Mudita Yoga
Mudita is a Sanskrit word meaning joy. It is usually translated as "sympathetic" or "altruistic" joy, the pleasure that comes from delighting in other people's well-being. There is an inner spring of infinite joy that is available to everyone at all times, regardless of circumstances. The heart of Mudita yoga is the understanding that we are all one.

Our invitation to you is to come as you are, feel at home, ease into your body, get out of your head, and re-connect to a place of lightness, peace, and love - to find the well-spring of Joy already within you. You fill in the blank, sky is the limit from this place of JOY! I LOVE this studio, and by that I mean the space, the community, the teaching, and the practice.

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous talented, and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn't serve the world.
Movement in stillness, stillness in movement. Feeling a pose from within, and having that come as naturally as loving your child. Space - for breath, for balance, for connection, for possibility, for joy! Discovery of truth, self, and light. These are among the many gifts yoga brings me; they continue to unfold.
My writings are for you. They come from my heart, from my experience, from my curiosity about this powerful journey we are on. My hope is they in someway inspire you. That they create within you your own curiosity to discover the truth of who you are. My hope is that they create a connection between us, dismantling that which separates.
This quote fully encompasses the philosophy of my teacher training. I am interested in cultivating within you, within me, a space that we can be confident and comfortable in the questions. This will be your invitation - to travel with me and explore the many facets, nuances and paths of yoga; to be in a place of open ended questions allowing room for intuition, illumination, for infinite possibilities.
Yoga welcomes us into union with self, into a relationship with us. The introspective nature of yoga invites us to untangle ourselves from the barriers we may have erected that prevent us from having an authentic connection with us, a real union with the world. The promise of unity yoga offers is why I often say 'Yoga is big!' It will hold you, embrace you, take you to places beyond your imagination.

I am so grateful that Carrie and her yogi instructors have remained open during this year of fear. Carrie pivoted to offer online options along with the in-person that is so meaningful to me. I have tried several instructors here, who are all lovely, and Carrie is one of the best guides I've ever worked with (and I've practiced for decades all over the globe). Attending one of Carrie's classes is not unlike going to a one-hour traditional therapy session with a psychologist! The class prices are reasonable and the studio comfortable and warm. Thank you for being open and full of joy :)

I LOVE this studio, and by that I mean the space, the community, the teaching, and the practice. I come to Mudita to be spiritually and physically nourished. My life's work is demanding, and time on my mat at Mudita offers me both solace and strength. I've shed tears and found hope and no matter what I've needed or where I was at any given moment, that space has been held for me. Classes are small and the environment is warm and welcoming. I hope you will come join us.

I am new to yoga and the instructors at Mudita have been very good at spending a little extra time with me and making sure I am practicing yoga safely and correctly. The instructions in the class are clear and descriptive. Another thing I love is at the beginning of the classes, the instructor asks the class if she needs to focus on any specific body part. This has helped so much when I have attended class with aches and pains. The stretches fixed them right up. I have tried yoga at other studios and this is my favorite. I highly recommend Mudita.

This studio feels so special and sacred. It's become a second home to me, and I would highly recommend this studio to anyone wanting to learn about yoga, themselves, or how to feel more safe and connected in daily life. I love this studio!

A Comfortable community. I enjoy the sense of community that the studio offers. The instructors know the names of the participants and foster a sense of community. It does not matter if you have never practiced yoga before or if you are an advanced practicitioner, the classes will provide what you are looking for, everyone is welcome and made to feel comfortable.

I'm not sure what I just experienced but it certainly was NOT what I expected from the reviews. The owner was in tonight and perhaps she was having a bad evening but the energy I felt in there was not good, not welcoming, and not what I'm looking for. I'm very disappointed and that's the last time I try to attend a class without checking out a studio and observing a class first.

In reply to your response.

I was not upset I was asked to take my shoes off. I was shocked that I was 5 feet from the door, at the front desk, nowhere near the studio space, while a group of people

I have so much love for Carrie and the community she has built here at Mudita. I look forward to her weekly Wednesday night restore class and try to hop into her other offerings when my schedule allows. She is truly one of the most compassionate, in-tune teachers I have ever met and takes her yoga practice off of her mat with "Yogis Being Joy" - where she organizes students for volunteering efforts in the Salt Lake valley.

In addition to Carrie's therapeutic teaching style, this is one of the coziest studios I've seen in Salt Lake - especially with the heated floors in the

I was visiting SLC to do some snowboarding and took a class at Mudita Yoga on my rest day. The space was beautiful and Henna was a fantastic teacher. Maybe I'm just a jaded New Yorker, but I wasn't sure how the class would compare to back home. I was pleasantly surprised by the great class and it felt wonderful to get all the kinks out after five days of riding.

Cambria is an incredible teacher for beginners and yogis with physical limitations! My husband was a recent visitor and asked me to post a review for him. He said that Carrie's progression to poses are masterful and made the class both manageable and satisfying. Her chanting created a beautiful acapella shavasana.

I started going to yoga at mudita and it was going great. I was really enjoying the teachers and one of the students got extremely offensive. He continued to offend many class members and upset 3 separate teachers, all who then quit teaching. I sent a very nice email to the owner about what was going on and hoped for some help. I told her the comments were both religious and degrading and she decided that this man was doing no wrong so she was not going to rectify the situation but instead told me that I had personal problems. I spent alot of money and brought in a lot of referrals. Our entire
