live here. I have lived here for 2.5 years and if I could leave I would. I have had bug problems, A/C issues, they have overcharged me, they force you to have internet that is 3X more expensive, more complicated, and not as good. If your inspection is out they will call the cops. I have never felt so attacked by the people whom I live under. I have had my apartment flood and no one come out for days. I have gone without AC. Save yourself. And find anywhere else.

I usually do not leave unfavorable comments but I would strongly suggest if you did choose this property to be careful. I have not ascertained whether or not it is lack of training OR lack of caring but something is not right with how things work with this complex. I have NEVER heard of having to pay a fee to GET OUT of a lease. I have always known that if proper notice is given and there are no issues with the unit, and the time has expired, THAT'S IT for the business relationship. Why do tenants have to pay to be released from an expired lease? This is just one of the questions I have been

The worst management by far. Lied about promotion they were having at the time charged my bank account without authorization. And now the person handling my file no longer workers their and the new management will not honor the agreement that was set. Asked for corporate contact and unbelievable as it may sound I was told they do not have the head corporate contact. Just a disgrace to new clients and below honesty in every way. I don't recommend this property. Money hungry and lack of integrity is my honesty opinion of this place.

Went to view these apartments today with my daughter due to she is looking for her first apartment, as the lady was showing us the apartment I opened the pantry door and roaches started crawling down the door and as we were walking out there was a roach over the front door. Roaches are a no no. The stairs we're unstable. The lady advised they are doing some renavating and they will be different apartments in a couple months. Ummmm naw we pass. If I could give zero stars I would.

I have had a leaking roof since we moved here in March, they keep saying "someone will come by and fix it" & it's been months! we didn't have have hot water for 2 weeks, & now our pipe for our toilet is leaking and no one has stopped by to fix it. VERY poor management for "high rate" apartments. Don't do it.

We have not had a good manager in a while. We do however have an assistant manager named Danielle who is wonderful, attentive and sweet. I've seen her take a lot of heat from people and continue to carry herself very professionally. The maintenance man Lance is about as good as they come. I've had minimal issues in my 3 years but the ones I have had are well addressed and timely. I would recommend this place, and have, on many occasions. I'm a pleased long term resident.

This apartment complex has got to be the worst place I have ever lived in! Everything from dirty carpet, leaking tub, terrible air conditioning, tons of stray cats, to the dumbest people in San Antonio in office. Danielle is a terrible employee that seems to only show up to work to go on lunch dates with a maintenance guy EVERYDAY! I have made multiple complaints to her about noisy neighbors and absolutely nothing has been done. Save yourself the trouble, trust me.
