Communication is terrible...Sporadic, inconsistent, discouraging, unprofessional. It seems there are just 2 people(maybe one?) in the office, taking on too much and are unable to reply to emails in a timely manner. It took me so long to get my keys I thought I might have been scammed. I checked BBB, they are acredited. At one point I emailed 2 other people besides Jennifer listed on the site and called and none of them responded to even say they can't help or to try reaching soandso.
I tried to attended a posted open house, no one was there. No response to my vm. I did eventually schedule a viewing

I’ve been trying to reach someone and have tried several different avenues to do it. This is just another one. I’ve called, left messages, emailed, and submitted a query through the website and have not received a response. I hope this isn’t indicative of how they treat tenants tenants.

The worst of the worst, especially the agent name Jennifer Bale. I have never posted any bad review in my life, but this one I have to. Me and my roommate wasted our time and money due to their irresponsible working process. SUCH AN IRRESPONSIBLE COMPANY!!! Me and my roommate applied the unit that was available three weeks ago, and Jennifer Bale said that the unit that we applied had taken to prior party so she will transfer us to new unit that will be available next week. We gladly accepted that and mentioned them CERTAINLY that we are going to move-in next week. Bale told us now we are ahead

What's the deal with this company anyway? Is anyone else having issues with getting a hold of them? For the last 3 weeks I've been trying so hard to reach out to them about a storage unit and garage that they keep listing and renewing on Craigslist. I have been calling them and leaving voicemails and emailing them, altogether about 15 times in the last 3 weeks and no one ever picks up the phone or replies to my voicemails. I applied to an apartment on the Beacon Properties website, shortly after I received an email from Jennifer Bale that my application was processed and approved and that she will send me the lease package. 2 days later she said that the owner has additional applicants and asked if I am flexible with my move-in date.
I said I was flexible and even asked what their desired move-in date was.
I sent multiple emails asking when I can move in but Jennifer Bale was never to be heard from again........
They just removed the listing and didn't even have decency to inform me

We have had such an amazing experience with Beacon and their staff! My partner and I moved into our new house in June of this year in Berkeley. The process for seeing and applying for the house during covid was so simple, safe and straightforward. Jennifer was very quick and thorough through the rental process and even met with us on a Sunday to give us the keys a day early. We live in an older house, so things naturally come up from time to time and Scott and his maintenance team have been so responsive and fast to take care of any requests or repairs we have. During this pandemic is has been difficult to view places but I love that they offered great photos plus video tours of their units. The application process was rather simple and I got a fairly quick response letting me know I was approved. We set up a date and time for me to pick up my keys from their office, it was a very nice contactless experience. I would definitely recommend them to friends and family!

After writing my initial review, someone at Beacon responded to me (within 20 minutes of posting) to say they were disappointed to see my comments. It's frustrating that it took a public review to get any communication from them, but communication did improve after that! For a little while.
They did end up replacing the windows in a bedroom - I suspect because a firefighter legally has to be able to access the room. The other window, which is equally bad, was denied replacement with no reason given. They did not respond when I asked for more detail, or if I would be held responsible for water

Have had multiple occasions where we have put in maintenance requests for simple fixes around our unit. Fixing front door knob, plumber needed, changing lightbulbs outside of unit door and apartment. Only for Beacon to mark the jobs as complete and not do anything. What makes things worst is that Beacon informs the landlords (family owned apartment) that they have completed the requests.
Unprofessional, hard to get a hold of, does not show professionalism in getting the job done. It's almost as if they want us to move out to increase the prices. Still waiting for them to change the lighT

Finally, a property management company that is responsive to maintenance requests AND not out to nickel and dime its residents.
Aaron and Scott were very friendly, honest, and helpful, and they returned my security deposit earlier than legally required in California. If I didn't relocate across the country for work, I would still be renting from them. Property managers can cause a lot of unnecessary stress for tenants, but Beacon doesn't.

I was using Beacon Properties to try and see if I can rent a property of theirs in Richmond. I went through the process of filling out an application and giving them a credit card to charge for the credit check. A few days later I noticed the charge for the credit check, which was normal. However, I never received a response from their offices advising me whether I qualified or not. I was just wondering if there was something that I missed to provide or did I forget something. At least I wanted some type of explanation.

I responded to an ad regarding a storage unit for $35.00 per month and, after seeing it, decided to rent it. The application I was given was for an apartment and required a $30.00 credit check fee and wanted a social security number. I spoke with Veronica and mentioned that I did not want my credit run for such a nominal amount in addition to the three (3) month deposit. She said that instead of a credit check I could provide a pay stub. I completed the application, with a money order and pay stub but an older man stated that I would need to have my credit be run and Veronica was wrong.

I've had many landlords and property managers. NONE have been as helpful and kind as the people working for this property management company. A special thanks to Aaron Young for helping me with my apartment search, even when I started looking at apartments he does not manage. He also offered his assistance when I was in negotiations with another property management company. These are good human beings working here and hope the next time I rent it will be through them. I never thought I would ever review a property management company, and if I did it would probably be in the negative! But my domicile is very important to me, more important than almost anything else in my life, and if it is mismanaged with ineptitude or malfeasance then that's a big deal. But if I am treated with respect and my needs are promptly taken care of then they have greatly contributed to my wellbeing and they deserve my gratitude, and BPM has been superior throughout the 12 years I've lived here, I have no complaints, how rare is that! I have lived in Beacon Property apartment(s) for the past 7.5 years, and highly recommend renting from them. Whenever I have had any requests, concerns, or questions they have been extremely fair and responsive. Aaron is adept at managing any issues that arise in a civil and straightforward manner and Miguel is pretty much the best maintenance guy ever. The property I live on is as charming and unique as the residents that live here. Five stars!

Carlon Tanner is a fraudster and doesn't follow federal laws. Unethical, unprofessional, and shady. Use caution when using his property management services. Message me for more details. He created a document after I informed him he violated the law. He claimed document previously existed, but has zero proof it existed prior to me telling him he violated federal law. No mention or proof of said document in any past correspondence nor proof it was "mailed" like he claimed it was. I hadn't planned on writing any type of review for these guys, but this is the third weekend they've ordered contractors to come by before 10am to do loud, obtrusive work in our building without any type of warning. This time they started at 8am. On a Sunday. FFS.
It's really bizarre, because I haven't been able to get them to fix our broken heater for the past month, but they can get these guys in and working on tearing up carpet and replacing windows on Sunday at 8am. Outstanding work, guys.
