The location, atmosphere and price can’t be beat. The rooms however need updating. The mattresses are rock hard and there is literally 70’s wood paneling on the walls with No fridge or microwave in the room. That being said, the front porch fireplace and rockers along with the den/family room inside almost make up for the rooms. All in all I would recommend staying here just don’t be taken off guard when you get in your room.

The only reason this hotel gets above 1 star is for it’s location. The walls are thin and you can hear everything from the sides and loud footsteps from above. The bed was extremely uncomfortable and the pillow was the worst I’ve ever used. Historic and dated doesn’t have to mean grungy and uncomfortable. Also, there is only one entrance, so unless you’re lucky enough to get a front spot, you have to walk a good ways to get to the entrance. Breakfast wasn’t bad, but I would not stay here again.

The 1937 charm, the staff, the food, rooms, the porch with the rocking chairs/ fireplace where you could interact with fellow visitors and enjoy the view of the Smoky Mountains, the cookies and brownies waiting for us in the afternoon, and the love you felt that flowed through decades in that place. I felt I had step back in time and been enveloped in the arms of love. I even got teary-eyed when leaving.

My parents and I started staying here in the late 1940's, and continued visiting many times every year for many decades. Still have some of the photos too. The Maples became good friends, it was like staying… with family, and so wonderful the new owners are continuing the great tradition. The front porch is to die for. The pool is fabulous. A dedicated parking lot. Delicious food. So many memories. So grateful this historic and wonderful Inn is still there, giving great memories for more generations. Highly recommend this Inn. Here is one photo from November 1954 with my grandparents.

First and foremost the location was the best , we walked anywhere we wanted to go. Really enjoyed the staff and our morning breakfast there. Not a fan of the rooms though, certainly could of been cleaner. Nice… size king bed but my side felt like it had fallen down. Bathroom is as somewhat updated but very tiny, vanity was way to small. If your looking for the ideal location this is it but if your looking for more modern it’s missing

Absolutely great experience! Last minute booked this hotel for a quit get away with my husband! We loved the older style hotel and the decor! The room was very clean and staff was so friendly! Great location to… walk to anything downtown! The breakfast was a nice bonus! Much more than the normal you get at hotels. Sausage eggs biscuits and all made by the sweetest ladies!

This hotel is so adorable and quaint for being nestled in the middle of the strip!!! I loved how old fashioned this inn was, as well as clean and well kept! The double room was very nice and cozy, comfy bedding and everything. Breakfast was great every morning and I forgot her name but the woman serving it was so sweet. I also enjoyed the tea and lemonade and sweets they keep out during the day. Very cute place to stay when visiting Gatlinburg!! I would definitely love to come here again
