Daryl Shorter is a licensed Broker-In-Charge. He can assist you in buying, selling or renting your home. He oversees and handles the day-to-day affairs of Doug Shorter Property Management, Inc., closely working with an office staff including licensed sales associates and a property manager. Marie Shorter will greet you in person and on the phone when you call Doug Shorter Property Management, Inc.
Owning a rental home in Charleston is lucrative and can be costly at the same time. The best and easiest way to avoid additional headaches when renting your property is by teaming up with a group of knowledgeable professionals. We create checklists for everything we do with a laser-focus on delivering high-quality property and real estate management services.
We work for and with your Board of Directors. We look at our management as an extension of your Board. Our actions are governed by your master deeds and by-laws, along with consideration of your Board's wishes. After reviewing your record-keeping, insurance coverage and S.C. Corporation status, we make recommendations we feel would be beneficial.
When a home is ready for the rental market, it is immediately available. In order to remove a home from the available market, we require the security deposit in full and the first month's rent is pro-rated, depending on the amount of days that you would be in the home. Each month thereafter, the rent is due on the first in full.
Before making a maintenance request, please use this guide first to avoid any unnecessary service calls. 1. Have you checked the circuit breaker to see if there is a tripped circuit breaker also known as a "blown fuse"? If this is the case, before electricity can be restored, the circuit breaker must be RESET.

I've been with them only 10 months and come to find out this place is infested with rats in the attic. No one even apologized or show any type of consideration for me and my family. It's really sad that there able to get away with renting out places that are infested with rats. Couldn't figure out why I started to get sick the past couple of months, I don't have any health problem! On top of that have the nerve to want to raise rent. This is really sad 😔 😟 BEWARE!!!!!!

The staff is always willing to help. They are responsive, professional, and willing to assist you in all aspects concerning your home. Mrs. Kimberly is absolutely the best. The homes are well maintained at all times. I have never had any issues. If you're a good tenet, they will be an even greater landlord.

Just wanted to take a moment to thank the great staff of DSPM. They made my move effortless and were so responsive to my move in needs. The online availability of Leases, Move In Inspection, etc. cut down the time I physically had to go to the office. They were very quick to respond to some odds and ends once I was in the apartment. The staff is friendly and professional. Thank you, once again for helping make this important transition in my life less disruptive.

I would trust him with my life. The office and everyone that works fir him is amazing. Always call you with emergencies and take care of everything without gouging you.
