I opened back my Yelp account to post this review. After reading reviews, I am so happy we did not get the apartment but wanted to share our experience. My son had an appointment yesterday with Corina/Karina? at the office to view an apartment. They were offering a move-in special. When we got there, nobody was at the front desk or even in the lobby. He now rents at another building and even during covid, there is always someone there with a smile on their face (more on that later). He called Corina and was informed no tours.. okay we understood due to covid and instead looked at pictures instead

I will never live in a greystar owned "luxury" place again in my life. It's beyond crazy since we have been here. Major problems time and time again. Take my advice or not, DO NOT MOVE HERE. If you tour I'd advise to take a look at the whole property and ask what is broken and how safe it is. There is even a private nextdoor group about this place that isn't pretty. Does not feel luxury like we were sold on and more of a lower income place. Not bashing lower income properties but that is not what we signed up for.

Very disappointed with The Broadway. When we first went in to view the apartments we were so impressed, we let them know that price and parking was a huge thing for us. Two days prior to moving in I called to schedule for the loading dock and was told there was no parking available for our cars and that prices double. No one was able to help us until the day of move in. We decided not to move in were told we would get our deposit check within 3 weeks. It has now been two months and haven't gotten anything yet. No one is answering nor returning our calls back. My husband had read about poor

This is my very first post on Yelp because people need to be aware of this place. Everything on the other 1 star posts are 100% accurate. They only nice to you before you sign the lease then it wear off pretty quickly.
I actually moved out at the end of September and my intention was never think back of this place but of course, it has been a struggle to get our deposit back. Even though it said on the lease and required by law to stipulate within 21 days.
Since The Broadway want to make it so difficult so ok, let's have it your way.

With so many new buildings on broadway please choose a different one! The hot tub and pool have been broken for months. The doors are propped open because the fob scanners are broken. All of the bikes have been stolen several times from the garage. For $100 a month my parking spot is constantly taken by someone else and the management is completely unreachable.

Love the none heated green hot tub and swimming pool. Where some drinks with hard handle and smoke by the pool. Emailed and asked about it. No one reply. Had a serious fire alarm, no one communicated what caused it. Add your self to Nextdoor, you will see how people really feel about this place. " I hated this place" " I mean can you imagine to live here when ur resident says that!!

TL;DR Don't live here... Still deciding? OK then read on.
By far the worst living experience I have ever had. I get the sense many of the five star reviews are from people who haven't actually moved in or just did. If you're hoping the new management has turned things around, I encourage you to read until the end of this review.
First off, you will be treated like royalty up until you sign the lease, at which point, management will act as though you do not exist. The change in responsiveness and tone is dramatic. Management does not respond to emails or phone calls and then feigns confusion when

There have been noticeable improvements to the building with the new management at The Broadway. I would like to specifically highlight how helpful, kind, and responsive Keiley and Corina are. Keiley in particular has gone out of her way to help with any questions or issues I have (which have been very few).
Their maintenance staff is efficient and thorough. The cleaning staff can be seen every day keeping the common spaces clean and power washing areas that need it. Management has addressed some security concerns by hiring more security/front desk staff to ensure 24/7 coverage.

I moved in a few months ago. I love all the amenities and how clean the common area are always kept. The staff is polite and always seem available and willing to answer any questions I may have. Residents are also friendly and everyone is following the rules of the building including wearing masks. I feel like I belong to a little community within a big city.

I am SO HAPPY we choose NOT to move forward with signing a lease here. the units look nothing like the photos, and the staff has been extremely un-responsive via email & phone to the return of our deposit funds. when we call. all hours of the day we never get an answer and i think that is a huge incline as to what we would have been able to expect had we become residents. even on our first tour/visit we spoke to a resident who hated living there so badly, they broke their lease to vacate

My partner and I moved to The Broadway from another apartment complex in Oakland. We can't speak highly enough about it. On our first experience with Keiley, we were quite impressed. She offered a great tour and gave us valuable information without it feeling like she was pressuring us. Since moving in, Keiley continues to be a highlight. Her warmth and willingness to yell find us the right people to get our questions answered, or answer them herself have been one of the best parts of living here. Finally, the quality of the amenities is top notch. Everything is in great shape and they keep

Just moved in but wanted to say that the staff here is amazing. They are so accommodating and try to help out in any way possible. Our AC broke and I was worried about the heat at night. Before I knew it the staff brought up a portable ac unit until the tech guy could come on Monday. I really appreciate the willingness to help out here. Thanks team!

Now that the newest management has taken over, things at The Broadway have improved immensely.
The new property manager, Chantee, has brought along with her wonderfully positive & go-getter energy that The Broadway so desperately needed. Management is now on top of any issues or concerns & is available at a moment's notice. Her enthusiastic energy is also reflective on the already existing team at The Broadway.
She is taking the time to ensure community rules & regulations are being followed by all tenants; the new community events taking place are beginning to create a more in-sync environment

The new manager is the fixer we've been praying for! The property in itself is the best deal you can get in Oakland... which is not saying it's cheap but rather it's the most top notch premium amenities you can ask for. A gorgeous pool that's multitudes better than The Uptown, Peloton bikes and other out of the ordinary gym amenities, and a resort like feel that'll make your family feel safe as your kids play in the courtyard. The one downer was always Greystar and their lack of communication... but that all changed in May of 2021 when Chanteé (the new manager) arrived

Where do I even begin? TLDR: DO NOT move into The Broadway. But if you have the time, please read my review below:
We moved into The Broadway in hopes that it would alleviate the whirlwind that was 2020. However, it did the complete opposite. Living at The Broadway has not only increased our stress and anxiety but had us constantly living in fear.

Leasing office is very slow to get back to you. You pay for amenities that aren't even open. The dog walk area is a joke. It is literally a small patch of fake grass. People get robbed in the parking garage. Bikes were stolen and the leasing office promised to look at the security footage, which they didn't. The response time via email is ATROCIOUSLY slow. You pay a lot for not very much. If you don't pick up your package in two days, you will get charged.

My partner and I have lived at The Broadway for a little over four months. Our journey began in November 2020 when we were looking for a one bedroom apartment in a building that allowed dogs and had central air. We looked at The Maya, The Baxter, and The Logan. The final building we looked at was The Broadway.
We were lucky enough to have Keiley as our tour guide who was very friendly and knowledgeable about the property. She showed us a few different units so we could make an informed decision. However, the vast amenities is what sold us on The Broadway over any other building. These

We lived in The Broadway from Summer 2019 to Summer 2020. Within that year we experienced multiple issues dealing with the front office and building management.
Starting with our brand new unit that was leaking to a hallway below and took no less than 6 visits over 3 months to arrive at the cause of the issue and on one occasion the building's contractors entered the unit without initially informing us as tenants, or even simply knocking our door before entering. This alone was a violation of their lease agreement.
Disruptions from very sensitive fire alarms were a monthly sometimes weekly
