Location is great, close to everything. The building amenities are also nice specially the roof top deck. Homelessness and security breakins are a big issue around the building. There were a couple of breakins in the bike room and storage area. Vito is awesome and gets things done. Management is very slow to respond to things.

Love it here!!!! Great place for singles and really whoever likes DT portland. I been here for 3 months and love it. I'm on 8th floor and I still can hear night life of DT but I can block it out with my TV and when I close my window it blocks out DT nightlife sounds. Beautiful rooftop that is absolutely gorgeous with breath taking views of DT and landscape. Mt. Hood and Mt St. Helen's!!!!! Wine lounge on 1st floor. Great place to take a date or pre-game with the fellas before you hit the night life of DT portland.

Vito is the star!
5 stars go to VITO.
The simple thing such as receiving the package is an ordeal in this building. When I could not get any help from the front desk after several attempts, Vito found me wondering.....Immediately he dropped what he was doing and he helped me to find the packages that have been delivered a few days ago. He was so pleasant and eager to help, I found it is so refreshing, We need people like him more in the world.
Thank you so much for VITO who is working hard, I respect a person like him deeply.

Living here is fantastic. I love my apartment and everything is super modern, secure and safe. (Not to mention, stylish). Also special shout-out to Melissa, Carol, Vito and Ethan for always going above and beyond making Couch9 a stellar place to live. They’re all so friendly, warm and accommodating. Keep up the amazing work!

I lived in Couch9 for seven months and overall the stay was quite pleasant. There will be always things to improve, but I would confidently say that my time in Portland wouldn't be as great had I chosen any other places that I have been checking out last summer.
+ I love the location. Yes there are homeless people and tents the very next block, but they are rarely aggressive so it doesn't bother me much. This location is just perfect for someone like me who enjoys walking and public transit. It's a short walk to the heart of Pearl district or downtown, it's close to light rails and numerous buses

It used to be a good building until avenue5 took over about a year ago.
It’s a shame because the units are quite good however it’s not the only building with good units in Portland, so you have other options. I’d also say that their pricing is slightly marked up compared to equivalent competition for god knows what reason.
I’m moving out this month after 2 years and avenue5 is part of the reason why.
Also beware there is massive construction on the south end of the building that will probably last for another year. It’s very loud and disturbing.

Building and location are terrific. Though the property management team leaves a lot to be desired. Gray Star was the first management team when I moved in. They were great. The current team Fifth Avenue(?)is often absent and slow to respond to requests. Office hours are unpredictable and hence couriers and dry cleaners often can’t make their delivery, which means added inconvenience for me.

DO NOT DO IT! DO NOT DO IT! DO NOT DO IT! DO NOT DO IT!
Their rooms are low cost, then they sneak in HUGE fees that exceed even the room expense. Booked, within 30 seconds cancelled, called them, e-mailed them, and wrote them a letter and got the 'ol "buyer beware" speech and letters.
They have many reviews like that, why would you ever feel the need to take that kind of risk?
They may have won the battle, but we stay in Portland at least 30 nights per year and I will always avoid them and will slam them in person or via every online review platform available. Too unethical to

The condo was clean modern and loved having the full size kitchen. Bed was comfy and loved having some alone time to study for my test. The towels and sheets were crisp white and the kitchen spotless. Was easy to find. the instructions with pictures were helpful. The reps were attentive and prompt with responses.

This property, management, and neighborhood is awesome! The property is very peaceful, beautiful, clean, and welcoming. The rooftop has an amazing view and is a fun chill area. Management/leasing/maintenance team is always very friendly, helpful, fast, and attentive. The neighborhood is great because everything is very close by and good walking distance. I definitely recommend this property.

I stayed here a while back and the location is AMAZING! Within short walking distance to Powell books and a lot of great restaurants and coffee shops. The building itself is nice and well upkept - and the lounge area on the rooftop is the cherry on top. I love going up there to get some quiet work done.

Lived here in 2019 and had a great experience.
The location can't be beat. There's a World Foods market nearby and a homey greek restaurant across the street - Eleni's - run by a pleasant, generous lady.
Most of the bars, restaurants and nightlife in the Pearl are within a 3 - 10 min walk. Enjoyed visiting Bamboo Sushi, Andina, Oven and Shaker and Teardrop lounge.
The building itself has a very nice roof-deck area, wine bar and conference room. The Avenue5 management staff were thoughtful, communicative and responsive to our needs and hosted a summer barbecue party that we enjoyed

Stayed here with the Barsala service and absolutely enjoyed my stay. The studio apartment was beautifully furnished and this is an amazing location. It's located near some of the best restaurants and places to shop! Located right around the corner from NOLA doughnuts and Powells books! I really enjoyed taking walks here, even on the rainy days.

Despite leasing terms forbidding residents to sublet, this building makes its money using Air BnB. You will have unknown people milling in and out constantly as Couch 9 can't fill their units with renters so they go the cheaper route....air bnb. End result, loud parties, lack of control and a disheartening experience for renters.
Should you decide to rent and you have an east facing unit, kiss sleep good-bye! You will be awoken 6-days a week by two trash trucks followed by a recycling truck and the sound of crashing bottles hitting the metal floor of a garbage bin. This will start around

Lots of issues. From lack of building and garage security to resigning the lease based on untruths. This used to be a wonderful place to live with just one big issue (noise), but staff was supportive and active.
Besides the fact that utilities have gone up by 6x's in the past few months and tenants are paying for the common area activities of transient guests (they rent out apartments like a hotel, but those on a lease cannot short term rent, there is very little follow through on issues. Emails go out and rarely get responses or resolution. They now have a weekly wine event but attendance
