Services
The name of our Cape Cod inn comes from the historic Handkerchief Shoals Lightship, which served the waters of Nantucket Sound until 1951. Lightships were deployed where lighthouses could not be built due to unsuitable conditions. Crews and supplies were brought to the lightships from small Coast Guard Stations dotted along the mainland.
Outdoor pool: 8 feet deep, lounge chairs provided (no lifeguard and parents must accompany any child under 16.). Comfort Zone: be sure to check out our comfort zone during office hours for cool drinks, snacks and often forgotten items. Bagged Ice: 5lb bagged ice for your picnic cooler on sale at our office for your convenience.
We can block up to 20 rooms for your wedding. If we have availability for the dates you want, we will provide you with a LINK that only your guests can use to reserve a room. 6 weeks prior to wedding date we remove the block. If you are a guest you can reserve directly online. The Bride & Groom will provide you with a LINK to reserve a room.
Adventure Sportfishing Charters: Captain Len Greiner has been running Sportfishing Charters, Eider Hunts, and Seal watches for years. His knowledge, expertise and sense of humor will ensure you have a good time no matter which you choose. The waters of Cape Cod, Nantucket Sound, Nantucket Shoals, Monomoy Shoals, east of Chatham Massachusetts and south of Martha's Vineyard are the areas we fish from our 35 ft Duffy.
Buca's features classic Itilian: There is a little town in Italy on the center of Chianti called Greve. It sits amongst the rolling hills that explode with vineyards producing some of the finest Chianti and Super Tuscan blends in all of Italy. The Talkative Pig features Mediterranean: Inspired dishes made from fresh ingredients and traditional family recipes.

This inn is definitely motel-ish, but it was clean and comfortable. A little dated, but the staff was kind and helpful. We knew nothing about the area, so this area is a bit more residental (it felt)...we traveled to Barnstable, Chatham and Dennis...those were more of a "town" experience. HSI was close enough to walk to the beach and drive to dinner. Overall, a good experience.

We stayed at Handkerchief Shoals for two nights to attend a wedding. This motel was very welcoming, comfortable, relaxing and quiet. A little dated but still a cape cod gem. Loved having the beautiful pool too. We had a beautiful relaxed little get away. Thanks! We would stay again!

Large, newly renovated rooms with microwave and fridge. 2 BBQs, picnic tables and 2 umbrella tables make for a great picnic spot. Beautiful pool and they supply the towels. So fresh and clean and close to the beach. Owners are delightful and maintain high standards. We'll definitely be back! Thanks for a great stay!

I have read all the reviews here and I must say I had a very different experience than most guests. We made a reservation for three people through booking.com. When we checked in, we discovered there was only a queen bed. We called the reception to request an extra bed only to be greeted with screams and accusations that people like us were always trying to take more than what we requested. The owners said they were not at fault because the reservation was not done through them. I can understand they had little room to maneuver as it was labor day weekend, hotel was full, and as I was told, “

This place is a hidden gem. The main staff which is a married couple are both amazing people. They went out of their way to make sure they were able to accommodate our family multiple times, they switched days as well as as room types as needed. They were super nice to watch old run at all times and very friendly to speak with, I even have the opportunity to sit with one of the owners one evening and had a great casual conversation. The place is well kept and maintained. Cleanliness was never an issue. Our rooms were cleaned early both days and well supplied. The hotel itself is a quintessential
