This place was great! I was trying to find a new nail salon in town and read lots of reviews before choosing a place. I walked right in when they opened and got seated right away. Easily one of the best manicures I've had! Lots of people get tips with dip powder wrong, but they did a fantastic job. Looking forward to going back

I’m not usually one to leave a review but I had the worst experience I’ve ever had at a nail salon.
The woman who did my gel manicure ruined my nails. It’s been a month and multiple nails are cracked down the middle given how she filed them down.
Giving this review to warn others as I’ve never seen a job like this.

Just moved to Austin, so this was my first visit to Kim’s Nails. What a busy place! Kim’s is quite a little nail salon metropolis on Congress! They were so busy that I was not able to make an appointment…walk-ins only on a Friday afternoon. Despite the very busy 5 o’clock hour, I was seated within 25 minutes. The pedicure was very relaxing. I really enjoyed the foot massage, and the technician was agreeable to not using an electric nail file. She also helped with a couple of toenails that, if not correctly trimmed, can become ingrown for me. I’m grateful that she was so accommodating

I really wanted to like this place. It's very busy so I'm sure many people really like this place. I read the reviews and there are good and bad but it's close by my home so I thought why not? My first impression is that this place is BUSY! It was a Friday after all so that's most places. They sat me and my friend in chairs that someone literally just got out of. There was no cleaning or sanitizing in between clients. We got the Deluxe pedicure and it was so rushed and nothing "Deluxe" about it. I just won’t be going back. My nails looked crooked and She didn’t push/clip my cuticles so my nails obviously had a gap.Turn nails to the side and u see unpainted acrylic. A few nails are actually crooked a bit. U do not notice unless I hold my hand up. Not sure if my ashy hands scared her or she just wasn’t a fan of doing matte black nails. I paid full price and tipped. Place probably does 4 star work. I just didn’t receive it. A few other things I could gripe about but I won’t. Hope ur visit is better then mine.

My first time there yesterday. I loved it. Took my lovely cousin for a day of pampering. We were very satisfied. I told them I wanted pedicures and maybe my nails done if I had time. And the nail tech did such an amazing and fast job with my nails! Definitely making this my nail place! I tried a new nail shape and I feel like Barbie lol thanks!

I've been here twice. Once for an eyebrow wax and one to have a gel manicure. The eyebrow wax was really rushed and my eyebrows were really uneven shape and lengthwise after. I was not impressed. However upon my visit I really liked how clean the mani and pedi areas were and decided I'd come back and try a mani. I came back and got a gel mani. Everyone here is really sweet and hospitable for the most part. The complimentary drinks is a sweet touch. And everything is clean. They tend to be really busy. Not a fan of this place. My nail tech was rude and kept hitting my hand to get it closer to her, to put it down, go keep my fingers away, etc. Ugh. And I've always been told to keep the hand super relaxed so the nail techs can maneuver it. This lady wanted me to straighten my fingers (which I did anyway) but then she was turning the finger. It hurt. I didn't complain bc I just wanted to leave but she was so rude.

This will be my next go to nail salon. Mia did an excellent job matching what I wanted to the final product even though they didnt have the sticker I needed, she handpainted the flowers I wanted on my nails.
She also took an extreme amount of care into shaping my nails and was not hasty or rude like many other salons I have been to. The price was great! $75 for the full set!

The good--I love that they accept walk ins because sometimes I am in a rush or things come up and this is my go to spot. They have a points system which is great and the serve complimentary beverages like wine, sprite, margaritas and mimosas which is awesome!! It's also right next to mh favorite pizza joint Aviators so you can't miss with that! :)
The bad-- I've come here twice and I hate being up sold, the nail tech kept asking me if I wanted gel for my pedicure and if I wanted to get SNS nails ... I said no the first time. I've walked out of places due to this ugly behavior

I've been here several times and it's a hit or miss with the nail techs. I went in today and left feeling unsatisfied. I felt rushed to pick a color from the beginning and the nail tech was frustrated bc I kept asking for more color options since I was looking for a specific navy blue to match a dress. I felt pressured to choose a color after the tech seemed to get upset about the situation. I even offered to show her a picture from my phone so she knew which navy blue to look for but she refused and did not seem to like this idea.

I wanted to get a regular French manicure and I showed a picture of what I wanted to the lady who works there. She didn't listen to me well and she cut my nails all the way and sticked fake nails on my nails. What kind of French manicure is this I have no idea but that's very painful. All my fingers are hurting right now and I know these are fake nails that I never wanted. They don't communicate with you very well. I WONT NEVER GO TO THIS PLCE AGAIN!

I think this is the last time I will be coming to Kim's nails. I went on Saturday and the nail tech cut my toe nails in a weird way, that now has my big right toe leaking pus and swelled up.
Update:
The salon went out of their way to find my name in the points system. Called me to come in and gave it looked at/fixed. I came in, and Kim herself the owner looked at it, and took care of me. With that, I will raise the review to 3 stars since they care about their customers enough to make things right. It is now 2 days later after I came in and I am feeling a lot better.
