I love living at the Nic on Fifth, the staff here is amazing. The building is well maintained and provides a beautiful relaxing environment. My maintenance requests are taken care of immediately. The move in process was easy and stress free. The leasing staff and building manager are always a pleasure to work with. I highly recommend living at the Nic. It was the best decision I made.

I really enjoyed my 3 years at Nic on Fifth. I recently moved due to COVID and the MN lockdowns, but had a great experience there. The leasing staff and concierge folks are excellent, especially Kelly and Keith. I had some great neighbors and enjoyed the amenities like the pool, hot tub, and fitness center. Great access to downtown hot spots that will rebound in time and the Northeast area. Shawn

Great location for those utilizing the light rail, but horrid management team disqualifies the apartment's claim to be luxury status.
EDIT: Just spoke with Jenny N. over the phone. I discussed with her 3 specific issues (there have been more) that I experienced over the last 4 years:
1. An inebriated tenant once urinated on our door in the middle of the night and this was very difficult to get attention to from the management team. This would not have required persistence on my end from a proper luxury apartment.
2. When the 2020 pandemic hit, I asked for a temporary rent reduction to help with

Having lived in THE NIC for 4 years, I can warmly recommend this building. Exceptionally friendly and consistent management & staff. Exceptionally convenient location, with the light rail, river and retail in walking distance. Nicely laid out apartments with solid finishes. Beautiful and convenient amenities; especially, the pool deck and gym. Definitely worth a look at.

I lived at Nic on Fifth for about a year & overall loved my experience. The place was very clean, all problems I had got resolved, the staff was kind, the 24 hour security was a great option, & I can't say anything bad about the staff or building itself. It's an awesome place to live and a great people working there who focus on customer service.
My only complaint came when lease renewal came up. The rent increase was WAY too high. I would be paying over $2,000 a month (with rent & utilities) with the new lease. For a studio in downtown Minneapolis, that price was WAY too

The building is nice enough but don't live here unless you don't mind listening to the constantly blaring bells of the metro train all day and night. I'd recommend picking an apartment a few blocks further off the metro line unless you're a very heavy sleeper.
I don't understand why Minneapolis allows this. It is the only major city I've lived in where the train has bells that friggen loud, that ring endlessly as they leave the stop.
In most places with a metro line there's like one small beep, if anything, and people just know not to stand on the tracks if

This is the worst building. The management company is absolutely horrible. They treat the residents so poorly that everyone left and went to 365 Nicollet, L45, new one above Trader Joe's, etc. Mainly 365. This includes the younger and older residents. The "freshmen class" (what they call themselves) who originally moved into the building when it first opened all left due to the horrible property management. Positive reviews are all from before with a different management company. The pool is always closed, I think they have been "remodeling" the hot tub for the past

That was then, this is now. I moved to MSP over a year ago and chose the Nic as my new homebase. As a "luxury" downtown Building, one expects a higher level of care and attention. In any event,
Things that have changed between lease signing and now:
No year round hot tub
No on site yoga
Rude treatment of residents who had reserved a charity event
No year round grill access
Broken gym equipment
Outdoors TV remotes "lost" for months
Inoperable elevators (try climbing 14 flights)
Broken microwave kitchen (for months)
Safety issues in garage
Vaguely threatening emails

Ahhhh how I miss the Nic! Sarah and Tiffany who are the assistant manager and manager are awesome! If I didn't have to move to Texas I would still be living there now....and if I ever move back to Minneapolis that's where I'm living!
Pros:
-Management as previously mentioned. They are so kind and always willing to help out and work with you.
-Pool/amenity deck is gorgeous. It's surrounded by all these beautiful buildings. Who needs a rooftop really! I thought the 6th floor deck was great.
-location! So close to pretty much everything! And skyway connected. Light
