Visions Optometry has a rich history in the Sacramento area. This high end family practice is nestled in the heart of the Arden Park area on Fair Oaks Boulevard. This well-established practice was first opened in the 1980's within the Pavilions Shopping center. It was relocated in the late 1990's in a move to expand the space for the growing practice.
During an eye exam, we will ask you questions about any symptoms or issues you are experiencing, medications you are currently taking, any blurry vision, your work environment, and your overall health. Family history and previous eye or vision conditions will also be discussed during this part of the examination.
If your interest is in contact lenses - whether you are a current wearer or would like to start it is important to know how to care for the lenses and your eyes. Let us know that you are wearing contact lenses or would like to be fitted with contact lenses so we can set the appropriate time to perform an evaluation.
Today's eyes work hard. In work and leisure, busy people are using their near vision more than ever, especially with digital devices. When focusing up close, the disparity between comfortable vision and required vision can cause painful symptoms. Neurolenses can be customized for every patient - any or no prescription and any type of frame.

They have a fairly large selection of frames and the opticians are generally helpful. they don't measure pupillary distance so that's kinda odd for a shop that tries to be high end.

I ended up going to another optical shop to get my glasses

I was absolutely dreading our eye appointments as I spent an aweful afternoon at Stanton years ago- This experience could not have been more incredible! First, we, my husband and I, had an appointment and when we walked in, it was apparent they were taking every precaution for our safety. They took our temperature and gave us sanitizer. The waiting room is very spacious and elegant. The eye testing that Dr. Larisa Tong and Jackie gave us was very impressive from a technology perspective and they really took their time with us. Highly recommended. This is the first time I've gotten new prescription glasses that felt comfortable and correct as soon as I put them on. I also appreciated the fact that the staff listened to my preference when it came down to the type of frame I liked, unlike some places that try to push frames they think you should get. I very much appreciated their patience. Covid protocols are strictly enforced.

I had a wonderful experience at this location starting with Alex setting up my appointment. She is very kind and helpful. Not to mention Dr. Johnson "Wooow she is awesome" she took her time with me creating a great Dr and patient relationship. Went here yesterday after six years of not having eyes checked was very excited until I walked in I could tell immediately this wasn't going to be a pleasant experience with customer service- so after exam with Emily Huynh, OD I had to ask do I need glasses how are my eyes cause I have issues driving at night- still not sure so I just asked what's my vision she said 20/20 but I could use glasses so I'm ok I saw nice frames but after waiting back in lobby browsing frames no one approached me trying on Chanel frames starting at $400 and up to assist me so I went to counter said hi

I don't think I've ever had a more thorough and holistic eye exam in my life. I came in for a routine vision test and was run through a gauntlet of tests to capture a wide scope of vision health information. The doctor sat with me to review everything from general vision concerns to eye glandular health. While this was just a routine checkup, I was really impressed with The experience. I don't have any major vision issues or need glasses so I can't speak to the retail portion of the office, but the exam work here is excellent.

I believe I started going here 3 years ago. My first annual visit was stellar. Great doctor, lots of help finding glasses that look good on me, and a great selection! My second visit was ok. Great doctor. Terrible customer service. Good selection. My most recent visit was probably my last. DR.JOHNSON is absolutely fantastic! But, my service was not great, and the selection was very disappointing with very little in inventory. This would be acceptable if they didn't advertise such a large inventory.

I have been calling into several places to see what my insurance will cover and what kind of frames are available. This place had the best customer service over the phone and made me feel very comfortable! She was informative, friendly, and answered all of my questions without making me feel like I was imposing. I will be coming by just because of how well I was treated over the phone.

I have a very difficult prescription, and it took the lab several weeks to get it right; but get it right they did. And Heidi and Marina made sure that the lab did get it right. I am a first time customer, and I was immediately impressed by the warmth and friendliness, and helpfulness of Marina, and the other people who work there. I picked up my eyeglasses today, and immediately set to work picking out my next pair of sunglasses, even though it will be several months before I will be able to get them. I came in just for my annual check, and honestly had not much idea of what to expect. After a nice and friendly greeting, the worker explained the process to me and gave me multiple options, as well as the pro and con of each options. The staff here are well-trained and really have the knowledge of what is expected. My eye-doctor was super friendly. I am a person who normally tries to get out of a clinic as soon as I can, but this place and the doctor actually create a pleasant environment that made me feel comfortable enough not to rush out. Beautiful shop and great customer service!! I feel so relaxed every time I come in, and that is nice because I am very picky when choosing my glasses. Also, the gals are so patient and very helpful and so so kind. I love this place. They always have the latest styles for fashionable glasses!

I am a first time client at visions optometry. I wanted to get my eye exam and contact fitting done as soon as possible and they were able to accommodate me the next day. I was very impressed by this. The lady over the phone was kind and very helpful with answering my questions.

I walked into the location and the storefront is very beautiful. They had a frame show going on with beautiful pieces.

I walked in today to peruse their sunglasses for Spring and the manager said "hi" in a very direct, forced, and rude manner. A man walks in 15 seconds later and she says "hi, how are you today, how can i help you". I spoke with her and asked her why he was greeted in such a friendly manner, but I wasnt even asked if I could be helped. She said it was because I didnt smile at her!!! I told her...I CANT SEE YOU BECAUSE DONT HAVE MY GLASSES ON! She was very apologetic, but there is no excuse for her rudeness. Customer service should be consistent, asking if you can help me is

I've been a client of Visions for about 5 years. Every year they send me a reminder card for my appointment, the doctors are always friendly, and they have a wide selection of frames and lenses to fit every budget. Beautiful office space as well.

Zero stars if that was an option! These people have no clue how insurance works and have mistakenly billed me multiple times. They are uniformed and have horrible service. Nice showroom, but thats about it. They billed me for services not rendered, they could not understand how my insurance worked and were not willing to figure it out. HORRIBLE

The dr I saw gave me a very thorough exam and answered all questions. However, the staff and service could be better, especially for the expense. Was told 1 to 2 weeks for glasses to arrive. Called a week and a half later for an eta, no call back or response to my later email. Reached them at the 2 week mark and am now being told at least one more week. Will not use this company for my next exam or frames.

This place was terrible. I came with a friend thinking it'd be a quick trip...NO. We were here for 2 hours! It took them a whole hour just to dilate her eyes and then another hour just to order the frames.


The doctor didn't even explain what he was doing when he dilated her eyes. He just put drops in and said ok I'll check your eyes in 10 minutes. Then he proceeded to say she had something else wrong with her eyes and was very unhelpful when she asked how she can fix it.


Their customer service is even worse. There are people "working" on other customer's paperwork

The only optometrist worth seeing is Dr Johnson. She is patient, willing to try different lenses until you find the right fit. The downside are the other ones that I had been to who told me that I just had to get used to the wrong prescription.

The new office is tastefully decorated and they have a good number of designer frames. Wish they were open on Sundays but that's ok.
