Did you know that accreditation for animal hospitals is voluntary? Surprising, isn't it? Nearly 60 percent of pet owners believe that their pet's veterinary hospital is accredited when it is not. In actuality, only 12-15% of animal hospitals have gone through the accreditation evaluation process by the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA).

We are proud to call ourselves an AAHA-accredited hospital. In the United States, all human hospitals that serve people with Medicare must be accredited through an accrediting body; they undergo regular reviews and quality checks to ensure they meet standards of quality for every aspect of medical care.

I called to get a price on a spay for my dog and the girl I spoke to was very rude and hung up on me. I’ve never been here, but I’m glad I know not to go there now anyways.

I took my new puppy in and she was seen by Dr. D, whose approach is "no fear." This puppy is not used to many people yet, but she was comfortable with being examined and even getting a vaccine shot. Dr. D responded to my concerns, answered my questions, and made me feel confident that she's the right vet for this puppy.
The front office staff got me.in when I called because there was a cancellation, and I appreciated not having to wait a few weeks.
They are sweet and knowledgeable, and they take the time to go over medications and instructions.

We had to take our dog Sandy to the emergency vet about 2weeks ago. Johnstown vet was the vet on call. They took her right away and diagnosed her problem as pancreatitis. They got her hydrated and gave her the meds she needed. Wonderful place and compassionate people. Within a few days she was back to her old self. I’ll be taking her back. A big thank you for taking care of our baby.

I have boarded my dog there for years based on friends evaluations of the vet and care they give. Perhaps all that is true. But not when it comes to making money. They overbook and then the dogs there are not given the care needed. When I brought this to their attention- they were rude, so obviously allegations are correct! Is there not a limit on dogs allowed to be boarded? There’s a limit for everything else- everywhere! Dogs should not be overlooked either!!!!

My puppy had an emergency on Sunday. I called to see if she could be seen and instead of trying to help they told me to call a vet that wasn't open. Clearly they aren't as worried about people pets as they claim.

This post is for my parents whose pets were patients at JVA. Dr Assad & his staff have been Professional, Knowledgeable & Compassionate throughout the diagnosis, treatment & ongoing management of their pets who had Cancer & Diabetes. They were informative, understanding & patient especially when dealing with advanced aged clients, explaining all tests, treatments, medications & care in a way my parents could understand without making them feel dumb or inferior. They readily adjusted Insulin & increased pain medication to improve quality of life. When the time came for end of life decisions for

If I could give them more stars, I would. We are here from out of town. We had an emergency situation with our dog. I must have called 15 veterinarians and nobody would help us. They all just " We're not taking in new patients at this time". Despite the fact that our dog was lethargic and bleeding. I had almost given up hope. But then I called these amazing human beings. They didn't have an opening but made one for us anyway. They took amazing care of our sweet puppy. She's home today and better than ever. It's a shame that we don't live up here, they would have lifetime clients. I wouldn't take
