Gretchen Marsh Johnston, daughter of founder Lex Marsh, serves as Chairman for Marsh Properties. She has also served on the Board of Trustees of Charlotte Country Day School and of Davidson College. Born in Charlotte, Mrs. Johnston attended Charlotte Country Day School, Saint Mary's and Hollins College.

The management company does not return calls. They are beyond rude in every interaction, especially Alexis who told me no one worked last week for the holiday. I moved out in July and still have yet to have my issue resolved.

I am writing this review based off an experience I had speaking with a Marsh Property office manager by the name of Candus. My vehicle was hit by a rock projected from one of their workers driving a riding lawn mower. I was given her contact information by the worker who was very pleasant and apologetic. My initial conversation advising her of the incident she was extremely rude and nasty. Every conversation after that was the same, her disposition is not customer friendly or professional. I had an absolutely wonderful experience during my time at the Elmhurst townhomes. The neighborhood is very family friendly, the property is in walking distance of restaurants in South End, and is in view of Uptown.
The units are well-kept and if you happen to experience any issues, maintenance is highly responsive and prompt.
On top of everything, the staff goes above and beyond for you. Everyone I worked with in the office was extremely kind and helpful. I highly recommend the Elmhurst townhomes to anyone looking in the area!

Avoid at all costs. Do not rent property in Heathstead. It is very poorly maintained. The community is mismanaged. It's a horrible place to live.

It breaks my heart to write this, but I’m super sad that I’m moving away from such a wonderful community, I guess that comes with growing up. Let me just say, Patty, Virginia, and Alexis are all so kind and truly made me feel important. Whenever I had a maintenance request it was handled within 24 hours immediately. John, Quincy, and all the other maintenance guys work so hard and are truly trustworthy men. When looking at apartments, Patty spent hours with me finding the perfect place. Move in was a breeze, and the units have such charm. Now if you can’t tell, they are older, but oh so cute

The Marsh Properties staff have been courteous, consistent and prompt since the moment we entered the leasing office. My family enjoys the neighborhood, it’s central location and proximity to the light rail. We’re having a pleasant stay in Sedgefield!

This is hands down the cheapest way to live in South End! Lots of the duplex units even have wood floors! We love the convenience of being able to walk to our favorite restaurants, grocery stores, and the light rail. Can't believe we have a 2 bedroom unit for $1,100. Yesssss, the units are old, but they're pretty well maintained and have so much character!

Heathstead condos are old , & marsh properties expects you to live with cockroaches, we have told them for along time & they keep saying they will spray. The roaches come in from your front door. There are many cracks in the condo & they are hiding & yet they want you to pay 1,110 monthly. It's sad

The neighborhood is great! the units are somewhat old but well maintained ... prices are fair, for the area! And the office and maintenance staff are excellent! Our stay for four years was very good!

Think twice before moving here. Horrible, horrible company, awful customer service, flooded our house and damaged hundreds of dollars worth of items and laughed at me when I asked for them to reduce our bill as an apology and has now unlawfully sent a a debt to the debt collectors for replacing a carpet in perfect condition when we left the property even after taking our full deposit and pet deposit.
On top of that- there’s more bugs than the amazon rainforest and its woefully outdated.

The leasing office location is not a comfortable walking distance from any of the apartments living spaces. The leasing staff I interacted with are overtly rude to their patrons, mismanage their priorities, and disorganized. I will not be returning for any future apartment showings. I have no desire to move here.

I have lived in two Marsh Properties locations over the course of five years and have loved my experience. Their rental prices are reasonable, they maintain their properties wonderfully, and most importantly, any time I reported a repair concern, they came to my home that day to fix it--often within an hour or two of my call.

I thought the unit I rented was adequate and pleasant although $1250 a month and no frills. I also did not feel the warmth some of the others wrote about in terms of dealing with the staff. I only rented for a short time while I was waiting to close on a house and I felt like every time I encountered one of the people working in the office, they acted like they were doing ME a favor just answering my questions. Really gave me the feeling that I had better really watch every detail when I moved out or I would get screwed. I did have some questionable expenses on my move out bill, i.e., a cost to

The best management property I've come across to date. I thought I'd only live here for 6 months- whelp 4 years later...

Patty is amazing and always a pleasure to speak with. And maintenance is on top of it. My air-conditioning unit froze up a few times over the summer and they had someone at my house looking at it within the hour. Even after hours and on Sundays!!

I'd highly recommend marsh properties!

Seriously cant' imagine having a better experience in seeking out a new living arrangement, working with people from the management company, filling out paperwork, and handling logistics. From the moment we found a property, Pat, Patty, and Virginia were the most helpful, comprehensively tuned to our wants/needs, and joyful throughout the entire process.

There are several properties that these folks manage and they really do a good job of showcasing them as they are. They don't try and throw in a bunch of fluff to make a property seem hip or trendy. They have been in the game for over
