The concierge guy Kevin can make even picking up packages like a nightmare. I have witnessed many times that he treats Asian and whites so differently. He refused to let them pick up packages and even pretend he cannot understand their English… how rude!

They apartment staff just don’t care at all. It seems like the residents are the ones who get paid to follow their irrational “rule”.
I guess the only reason they can keep renting out the room is because of the location. It is just a college dorm.
Besides, not a luxury apartment at all(besides the price haha). Rude management and front desk, bad amenities, smelly hallway. With the same price, you can get a really good apartment experience anywhere else in Boston.

We spent the month of August at The Greenhouse Apartments. Concierge staff was excellent, Johnny, Kevin, Eric etc...were professional & helpful. Building is secure, fob is needed to acess inner doors and gym. When we moved in the disposal was leaking, Kevin came up, checked it out and maintenance was up within an hour to replace it. The maintenance staff are always painting and working on various projects. The gym is cleaned daily and had enough equipement/machines for a good workout. The pool area is clean and very pleasant. The patio out back is very nice for reading etc...Myles at leasing

My wife and I enjoyed living here, largely due to the convenience of the location (close to Green Line and Prudential Center) and the ease of living (elevator, front desk, gym, etc.). Garage parking underneath the apartments was also convenient and well-priced, and we used the spacious gym quite a bit. Pet-friendly is a plus and not always easy to find in the area. Johnny and Kevin at the front desk are some of the nicest people ever -- it was honestly great to see them each day. We also worked with Kim in the leasing office, who was beyond excellent. The business office was usually effective

If I was able to afford another apartment within that location that leased to undergrads, I would’ve left a long time ago. Ever since I moved in, there always had to be some type of issue with the apartment. The vent in my apartment is so bad, it transmits odors from my neighbors, so whenever they cook, my entire apartment smells like their cooking. I’ve complained so much and literally nothing is ever done. There was a leak in my apartment for about four years and no compensation was ever provided. You basically have to nag them to get things done and they always mask problems but never actually

Rudest management and security
Have a baby grand piano at home and was knocked by the security for three times in a roll for practicing at 4:00 in the afternoon. (It’s not even night) There were a lot of musicians at GH and the apartment welcome music students but in fact they don’t care any. We added a lot of sound proof on the piano, on the door and wall yet got complained by a neighbor and they plus the manager refused to talk nor deal with the issue. When we moved out the house, the elevator was in fixed for three months already, when we don’t have the larger elevator to move stuff and

Pros:
-Great location, can't ask for better in Boston.
-Apartments are up to date and decently sized.
-Good amenities (gym, study space, back patio area) and nice to have a pool in the summer.
-Concierge is great and very friendly and helpful. Nice that they accept packages and hold them until you can pick them up.
Cons:
-THIS IS NOT A NON-SMOKING BUILDING. You take the risk if your neighbors smoke that it will come through the vents into your apartment.
-Good luck if you have noisy neighbors -- soundproofing in this building is pretty bad - nothing changes even with complaints.
-Expensive

I have lived at the Greenhouse for almost a year. The location is perfect and the views from the apartments are beautiful. The staff at the place are all incredible; extremely pleasant people and helpful at all times. I love the concierges in the building, they are all very friendly, and so are the people that do all the maintenance. The leasing office is crazy busy, but the ladies there always go out of their way to be helpful.

The only thing that I dislike are some of the young people that live there who aren't very respectful and don't practice common sense.

I'm happy I live

The stupidest apartment for you to live. The business office does not know how to do their jobs, and they don't care if the residents need help or not.

My friends lived here, and the concierge had it in it against us. Terrible management and concierges (altho some are okay. The location is good, and the apartments were nice, but overall would not recommend. They ask for an incredible amount of money and it doesn't really hold up... There was an elevator out of service for literally 8 months, and they redid the windows for like a year and for that entire time it was super hard to sleep in.

This place is a joke, a disgrace. I was told the exterminator was supposed to come here. No signs there was one ever here. This is unacceptable! Not even a mouse trap for an attempt to solve this issue. It's been 6 days with us and my dog living with at least one mouse. When I reported this issue 6 days ago I was given an attitude by the concierge. I will now being calling a 24hour exterminator and let's see if Greenhouse will reimburse me. Correction, i called and they actually won't come out because I live in an apartment building. If my dog ends or I end up sick because of this

The concierge and management team are always so kind and helpful, it has really made every aspect of living here so easy and convenient. I love my living space and the location of the building. Being right next to the prudential center/t/ heart of Back bay is unparalleled!

The location is perfect being in the middle of the city and is a safe place due to the helpful concierge! The apartments are clean and spacious and has great amenities like a swimming pool, laundry on every floor, and even a library to study at! Love living here!

Great place to live as a student for it's location (near Northeastern University) and close to the green/orange line. Lived here for 2 going on 3 years and it's been the least stressful renting experience to date. The maintenance in the building has been incredibly reliable (usually same day or next day) for any issues in the apartment. The rooftop pool is beautiful (newly renovated) and the gym equipment is better than I expected (sanitary, new, real spin bikes). Laundry and trash rooms on every floor are super convenient. Package turnover is quick and I've never experienced any lost/stolen packages

Fantastic location if you're a student at any of the colleges in back bay/fenway. Lived here for 3 years, will miss the concierge service, gym, central A/C, many friends who live here too and the safety and quietness. Building is always being renovated and improved. Management cares!

This is an interesting place to live, and overall I would recommend it.

To start with, the location is incredible. Situation directly across from the Christian Science Plaza and literally two minutes walking from the Prudential Center, it is prime real estate. Additionally, its proximity to Fenway, Newbury, and South End (reasonably walking, 15-20 minutes, 5 minutes in a car) make it pretty awesome to live.

The building itself is interesting, both good and bad. Management seems to try/cares. The building itself is frought with students, and that carries all the inherent dorm shenanigans, noise

I have enjoyed residing in the Greenhouse apartments for the past 5 years. The staff is consistently excellent, from Johnny at the concierge desk to Leslie and Ed in management, as well as the always helpful maintenance folks. Everyone definitely goes above and beyond.

It's a cost-effective, friendly environment in a great location. I enjoyed the Greenhouse's amenities, which are currently being further upgraded. I'm certainly sorry to leave (for unrelated reasons).

If you're a student and want to pay a premium for an old serviced building that is centrally located then this is a great place.
Otherwise stay away. Leasing office had one 3 BDR which we took at a higher rate on the premise the kitchen and bathrooms were renovated. Bathrooms were not renovated. Air Con unit leaked on the carpet. The elevators break constantly. They replace the carpet between tenants, but decided to bill us 1.3 to replace it over two "stains". Happy to share the photos. We didn't wear shoes in the house, smoke, or spill any drink/food. They can let you in if you're locked out

The Greenhouse is divided into North and South Towers but this review is for the South tower where I've lived for 2 years.

Pros (in the order of awesomeness):
1. Hot international eye candy.
2. Rooftop "pool" (aka communal tub) with a derriere kicking view of the city.
3. 24 hour Shaws nearby (this Shaws sells beer, wine and liquor until 11 pm !!!!!) You read it right that's 5 !s
4. Lower level garage with Valet parking ($240/month for residents at the time of this writing)
5. Walking distance to NU, Berkelee College of Music, Cheesecake Factory, P.F. Changs, Coldstone
