Carlyle Place Apartments is the easiest and most convenient home living arrangement I have ever had. Two blocks from the Eisenhower Metro stop to get to work reduces my daily need for a car. Covered in-building parking means no digging out of snow and less weather wear and tear on the car. Walking distance to restaurants, banks, church, shopping, a movie house and Old Town Alexandria makes its location about as convenient as it gets! We are delighted to be here!

As soon as lease is up, out of here. No sticker, car gets towed regardless if vehicle is saved under residence and you pay the fee for the space..on top of paying another 100 for a new parking sticker. Then you have to pay the fee for the tow. Place just wants to steal your money and has no sympathy for its guests. Management doesn’t care whatsoever.

Due to COVID, I have not lived in the apartment during the past entire year.
The worst thing is I still need to pay ~$55 water bill EVERY MONTH though I don't live there at all and did not use the water for my one bedroom apt!
I hate the way the water bill is charged which is unfair for me to pay others' spending.

Where do I start. I think my favorite carlyle experience was when a horrendous sewage odor was coming out of the kitchen sink and maintenance said “huh, I dunno” and then closed out the work order. I also had to repair the toilet and shower on my own because they couldn’t figure it out.
On the topic of parking, your car will probably get towed at one point or another. They claim that predatory A-1 towing is helping them keep spots open for residents. There are SO many empty spots at any given time. Availability for residents is really not an issue. Plus I was a resident with a valid parking

We lived here for two years. I wouldn’t wish that upon anyone. There is mold growing in the gym that they refuse to clean. Our apartment was improperly sealed. This caused winters to be awful. We had several occurrences of water leaking into our apartment. The solution, towels. The staff there rotates so often it is hard to know who still works in the front office. Some of the staff have been rude, nasty and condescending, and that is to a family living in their building.
Your car will get towed. Even if it is there for a legitimate purpose in its designated spot. We had two vehicles get towed

Per square foot price is good and the apartments are large. The pool needs to be heated. It only gets sun 5 hrs. The pool would be used a lot more when heated to 73 degrees or more. It takes until midsummer for pool to get warm on its own.

We moved into the building July, 2020. The Office staff was very friendly and helpful. Our unit was ready for move-in and it was spotless! We've been here for nearly 4 months and love it. Everyone from the office, maintenance, and concierge is great. The neighborhood is lovely and the residents are very nice. Our apartment is spacious and in good condition. A+ place - From a verified resident on ApartmentRatings

I have lived in Carlyle Place for more than 2 years and used to love everything about this place. But things are not like before unfortunately. The manager and the assistants no longer see the need to listen to your need and respect you when you are a tenant! I think they are better off buying a robot than having John Paul dealing with people! The manager tells you something over the phone and then denies it in the email! The building is not that safe either as bikes (including mine) are stolen frequently from the property. If you are looking to rent, do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.

5% increase of the rent over one year, no response to our emails (4 emails), had to pass to the leasing office twice to get NO response...
The residence is ok although noisy on every side of the building due to the metro (west side) or Eisenhower Avenue where cars are making big accelerations at night (east side). Would benefit from better windows.

Edit: my comment got a response saying I would be contacted the same day. Not a surprise I haven't been contacted at all.

I had the same experience as everyone else. It is a great place to live, but the lowest rent increase was 5%. I did reach out to the leasing office to see if we could negotiate. I was told they couldn’t, and if I was to give notice, they would be leasing my apartment $227 more. But they are currently leasing apartments for less than mine. It is disappointing.

We love the building, the staff, the location, and we would have loved to stay! We just got our renewal and the rent has gone up 9.5% which is ridiculous . We're already paying above market rate for the area as evidenced by the rates we've seen while looking, especially with the metro being closed this summer! This huge increase doesn't even take into account the fact that we're paying $275 for parking for two cars, $50 for pent rent, and wanted to see pricing for a 2 bed.

To add salt to the wound our same 1 bed floor plan is advertising at $30 less than what we pay now on

I lived at Carlyle place for a year. I living there because I was on orders for the military. The staff was always very helpful and the location was incredible. The apartment is located close to the Eisenhower Metro station and you can even walk to King station as a backup on the blue line. The building even has a great barbershop located on the ground retail level. I got my haircuts there weekly. In addition there is a great deli, Fedex store and a nail salon for a manicure. The management staff was always friendly to work with. The leasing consultant Asad Khan was great to work with as

While the apartments are attractive, they are overpriced. Additionally, we pay the $100/month for parking. However, our car was broken into. The apartment did not notify tenants when the break in occurred. Moreover, we discovered the apartment does not keep video surveillance of the parking areas (and, mind you, in the winter the doors that allow entry to the elevators without passing the concierge, do not lock, meaning the whole place is unsecured to the public). Management is slow to respond. Do yourself a favor and rent somewhere else.

