Services
Kate aka Chroma K8 is the owner of Chroma K8 Beautique, her passion for hair started as a child growing up in the south suburbs in the 80s. Curling irons, braids and hair spray became part of her everyday life. She attended Aveda Institute Minneapolis, graduated in 1998 and moved back to Chicago. In search of a strong foundation and education she landed at Michael Anthony Salonspa.
Please inform us at least 24 hours in advance if you need to reschedule your appointment, a 50% charge will be incurred for any cancellations less than 24 hours and 100% charge for no shows. 2 hour metered parking in front of the salon or free local street parking. You can now load more meter time right at the chair with your smartphone or tablet with the new Park Chicago app.

I desperately needed a hair cut to address my split ends. Mary brought my hair back to life with my new cut. She addressed all of my concerns and my hair looks so healthy. The hair cut is exactly what I wanted. The salon is also super cute, the staff is very friendly and I love that it's eco-friendly. I also picked up some great hair products.

I've been seeing Kate for my hair for about 2 years now. She is a lovely, warm woman who actually listens to what you want to do with your hair. She'll also offer advice that will work best for your hair. I never used to wear my hair curly until she taught me how to coax it into something gorgeous.
Everyone at Chroma K8 is the best of the best. No matter whose chair you are in, you're in good hands. They also work with Green Circle to divert hair clippings and leftover hair color/supplies from landfills.

Two years ago I moved from out of state and had spent 4 years with repeatedly mediocre stylists. I had been faithful to one but they moved away and it was time to find a new home for my hair. After reading a lot of reviews I felt that Chroma K8 fit my needs. They focus on natural hair products and a number of the clients who have reviews also have textured/curly hair. Came in after realizing how close this was to my house. Mary was awesome and deserves a 6 star review to be honest. She gave me an awesome undercut and was SO friendly. I had Mary as my hair dresser when I came here to donate hair for Wigs For Kids. The experience overall was amazing! At first I was second guessing cutting off 12 inches, but then she reassured me and said she would keep the length below shoulders. She did exactly that! (When strait it's below shoulders). Also, she was very careful while putting my hair in the rubber bands, and did a beautiful job curling my hair. I documented the experience on youtube, and if you would like to watch it, my channel name is Squish Craft. I DEFINITELY recommend coming here for hair donations and will be returning

I can't say enough good things about this place. Kate is so warm and friendly. It's easy to see why people love coming here! My color looks amazing and the new assistant did a fabulous job on my blow out. My hair turned out incredibly soft and straight - which is not easy to do with my thick, wavy, long hair! I was super impressed.
