At Veterinary Clinic of Indiana, we believe in the concept of preventative care. A number of diseases and conditions can be prevented with regular veterinary care, and some diseases are more successfully treated with early diagnosis and intervention. Throughout your pet's life, we encourage regular health examinations by a doctor, and we will develop a vaccination schedule based on individual risks.
Just like us, our pets can get sick sometimes, too. At those times, Veterinary Clinic of Indiana has a number of tools that can quickly provide results, and assist with diagnosing your pet's condition. Our veterinarians and technicians examine samples under the microscope for parasites, abnormal cells, or bacteria.
Prior to any surgery, we will perform a complete physical examination. We recommend pre-anesthetic blood work to ensure your pet's kidneys and liver can process the drugs. Based on your pet's physical condition and procedure planned, we then create an anesthetic plan. We have a number of drugs to choose from, to provide the safest anesthetic event possible.
Just like humans, dogs and cats need regular dental care that includes at-home maintenance, regular professional cleanings, and oral health examinations. Dental disease doesn't just affect oral and tooth health; it can cause disease in other organs, including the heart, kidneys, and liver. In order to perform a complete oral health procedure (OHP) safely and painlessly, your pet will require general anesthesia.

We are watching my daughters dog who goes to this Clinic. We called first thing Friday morning, message said to call Kittanning if an emergency. Waited and called around 8:15 and had to leave a message. After no response we called again at 9:00. Finally talked to a live person. Explained what was going on with the dog, was told no openings… that day or Saturday. Could call Saturday morning to see if any cancellations. In the meantime the person that answered the phone said after talking to her colleagues they felt she was just missing her owner. We knew better than that so we called another

My dog Rudy and I are new in the last 2 years. I am pleased with the ease of appts. They have squeezed me in when necessary. I like the fact that they are connected to an emergency facility in Kittanning because a drive to the Monroeville ER is too far in crisis. The vets are easy to talk to and the staff are kind and efficient. I would definitely recommend that you give them a try.

We have used this vet clinic for both our dog & cat. We always have great care. I visited the other day with our cat & had my 2 year old grandson with me. As they took our cat in to be examined my grandson said his dinosaur’s tail was broke. When they returned with our cat I asked the tech if she could look at the dino’s tail & reassure my grandson… he would be ok. She examined him & took him inside to be seen. When she returned the dinosaur had a wrap on his tail & my grandson was so elated that his dino would be ok. He said thank you with the biggest smile

I had the most horrific experience today with our dog Koda. Over the weekend he just seemed off. Nothing in particular other than seeming excessively tired. Decided that i needed to bring him into the clinic to get checked just in case. After blood work it was determined he was severely anemic and his red blood cells were very low. The vet… suggested i take him to either Avets in Monroeville or a place in Pitts. for a blood transfusion as they do not have the capabilities in the office to do that..Monroeville of course is a lot closer so we opted to go there. After X-rays and an Ultrasound

My boyfriend and I want to thank Dr. Gerfert and all the staff who were working on Wednesday May 27th when we rushed our little dachshund Daphnie in for an emergency. You all acted very quickly and tried your… best to help her. We thank you for giving her a sedative and pain meds to make her trip to the er clinic easier on her. Sadly we ended up having to say goodbye to her that night. But we cannot thank you enough for all that you guys did. We will recommend your facility to anyone needing a vet. 💖

They r very nice there and it’s extremely clean, they treated my pet well but they misdiagnosed my dog twice and I ended up taking him to my regular veterinarian so I spent $103 for nothing because he didn’t get better after 5 days on the meds, my vet gave all new meds and my pet is getting better after 2 days I saw improvement, I won’t use them again
