Here at Midway Animal Hospital, we always welcome new clients and patients to our full service veterinary practice. Midway Animal Hospital strives to offer excellence in veterinary care to Homosassa and surrounding areas such as Crystal River, Dunnellon, Lecanto, and Inverness. We treat small animals including cats, dogs along with avian (birds) and some exotics.
As a new client of Midway Animal Hospital, you can expect our full attention to your pet's needs. When you arrive for your appointment, signs will prompt you to call from your mobile phone to announce your arrival. You will be greeted warmly and given the option to have your pet seen in an exam room with you or utilize our popular and convenient curbside or drop off service.
Acupuncture can be used to help improve or cure problems your pet might have, including those related to the musculoskeletal, reproductive, neurological, or gastrointestinal systems. Acupuncture can also be used to manage pain and hasten recovery after surgery. Acupuncture, which originated in China, has been used as a therapeutic treatment option for thousands of years.
We monitor our patients closely to keep them as safe as possible during procedures that require general anesthesia. A veterinary technician will continually assess your pet's heart and respiratory rate, . For some procedures, your pet will need to be administered general anesthesia so that he or she will be unconscious and not feel pain.

Great team of vets here. Fair prices, compassionate, and kind. Personally, they helped us put our beloved dog down because of old age and they helped, not like it's just a dog kinda way, but we know how much this dog means to your family. I've also been taking my other dog there which they helped treat with great results!

I took my two kitty babies, 45 and Sheba, here and they treated us like we were the only people in the world. I had their nails trimmed and had a general checkup, then decided to get the blood panel workup, which will let us know if there are any hidden problems. So worth the reasonable fees and I won't take my babies anywhere else, ever again. I recommend these folks to ANYONE and EVERYONE who has babies they love as much as I love mine. Taylor, our very caring and knowledgeable Vet Tech, took extra time to explain everything that they were doing, and she handled my kitties with the tender care

My pug was a patient here at Midway about 5 years back. After returning to Florida- we needed a vet asap. Midway picked right up where we left off- and was able to see and treat my girl that same week. Prices are average for the area- and both vets we saw were very good with my fearful girl. Thank you!

We took our Yorkie to them and from the start I was ushered in the room with papers to sign that I would pay five hundred dollars before the vet saw him . What an insult I refuse to sign I stated "I have two hundred dollars in my pocket" with that the tech went back and the vet did see my Yorkie. This was my third visit and last. They offer more expensive treatments before final analysis shaming you for not having his teeth done which he was not there for at the time. I explained we are seniors on a pension we can barely get our dental procedures done. Between all the superfluous papers

We had an 18 yr old dog that had reached her time. I called early Monday morning crying asking for an appointment to euthanize her. The receptionist said they had nothing other than a 1pm appointment which wouldn't work because we work. We needed an end of day appointment. She coldly said that was all they had. At this point, I was still crying. She offered nothing for this extremely hard decision we had to make. I ended up calling another vet in town who was very compassionate and got us an end of day appointment. We will not be returning to Midway due to their lack of caring and

This is an ok veterinarian office. The staff seem competent My only complaint, and it is a big one, is that more and quite expensive treatments are often recommended. My dog had a UTI and after one course of treatment was completed, a urinalysis showed bacteria, white blood cells, red blood cells with crystals. The vet recommended prescription diet to prevent the crystals, an X-ray, and an ultrasound to visualize any crystals, and a catheter specimen for culture. I opted for a second round of antibiotics and the dog is doing better.

Like most pet parents I am very particular how my "babies" are treated. Midway Animal Hospital is CLEAN, COMPETENT, and FRIENDLY (Did I mention CLEAN?). The office staff always makes me feel like my puppies are the cutest ever (which they are). Our Vet, Dr. Dearden, is always so patient with our questions and never makes us feel like we're being rushed through. Don't hesitate to make an appointment and check them out.