I lived at Carlyle for two years. We left to rent a townhouse in Old Town since we yearned to have a little yard and be back in a neighborhood.

Carlyle is a good place to live. We never had any major issues while living there. The manager of the building was always nice to us and tried his best to accommodate us when we had requests or concerns. We had a very old dog with us when we moved in and they were always nice to her, giving her biscuits etc.

We lived in a two bedroom unit on the 9th floor. There was a lot of turnover in the apartments around us, but I think that is normal for the Alexandria

Carlyle Place is absolutely beautiful. This is the first community I remember saying that I loved living here. If you're able to brush off a lot of the downsides they provide otherwise. This place wins due to it's convenience. Luckily other properties are going up and are rumored to be better.

The Pros:
1. Located next to the Eisenhower Metro Station
2. Walking distance to Whole Foods
3. Running Trail in the area
4. Movie Theater next door
5. 2 PM Concierge Desk
6. Covered Parking
7. Elevator Access
8. Deli downstairs
9. Nicely Decorated
10. You can impress your friends with the appearance

Carlyle Place is a beautiful community. I lived here for 7 years. It's conveniently located next to a metro station and the late night concierge availableness is wonderful. During most of my stay it was pleasant.
Some bad things about here is that: For me, there are mites in the carpet that bite. So if you're allergic to many things. This place wouldn't be good for that. The units that face the street have poor window installation. As a result, you may need to use plastic on your windows to keep the temperature steady. In the winter it gets extremely cold and in the summer it's hot. So my bill

I have never felt compelled to write a bad review, but the actions of this management team were unbelievable. If I could give zero stars, I would.  I'm not sure if it was racial discrimination, but they singled out my boyfriend very inappropriately and unprovoked. Very scary, threatening, abusive language and body language, beyond unprofessional behavior.  I am utterly shocked. I believe the manager's name was Tony. When it was brought to his superiors attention (as it should be), it was disregarded, even though there were many witnesses. There was no apology, no corrective action,

This is THE best apartment building that I have ever lived in. I was nervous after reading reviews about being towed, but I never had a problem with it when I lived there from 2014-2015. I can't say enough nice things about their leasing office or Tom, the concierge. They are professionals and have compassion when the time calls for it. I am a little sad leaving it behind, but it was time for me to get a place of my own. I would highly recommend it to anyone. They frequently have apartment mixers to include free breakfast, ice cream socials, or dinner up in the club room. The only strike against

My husband and I lived here for about a year in 2012 before moving out to our own place.

they do tow if you dont display your parking sticker correctly but thats not why I'm writing a bad review.

I work at the hoffman building down the street and had to drive in today and decided to park down in the area reserved for retail parking. I was actually FOLLOWED by Ron outside after I'd told him I just wanted to go to subway but decided to head to starbucks first. He followed me out and accused me of going to the metro. I had to sit down with the manager and explain myself like a little child

Pretty nice apartment!

Close to Eisenhower Metro Station. Really clean. They have a nice swimming pool, a good gym, a great club room with a pool table, and sweet staffs. Their rooms are bigger than the average around here. Some rooms have a fantastic view. Oh, the rent included the utility. It's a big save.

I rented at Carlyle Place for just under a year after moving to DC for a military position. Location is excellent - right across from the Eisenhower Ave. metro stop, about a 15 minute walk to Old Town Alexandria, walking distance to many restaurants and AMC movie theatre, and across the street for the express ramp to 495 E toward Baltimore.

Before renting here, I looked at Courts at Huntington and someplace near Largo. Courts at Huntington was also nice. I wanted to stay under 1900/month.

Cost is on par with the area, but see if you can find a move-in special for a free month's rent. This

Who are all these people getting their cars towed??? I've been in the building for 3 years and no tows, no issues.

Also, it is insane to say that maintenance should take the trash down the garage ramp. VERY unsafe. I don't like seeing trash cans in the elevators in the early AM either but I don't want the staff to be injured - seriously, those cans are the recycling anyway, there's not much of a smell.

I think this building is the best priced high-rise near Old Town proper. Move-in is cheaper than everywhere else nearby except Carlyle Mill, where the apartments open onto

I lived in this building for 17 months and found the office to be pretty unorganized. Although the building is clean, and the amenities are nice, these bonuses did not make up for the negatives below:

1. They told me I cancelled my elevator reservation when I was moving out which I never did. So the day I moved out I had to use the community elevator which made it very hard for the movers.

2. THEY TOW YOUR CAR. If your pass ever falls off your rear view mirror, your car will be automatically towed with no check at all. This is $150 down the drain. They must be getting a cut from the
