10/10 don't recommend.
1. Depending on where your apartment faces, particularly the pool, it's ridiculously loud.
2. They rent out some units on a temporary, Airbnb style, so there's a revolving door of people. Look them up on "Barsala"
2. They don't have cameras in the halls or stairways. Only the 3 entrances. I had a scary incident happen and was shocked to learn there was no footage, which the building only shared 5 days after the incident.
3. I posted flyers asking tenants if they had any safety issues as I wasn't satisfied with the response from the building and now I've been served with

Absolutely hellacious rental experience. Aside from the exorbitantly priced rent, this is clearly not a management company that cares about transparency for its residents. There are several suites on each floor that operate like a hotel room/airBNB, meaning there are constantly people in and out - often at odd hours of the night. This was absolutely not disclosed to us when we were looking to move in, and created an obnoxious noise problem. The building is new, and boasts a lot of modern furnishings, but don't be fooled. Our roof (as well as the ceiling in the hallway) always leaked whenever it

They will not inform you of this and so I will! BEWARE: This office hides and miscommunicates with potential residents. Keep all paper trails!
You only have "24 HRS" after you submitted your application to receive your full deposit. Even if it takes their office over the 24hr window to verify your income (which it does 2-3 days). If you are not approved, even though you've provided all required documentation within the 24hr window, and you were waiting for their office to update you if your income has been approved, etc. They will not honor this, and you will not receive your reservation fee refund

5 star staff.
The staff at Vida East make this place. Huge shout out to Max, who helped me in a tight bind. I had a very large, heavy package that was dropped off at the complex that I needed to return. He was there for me every step of the way while I was at work. He took care of everything that I could not attend to while at work, and after hours he was there to help me move the package into my car. He is the man! I am very grateful for his help, as I've never been at a complex where a member of the staff went above and beyond like he did. Like every complex, there are problems along the way

I've lived in both Cedar Broad and Atrium Loft apartment, so I feel that I have some very good insight.
The rent for all 3 properties are comparable, but Atrium Loft's rent is all-inclusive. Meaning, you will not be charged monthly for electricity, water, gas, AND PARKING. Cedar Broads and Vida East charge extra for parking (~$100 a month). And given the proximity to "tougher" area of Richmond, you will see MANY cars' windows broken into if you street park near these properties.
NEGATIVES: Not the best bang for your buck at Vida East. The ABSOLUTE BIGGEST DOWNSIDE: The walls are PAPER THIN and

I have lived in Vida East since November 2019. The building is super modern, clean and safe! The amenities are great- there is a pool, rooftop, movie room and club room. The management is great and super responsive. Your packages are held in a room for safety which I really like. Best part, Vida East is pet friendly! :)

I have lived here for one year and it has been great! Even with Covid being a factor, the management has constantly made efforts to create a positive and warm environment. Parking is GREAT. Building in new and clean and management could NOT be any nicer! Everything has been up to or beyond our standards and expectations. Great experience so far! (And the TRASH FAIRY Rocks!)

This is a brand new apartment complex in a great location - walking distance to Shockoe Bottom and there are still apartments that have yet to be lived in! As people who have looked at dozens of apartment complexes in the past 2 years (military moves, am I right?), let me just say that our experience at Vida East was beyond our wildest expectations from start to finish. After a frankly disappointing apartment hunt up until that point, we walked into the lobby of Vida East after seeing their leasing sign on the building.
