Lived there for around 2+ years. In my experience they deserve negative. If I write the whole story will be too much to write but one thing is sure the starting 2 months and the last 1 month were really a nightmare. Except for Tobesta I am disappointed in the management they have zero understanding of someone's issues and concerns.
I am really glad that people had a 5-star experience, unfortunately, it wasn't the case for me.
Thanks

We lived at Crystal Square for 2 years and at first it was great but the second year was a dreadful experience and it keeps going even after we moved out with additional fees. In spring 2020, roaches were coming in through our walls and when we put in a maintenance request, we were given a single sticky bug trap. We tried to solve the situation ourselves but it ended up being the main reason we moved out. Then after we moved out, they charged us for the infestation removal, which we wanted them to deal with when we lived there. The second issue was a pipe leak that led to mold that wasn’t cleaned

I can't thank Crystal Square enough for how amazing they have been to me during this long year. Their graciousness, patience and understanding were second to none and I've been living on my own for 20 years. The building was always clean and fresh. The studio is huge and it has GAS! Convenient to the metro well very considering the building was above it!

The staff at Crystal Square make the experience! Elyse Hunter goes above and beyond to be personable with the residents - a conversation with her always leaves you smiling. Bobbie and Tonya at the concierge go above and beyond to help and never let you feel like anything you ask would be an inconvenience. I have found the service here at Crystal Square to be great and appreciate that the staff takes the time to remember your name. The gym is always clean and equipment is fixed in a timely manner. Also, thank you for enforcing COVID mitigation measures for the safety of everyone. I enjoy participating

I used to have high opinion about this place that I have lived in for more than THREE years. These are pros and cons:
pros:
1) large units, like +900 sf for one bedroom
2) nice staff (maintenance and office)
3) location
4) pool
cons:
1) you are being charged for an upgraded apartment but the fact is it is only on the surface. When you move in you see every month there is pipe break or electricity cut and something relevant to building age that requires water shut down or power shut down or elevator issue
2) Noise, Noise, Noise
too much construction in common areas, gym, pool with so many

I have lived here in Crystal Square since 1990 ( 30 yrs) These apartments are the largest units of all the apartment buildings in the area. I have lived in 3 different apartments and my current unit is newly renovated. I love having a washer/dryer in my unit and the open floor plan is a bonus compared to my older units. The only unfortunate… issue is I lost my large walk-in closet to a smaller coat closet. I have been able to re-arrange many things in the closet, but I do miss the large walk-in. I am very happy to live here and plan on staying even longer.

Update 11/26/2019
Still having issues with the water and electricity being shut off over the past several months. Highly recommend staying away from this place, if you practice showering regularly.
Constant construction and noise.
Construction projects outside and inside go on until the late hours of the night.
Frequent water and electrical shut offs (weekly)
Tennant elevators constantly being used by construction crew and creates a major "elevator traffic jam" from 6am -11 am.

If you read some of these reviews, you'll see some of the 5-star reviews (probably most of them) are from their staff.
That should tell you all you need to know about the integrity of this complex.
The property itself was OK. The management and staff were terrible--it has been the worst apartment complex I've ever dealt with.
In terms of the… property, they cut corners wherever possible. You'll find the combo washer/dryer unit in the kitchen, because they can advertise that a washer+dryer is available in-unit, even though it is horrible, and can't handle more than 2 items at a time. Even

We are current tenants living in this apartment. All we said and posted are true and factual. We can't post negative things about Crystal Square Apartments as they will delete them all (they've already deleted… our posts both on Facebook visitor post section and our community website). Not only did they poorly managed the relationship with their clients (see reviews from my roommates below for details) but they also did a bad job on reputation management. We have rights to speak out and defend them regardless of how difficult it will be. We will continue fighting for it unless it's solved

Community members, this building has just increased my monthly rent by 95% and is forcing me to pay. Please seriously consider continuing your lives in this predatory loan-level corporate:
So my lease with the building will end August 2nd, and we currently pay $2960 for the 3-bedroom apartment, which is around the normal price in this area.
… According to the lease, my roommates and I should give the building a written notice 60 days before August 2nd. Unfortunately, we forgot, because it is common practice, at least in all 4 buildings I've ever lived in in Crystal City/Pentagon City, to

Size matters at Crystal Square!!! Spacious apartments that even have large balconies! Awesome amenities - the pool is is huge, you can get any workout done in the fitness center, and the rooftop space is a great breath of fresh air. We haven't even hit the best part - you can get to the metro without ever having to step outdoors because Crystal Square is directly connected to Crystal City underground with great shops and restaurants in walking distance.
