There is no other nonprofit quite like the Y. That's because we have the presence and partnerships to help deliver positive change. It is through the generosity of others that we are able to support and give back to our members and the community. The Y nurtures the potential to improve health and well-being by helping to build a healthy spirit, mind and body for all.

The Mon Valley YMCA is committed to high-quality programs and services that focus on youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Y offers the support and opportunities that empower people and communities to learn, grow and thrive. Our focus is to assist people in learning skills and attitudes that will enrich their lives, help them grow, and realize their full potential as members of the community.
Services
The Mon Valley YMCA is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all. Christian in its heritage, it is ecumenical in its delivery of services and its membership.

The YMCA assists people in learning skills and attitudes that will enrich their lives, help them grow and develop, lead them to interracial and intergenerational understanding and to realize their full potential as members of this community. The YMCA emphasizes development of the whole person as embodied in the YMCA symbol, the triangle, which signifies the union of body, mind and spirit.
With the everyday changes that are currently taking place in our lives, the Mon Valley YMCA wants to make sure that everyone in our community has access to a place where they can connect and stay healthy. Use these fun lessons to keep your child actively learning with these virtual lessons from our Pre K Counts Teacher, Mrs. Lerda.
While the facility is closed, keep your child actively learning with these virtual lessons from some of our Preschool teachers. Activity to compare and contrast what we do that makes the Earth happy and what makes the Earth sad. The examples can be cut out and pasted onto a separate sheet of paper, they can be drawn with crayons or markers, or they can just be discussed with parents or older siblings.
Start a gratitude journal. Although these days may seem more negative than positive, there is a lot of good happening right now. It's helpful to look at the positives. Write them down everyday and then take a look back and say, I am thankful. The University of Rochester Medical Center states that journaling is simply writing down your thoughts and feelings to understand them more clearly.
Our Wellness Center consists of a 8,500 square foot multilevel workout area equipped with Cardio, Strength, and Functional Fitness equipment. Our Mezzanine Training area features cardiovascular equipment, and strength equipment, stability and medicine balls, adjustable platforms and TRUEStretch. Three group fitness rooms where we offer over 40 weekly exercise classes designed for all ages and fitness levels.

Would never go here again, I asked the lady about this sign that I was confused on. And she told me “well, read the sign it says “blah blah blah” “. In an ignorant tone. And went into her office and said sometimes u just have to read. I didn’t appreciate the attitude for me simply asking a question. Was a member for years and most of the women here are just simply rude. No one deserves to be talked to like that especially me being 23 years old.

I just retired and wanted to join the YMCA Silver Sneakers Program. Got a tour thru the facility and I was pleasantly surprised at all they had to offer. Staff was very helpful!

I can't speak for the gym portion of this facility, but I've been taking my kids to the preschool program here for several years. All the teachers are very dedicated and seem like they enjoy their job. I always highly recommend this preschool to anyone that asks. They are also keystone accredited and follow a curriculum.
The only negative things since I've been taking my child here is it extremely hectic during drop off and pick up times. It's difficult to get through the narrow hallways without running into people. Also, people (other parents included) drive like maniacs through the parking lot

Solid workout area and you can get a good workout in. But if you are using the locker room area and steam room/sauna, be careful. Rarely cleaned.

Both of my children have attended the daycare and preschool programs. They are well run by caring compassionate people. It is also very secure with swipes even to access the childcare area. Children who leave that program are more than well prepared for kindergarten! Also, the childcare offers different activities like swimming and soccer that all can be done while your child is at daycare! This is a great program for working parents! The facility overall is very well run !!

Could be better run. Because it tries to be all things to all people and offers discounted family plans, nothing is really done well. The gym is really busy and overrun with kids that are too young and aren't serious, delaying the workouts for other people. The pool is large and nice. However, in this day and age, it's inappropriate that the men's locker room has shared showers and naked adults washing around in front of very young kids. It's just nasty. Put on a towel. Dry and wet saunas, full gym. While a gym like Planet Fitness doesn't have a pool, they have other great amenities and their equipment

Best place ever to get a great workout in the Mon Valley area. Friendly staff, convenient hours & lots of equipment to do anything your into. I've been a member for over 13 years, very happy customer. No girls in make up, no ridiculousness, just go, work out & go home. They are about to remodel, can't wait to see what more they add!!

The Y is a local resource that is more than a fitness center with a variety of programs for the young (preschool, summer programs), old (craft events, training events) and in between (special movie events, trips to places).
Full fitness center with cardio machines, a mixture of nautilus and technogym and an express area. Add in the pool, gym, class offerings from yoga to spinning and personal training services to make it the complete healthy training center.
