Services
For more than 25 years, Texan Eye has provided cataract surgery, LASIK, and ophthalmology services for residents of Central Texas. In fact, more Central Texans choose Texan Eye for their vision needs than any other practice in the region. Our experienced providers have made Texan Eye the vision treatment and correction practice of choice in Austin as well as Cedar Park.
Texan Eye operates out of three locations in Austin as well as our office in Cedar Park, Texas. We also operate out of Burnet and Marble Falls, to accommodate specialty vision care needs. Our cataract and LASIK surgeons serve patients residing in Central Texas, as well as international patients and those traveling from out-of-state.
The eye is a truly incredible organ that allows us to navigate through our daily routines. Without proper care and attention, the eye's functionality can quickly change. Though myopia and hyperopia are extremely common and not preventable, we offer a variety of vision treatment options.
To better understand the eye, the following page features information about several common eye disorders, including myopia, hyperopia, presbyopia, astigmatism, and cataracts. If you wear glasses and/or contact lenses and are considering laser vision correction or intraocular lens implants, please schedule a refractive surgery consultation at one of our locations in Austin or Cedar Park.

Jeffrey R. Lane had my son's eyes dilated PRIOR to doing his vision test. Then, while answering all of the questions "1 or 2? 3 or 4?" his vision was distorted due to the dilation. As a result, the Rx for his glasses was way off. My son, never having had his eyes dilated before did not think this was right, but didn't question it - had glasses filled elsewhere, and now cannot see from this bad prescription. When we went back to ask for a new exam, Dr. Lane became snippy with him and told him it was basically right. (THEN WHY CAN'T HE SEE? Isn't that the main point of getting a new Rx?) The practice

I had very high myopia and when I was looking for a cataract surgeon, I was concerned about the doctor taking enough time to get the measurements right so I would have the best vision after the surgery. I met with Dr. Walters and am very glad I did. He spent time with me discussing mono-vision asking about where I needed to focus for work and activities. He took the time to explain different lens designs and why he selected the ones for me. The surgery was just as described and I was amazed at how well I saw immediately after the operation. The mono-vision works perfectly. I can simply see near

I am a patient of both Dr. Walters (Opthalmologist) and Dr. Loose, a retina specialist at Texan Eye. It was only a few weeks until my yearly checkup, but I felt pressure and weepiness in my left eye--the same one that had a previous hole in the retina that Dr. Loose expertly repaired.
One day before a cruise with my grands, the KIND, WELCOMING STAFF got me in, the SWEET, PATIENT ASSISTANT was efficient, kind, and friendly, and Dr. Walters was everything you want in your doctor! He's the best!
This entire office is wonderful. And I will add that ANOTHER OFFICE IN AUSTIN THAT I USED TO GO

They didn't measure my PUPILLARY distance while I was there at my appointment and they said I would have to come back to do that. I can't go back because I don't have the time I was going to order glasses online because I don't have to the time to go to a store now I have to go back or go somewhere else to get the measurement.

They Might as well have a drive thru window for the crappy fast-food service style they are implimenting. appointment lasted about an hour. MA/tech performed 98% of the exam includig dilation and vision screen. Eye doc comes in for about 2 minutes total and then was on her way with very little conversation.

The receptionist staff are not friendly. The nurses are good, thus the star. Dr. Walters did my cataract surgery, but I still have problems seeing and had several follow up exams to no avail. I ended up having to get a prescription for reading glasses. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend their services. Buyer beware.

Like others who've posted reviews, our first (and last) visit to Texan Eye was highly-disappointing. After being referred by our pediatrician, we were told the appointment for our toddler would be 2 hours long so we planned for this lengthy appointment accordingly, got out of work early to pick him up from school early, etc. When we arrived, we waited over an hour before we figured out that the customer service was not a priority for this organization--not at all. They did not care that we were sitting there waiting over an hour for our child to be seen for what would still be another 2-hours

The service is bad. My dad's eye doctor convinced my dad to get his tear duct fixed since it's not in place due to age. The doctor assured my dad that the cost will be covered by Medicare. However, when my dad tried to schedule an appointment for surgery he had to come in for another check up since the surgeon performing the procedure isn't my dad's eye doctor. Then, they told him they will check to see how much will Medicare cover and made the schedule anyway. No one tried to reach out to my dad with regards to insurance and coverage. No one confirmed whether or not my dad

Ran low on my RX for glaucoma and had trouble refilling it at pharmacy. Stopped in and Stephanie took great care of me. She got everything in order and saw to it that I had plenty of medicine to get me through until I can get my regular RX filled. This was about noon on 11/25/14. This kind of care is rare and much appreciated. Job well done. Thanks.

First time calling to set an appointment and appointment setters do not care about you and if you pay or not. If this type of customer service I will be getting i will not go. The way she spoke to me, I could tell right away that she didn't even care a bit about my needs. I told her to cancel the appointment, and she just hung up. I will be calling somewhere else, and also tell my family and friends not to call.

I had a terrible experience at this office several months ago. From every aspect I was disappointed, annoyed or frustrated. Walked up to the receptionist's desk and both girls behind the counter were frazzled, unhelpful and irritated, and this was first thing in the morning before things were really all that busy. Had to wait there several minutes before one of them even spoke to me.
I then preceded to wait for 25 minutes in the waiting room (keep in mind I had the first appointment slot of the morning). When I finally got called back to the eye examination area, I was told to take

First off let me say that the medical part of my experience with this doctor was A+. I had cataract surgery on both eyes and I can see great! My complaint is with their business practices.
- If you don't have the first appointment of the day, plan on waiting. My first appt I had to wait nearly an hour before I got to go back. I know they want to make a lot of money and docs think they're time is more valuable than us mere mortals, but this is disrespecful. If I ran my business this way I'd be bankrupt. But few doctor's offices really care about the customer's experience
