Some good news. Both elevators are working now ! And so is Package Concierge on the 2nd floor. YAY !! However, we have an ongoing serious and dangerous situation in the building. Vagrants continue to get into the building.......some by sneaking in behind tenants who are not paying attention, some through a fire door that allegedly must remain unlocked due to fire codes in our city and some are invited in by tenants. Yesterday, a tenant was on my floor for an errand and encountered a vagrant sleeping outside my apartment door about 7:30 a.m. I had opened my door two hours before to bring

Lived here for 1 year and would not recommend it to someone looking for an apartment in downtown Portland. The apartment I moved into was all brand new - appliances, flooring. Was nice, clean and on the top floor, which was a bonus. First few months were fine, but things really started going downhill fast.
Elevators - Do you like waiting for elevators? If so, you'll love this place. I can't tell you how major of a problem the elevators became for all tenants of Museum Place. Two elevators for 7 floors - barely passible if they are both working. Imagine a situation when one is broken for 3+ months

I have lived in this apartment for four years. The only reason I've stayed is the hassle of moving. Management overturns here multiple times a year. So they never get to know the tenants and vice versa. One of the two elevators here has been out of service for over four (!) months. And because on-site management claims they have no responsibility for this issue, tenants are left unheard. We have not received a single message about the elevator - not one. And this is just one example of how management turns a deaf ear to residents. Homeless folks routinely sleep in the stairwell, in the lobby

I checked out one of their units and the building/unit was good for the price. However, that was before I realized how bad the area was. I would say if you are thinking about renting, circle the block to see what you are getting into. Rampant homelessness and there is a needle exchange right up the block so you will encounter your fair share of characters.

I wanted to thank Mike and Hussein, our maintenance superstars. Downtown apartment living is great as long as there's consistent, reliable, knowledgable and thorough staff support. But these guys do all this and more for the cost of a smile. We are very fortunate to be able to enjoy downtown without all the "down" that lesser apartment dwellers must endure. Hussein is ALWAYS on it and his leadership not only gives Mike direction but seems to do it with priorities appropriately in mind. Dilly dilly!!!

I would only like to rate Hussein, who is in charge of the maintenance department at Museum Place apartments. Without him, this place would not run! Hussein is extremely professional, reliable, friendly and trustworthy. It goes without saying he gets the job done but goes one step further to take the time to communicate when the job will be done. With other uncertainties about this place the one constant thing is that we do have a dependable and professional maintenance manager. We are lucky to have Hussein around at Museum Place, as I'm sure other tenants would agree, he's probably the

The goods: maintenance has been awesome, specifically Hussain, who we run into every once and a while and is always friendly. We tried installing a curtain rod and after it fell down and took some of the wall with it, he helped patch it back up and found the problem/reinstalled it for us. This was extremely helpful because we we didn't have a ladder nor the screws to drill through the beam we needed to get through. We also had a leak in the bathroom and issue with our shower, both of which were fixed quickly. The leak cause our sewer bill to be high, and the office offered a bill credit. Expectations

Do not rent here. We had an awful experience. We should have known from when we sat down to sign the lease that we were in for trouble - we sat down to sign and after we signed asked for a copy. Aloura looked shocked and said "your lease?" as if we didn't have a right to our lease or that it was a bother for her to provide it. She never provided it ("sure, I'll email it"), and we had to ask for it another half dozen times from a handful of different employees.
Like others have said, paper thin walls, but I could overlook that if the management company was at all

I lived here for nearly four years. My rent increased every year quite heavily within my stay. I must say I left disappointed for several reasons.
One - I spent a couple of laborious days deep cleaning my apartment (my unit was kept in good condition while I lived there, btw). At the end, they still tried to charge me plenty for cleaning services. I have no idea why it costed so much when the place was as clean as it was when I moved in with maybe one or two small nail holes. If that were the case, I shouldn't have spent the time or money on cleaning products to begin with.

I've lived at Museum place the last 8 months. The apartments are clean and modern with high ceilings, wood floors, and an industrial feel. Beautiful courtyard, and close walking distance to everything. Close to art museum, PSU farmers market, rose garden, Pearl district, restaurants and shopping. Friendly staff. I've had a positive experience here.

This property has definitely gone downhill over the last year. Management seems distracted by the other, newer properties they oversee. Every day of the week, there are different representatives on site, in training for higher priced complexes. One of two elevators is frequently out of order. Tenant complaints aren't taken seriously. The location is to die for, but that's about all it has going for it.

This property is amazing! I started my contract in April, renting one of the lofts and feel like it is the best of all worlds :) The space is plenty big for me with tons of storage space. I love the floor to ceiling windows and evening sunsets - sometimes makes me feel like I never want to leave. The management team is incredibly responsive and accommodating in all ways. I am so glad that I decided to make Museum Place my home.

Hussein, Maintenance Manager is exceptional. When ever I need support the Maintenance Service contacts him immediately and he responds in like manner. In the years since Greystar, and particularly Rachel Swartout, the Property Manager took over, She and her management team has never been disappointed me. Job Well Done!

I have been living at Museum Place since July and have been really pleased with my apartment and the staff. Whenever I reported an issue that needed repairs, it has been fixed the same day. I am so happy with the location, the light in my apartment and the other residents have been really friendly. It is a great place to live.

My one year lease is up in November 2015 and it's bittersweet.
Pro:
1. Cliche but location, location, location! This is right across the street from the Portland Art Museum, a couple blocks away from Saturday Market & PSU campus, within walking distance to downtown bars, restaurants, Pioneer place, and even Pearl District if you're feel like a long walk or a short streetcar ride. Safeway is also right downstairs and is open very late.
2. Staff is super friendly and prompt to address any maintenance issues.
Cons:

So rating it overall is tough because while I gladly lived out two full leases, I have a horrible taste in my mouth at the end of the last. Richard Sproat hit it on the nose: this is a beautiful place to live, if you just didn't have to deal with RIVERSTONE MANAGEMENT. For one common reason or another, be ready to deal with a staff who are aloof, disingenuous, and pick every penny from your safety deposit. The prior management made living here an easy and enjoyable experience; the current management needs to take some tips on customer service, accountability, and keeping the residents at the forefront

Lived at Museum Place for a few months and really loved. Close to the fresh outdoor market as well as all the museums. Affordable and very nice apartment building, great management, and great facilities with washer and dryers in each apartment. Would move in again for sure. The walls are very, very, very thin.

The previous reviews were apparently written before the change in management back in January. While the building on the whole remains reasonable, there have been some changes that prospective tenants should know about. The management no longer takes the form of the personable Ben, whom one could find in the office even after the regular hours: now they open exactly at opening time, and forget trying to find anybody after hours.
The simple two or three page lease has been replaced by a 100-page monstrosity. They require liability insurance, which was never explicitly required before. That was fine
