I'm very very man I like in mainstreet apartment building and the guy above me turned the heat off in his apartment suite and the pipe burst and water came down and half soaked my bed that I had for less than two months and I can't even fix the light bulb where the water is coming through and destroying my bed and now I have to sleep on the floor until this is fixed and this isn't the first problem I have had with mainstreet and there service plus they were going to give me a call back in five minutes and now it's almost 3 hours and no call back I'm not to happy.

I just moved in to one of mainstreet buildings here in Oliver. Now the building is very clean for the most part including the laundry room.
My problem is with the tenant above me that has a young child that runs, stomps etc almost all day/night long.
I have spoke to the tenant herself and absolutely nothing changed. Then I complained to the building manager who did speak with that tenant, and then I get told to try and bare it for a week more as they are waiting for money to clear and then they are moving down to basement.. what the hell kind of response is that I ask?
Then I called head office

Worst customer service ever.
The management is really bad.
Never follow up on work orders and take weeks or at least months to fix the issues.
Also, ask us to call everytime and take follow up.
After all the frustration when you call head office they transfer you back to regular associate when requested to talk to executive manager.(probably they are scared to take customer complaints).
Also give excuse of sick leave and off. As if the management has only 1 staff.
As a customer we are paying rent to make our house better for living but not providing enough for the money they charge.

Currently living in a Mainstreet apartment building in NW Edmonton. They do not take care of the building, it is dirty and becoming worse. They refuse to get cameras for at least the main doors. There is mold and water damage I found in my apartment, that was merely painted over to hide it. Roaches and other pest problems too.
When you read the description of Mainstreet company at their website, it says they buy old, run down buildings and make them nice for people to live. So far, they don't want to take care of their tenants, only to collect rent.
I recommend being extremely careful

DO NOT RENT THROUGH MAINSTREET. I have had problems after problems with them. The worst being that they RARELY turn on the heat in the building. I have never been more sick than I have this year, since I moved into one of their buildings (which is in a nice area too so you'd expect better services and treatment). It is constantly freezing in here. We have to wear jackets and thick slippers in the winter since the temperature isn't adjustable and the insulation is so poor in their cheap buildings. Rent through anyone else. It is a nightmare with them and you will never find comfort in

Their customer service and treatment is a joke for customers,very rude and disrespectful people and get all grumpy when they actually have to do their job they're hired to do. The building we signed a lease at was, i kid you not a (crackhouse). They wont give us our money back even tho we didn't move in cuz it is too unsafe to live. Only transfer. Now we have to apply again to some other mainstreet that we don't want to but have no choice. We just want our money back and be done with them and get on with our lives and go to boardwalk

Beware!!! Worst renting company! Don't ever rent with them, managers are the worst. There is cockroach's and nice. The most terrible management I have ever experienced if there was even below zero I would give it to them. I sincerely hope the company shuts downs and the management in Edmonton for apartment building in 117ave get what they deserve. This is supposed to be your home where you rest but management and even the so called investors are vindictive.

The types of renters that they rent to are dangerous. Not only is there consistently police presence at the ones in my neighbourhood but Ive had to call 911 multiple times due to domestic violence. Ive seen weapons, Ive seen guys beating the crap out of their girlfriends, Ive heard blood curdling screams. Do not rent from ANY of these apartments. Mainstream allows people like this to continue living there. It is dangerous

Worst renting company I've ever dealt with. Takes weeks or months or never (mainly never) for repairs to get done. And if something does get fixed it is done in the laziest worst way possible. Rent was never taken out on the date it was supposed to. Whenever I know someone who rents there I tell them these things and sure enough all the things I listed happen. STAY AWAY!

We first moved into an apartment in the area North of MacEwan and had to move because the walls were so thin that we could hear our neighbours constant arguing, cursing and screaming. So we paid the transfer fee to move to another unit down the road and are moving again because the building security is atrocious. There are random people regularly sleeping in the apartment at night and my husband ran into a man passed out in the closet by the laundry. They do have a security team that you can call and they will come but the people come back as soon as security leaves. They refuse to change the locks

Absolutely deplorable business. They only care about screwing you over and taking your deposit. I was supposed to rent an apartment starting February 1st. My leasing agent couldn't give me the time of day. I put a $250 deposit down to hold the apartment, but when I went to sign the lease, it was a different, smaller apartment. And, she didn't bring all the paperwork and told me it was a ten minute drive to her office- about 40 minutes, actually. And my phone died enroute, I couldn't gps to her place, so when I went home to charge my phone I sent her a text as soon as I was able telling

And I can tell you that it the worse company to work for
They mistreat you as a employee also as a tenant
The ladies at the office in edmonton they lack of education and sensibility or even humanity
If you are a foreign worker they will be racist and very rude and nothing you can do as a foreign worker because you are afraid to loose you job

Building manager never answers me. Been asking to be put into the buzzer system so I know when my packages for my home business come. He's never once answered. Complained about neighbours with screaming children running and playing in the hallways for hours (I want to point out, I have 6 nieces and nephews so I am great with kids and have a lot of patience - so I mean horrible, amazingly loud screaming and stomping in the hallway

This was my first experience as a renter and it was the worst. I called asking about month-to-month rent, which was advertised on their website. The property manager said they don't do that, but promptly called me back saying that they in fact do. So I went in, and he showed me a place. It wasn't great, but nowhere else was offering month-to-month. I went back two weeks later, and the guy didn't remember me, and again, he said they don't do month-to-month (should've taken that as a red flag it was a bad situation). He said a 12-month lease would be $200

So last August/September my ex and I had decided to move cities for my work. We didn't have a landlord ( they were always changing and we would never get a heads up or contact info for new ones) So we called their head office, we emailed the email that we had etc. for weeks before the 1st of september. FINALLY on September 2nd we got ahold of somone and they told us that our notice was late and that we'd have to pay October rent as well - I had to start

Live at the Tiffany apartments, in the basement. The landlord never is around and never answers her calls or text. The main reason that I hate this place is because you never get hot water!! You have to plan your life around it. Not worth paying almost $1100 for two bedrooms. They keep the building maintenance to crap as well.
