I’ve been going to Dr. Desai for two years now, after being referred to her by a family friend. She is incredibly knowledgeable about her craft, and takes the time to explain all details of your eye, care plan, and prevention tools. Most practitioners are trying to speed through their time with you, but I’ve never felt rushed in my sessions with Dr. Desai. Her front office team are pleasant as well. Highly recommend!

I would strongly caution anyone against using this establishment. Their standard procedures put patients’ information at risk, and their staff is exceptionally rude, aggressive, and unwilling to take action to create a better client experience. I just had the worst customer service experience of my life because of this business.

This place has very aggressive COVID restrictions, but the employees don't follow them and have their masks down around their chins. They have the doors locked, taking temperatures and even went as far as to say my mask wasn't good enough for them and tried to get me to put on theirs. If you want COVID safety - it isn't here. If you want peace from COVID crazy people - that isn't here either.

THE FRONT OFFICE AT AUSTIN EYECARE IS NEGLIGENT/INCOMPETENT!!! This was a 5 star review now it's a 1 due to their awful business practices.. Last went to Dr. Desai over 6mos ago. Been her patient for years.
They have now sent me into collections twice for one visit. I haven't received a single bill in the mail or phone call from the office. I called after the first collection letter for like $4.12 and paid, asking if this is settled they said yes and low and behold another bill pops up 3mos later - now for $40 for a rebilling fee?!
I am done with this company forever. Not for her skill

I have had my eyes examined twice here. the 1st time the doctor was fine but when I went to look for glasses the guy helping me wouldn't let me try on the frames I wanted. He kept bringing "what he thought would look good. He wouldn't let me look around at the glasses.I was told to stay seated in the chair. Second visit the doctor was fine. The staff was again rude. They hardly ever answer the phone and ordering contacts is a nightmare. They lock their door and its impossible to get anyone to open it. Also I think thats a fire safety thing you can't lock your clients in your building. I will not

Great experience - friendly staff, quick but thorough. Dr. Desai is clearly passionate about what she does and made it a pleasantexperience. She explained everything very clearly and even gave pro-active eye care tips. I also appreciate that there was no "hard-sell" on getting glasses from them (I did purchase from Austin Eye Care, but did not feel pressured to do so at all).

Austin Eye Care use to be a nice and courteous office. It is not now, they had a Doctor change last year. The optometrist was very nice but her staff is awful. I tried for 2 weeks to talk to a person when I finally got ahold of someone she was very rude and whenever I called in to order contacts thru out the year they were not helpful and never return messages. Good Riddance Austin Eyecare !

Do NOT purchase your glasses here, you will be ripped off. I paid over $260 out of pocket with excellent insurance only to find out i could have gone to Costco and paid $10 out of pocket for a similar pair of the same brand. When i cancelled my order, they charged me over $50 just to cancel. Sad to say i still came out ahead

We have been going here, kind of annually for years. I have been really impressed. The examinations were on point, and very meticulous kept. Never has there been an insurance mix-up, and never an appointment forgotten about. There are a medium supply of glasses, maybe you might be able to get some cheaper at an el cheapo discount store, but the ones I have purchased have lasted years longer than intended normal wear and tear. All visits and appointments were accurate and on time. I never had to get a second opinion, nor was there ever any attempt at upselling. Dr. Duke is going to retire, but already

I haven't met the new doctor but hear she is great. Dr. Roger Duke is the finest optometrist I've had in a lifetime of seeing optometrists! He works through the exam deftly and methodically. He is experienced and good at what he does. He makes great banter that puts me at ease. He is a consummate professional. I am always smiling when I leave Austin Eyecare. Good frame selection, too. (Burberry, Ray-Ban, Prada).

I would highly recommend this location for your eye care needs. I was helped immediately when I walked in although I was 10 min early. The location had kind staff and a clean and sanitary environment. Dr. Desai completed my eye exam and she is an excellent optometrist. She is professional, extremely well at her job, knowledgeable, and is a very kind person.

I've gone to see Dr. Duke and team since I moved to Austin about 3 years ago now. So, three annual visits and some random stops to pick up new glasses and contacts. Dr. Duke is the best - he's the first Optometrist that offered the retinal photos, and took the time to explain what they were showing and what they likely meant for my long term vision. I don't feel rushed during the exam, and he doesn't switch through a million lens combinations like I find some other Optometrist do. After being brand loyal to LaFont glasses and not being loyal to a particular optometrist because of my transient nature, I saw AEC listed on my insurance provider and gave 'em a whirl.
