She majored in biology at the University of California, Santa Cruz, and went on to graduate from the Southern California College of Optometry in 2002.

I had my first eye exam here and it went really well. The appointment wasn’t longer than an hour while still being comprehensive. They guided me through the whole process and in the end I got the prescription I needed with the frame I really wanted. Staff is professional and friendly. Booking an appointment was super easy and I got scheduled the following week. They also take my insurance which is a plus.

I was unhappy with my eye doctor, so was looking for a change. I tried Eyes On J because they are a small, woman-owned business and conveniently located for me.
Everyone was friendly and knowledgeable, Dr. Swanson was very thorough and answered all my questions patiently. My glasses arrived in 3 weeks with good communication. I highly recommend.

I went in on December 8th to order glasses, expecting to receive them in 2-3 weeks, as I was told. After 5 weeks had passed, I called to see if they had arrived and they hadn't. I called back on February 17th. The woman I spoke with said they were in the back but nobody bothered calling me. The entire time I was without glasses.

Dr. Swanson and her staff are very personable and professional.
Dr. Swanson herself is probably the most attentive optometrist I've seen. Her staff are also very knowledgeable and will take the time to answer your questions.
They follow social distancing guidelines as well. Appointments are easily made online. The office is really clean and aesthetically pleasing.
In the past years, I've gone to multiple Optometrists but I think I'll stick with this one.

I ordered a pair of glasses two months ago and finally gave up on them providing them.
The first 1 1/2 months the frames were on back order. I had to repeatedly call them to find this out. Later last week, they assured me they got the frames and sent them to get the lenses installed and would be ready
This week. Today, I am told.the frames have been lost and they are reordering the frames. This optometrist us totally unreliable. Now lets see how long it will take them to refund my and my insurance company's money they already collected.

My family has purchased multiple pairs of glasses between us and while the doctor is great the rest of it is extremely disorganized. The first time we purchased glasses I thought it took a long time at 3 weeks, but the wait time has become longer and longer each time. Recently we went in to get the arm on my daughter's glasses fixed because it was bent, no new lenses, just an arm. It took weeks to replace and even longer for them to bother to let us know that the glasses were ready. Two weeks in we called because we had not heard anything and the glasses were still not ready. Amazing service! Front desk crew was very friendly and took good care of me until Dr. Swanson assisted with the appointment! Dr. Swanson was exceptional! The interaction was great as she broke down in a clear detailed demonstration that provided me a visual understanding on what is going on with my eye sight. If I could make her my primary eye doctor I would!

When i initially wrote my review i must have "drank the kool-aid" because my subsequent 10+ interactions with eyes on j were deplorable at best.
first of all, the staff is beyond rude. justine is so vile and rude i do not know how she keeps her job. the first time i met her she was insolent but it was my birthday and i was trying to be optimistic and chalked it off to a bad day (we all have them, right?). well it wasn't an engima, it was just justine. she is extremely rude and entitled. to put things in perspective, upon one of my visits, she was so rude that when i walked

Had another awesome experience @ eyes on J.
I had sunglasses I couldn't wear because of a progressive Lenses issue. These were a big investment ($600)
But due to busy life etc, I just failed to deal with the matter. Finally, because it was bugging me that I wasn't /couldn't wear the glasses , I took them in to the shop so I could get them fixed. TOTALLY My fault that TWO years had gone by! I fully expected to have to pay for the redo.
Not only were the lenses fixed to my satisfaction in 2 days, but I was not charged!!

I've been wearing contact lenses for at least 35 years. This is the first time I felt the doctor wanted to see me in contacts that felt good and worked well. To that end, Dr. Sarah allowed me to try several different brands of contacts to find the one that felt right. In addition, I worked with Christina who helped me find a pair of eyeglass frames that I loved. For someone with a -8.0 prescription, that isn't easy. Thank you all for a great experience.

This place was great ! Took me in a under a hour notice, staff was friendly and everyone was one the same page. Dr.Swanson was fun, professional and straight to the point. Only reason they didn't make 5 stars is because they didn't advise about me the cost for services they were going to preform on top of the general exam so my bill was more then I expected. I would of happily paid the final bill knowing that is going to be the bill. Overall I would recommend them 100℅ !

I don't usually go to the optometrist but this was an excellent example of how it should be. Everyone has great service, from the front desk lady to the optometrist.
What I appreciate is that they take the time to explain everything, including what is covered and what you have to pay out of pocket for, why you would want it or not, and also, most importantly to me, what my results/images mean for my eye health. I wound up having slight eyesight impairment, but she also didn't try to get me to buy a pair of eyeglasses because she knew I didn't need it. They also schedule your next

I have been going to see Dr. Swanson for over 7 years a everything has gone well. However a true relationship is tested when something goes wrong. I ordered six months of contacts, a new brand I hadn't tried, and they ended up not fitting comfortably. The lenses would get cloudy and after a week of suffering I went to see Dr. Swanson. I was able to return unopened boxes and order new contacts from another brand -she also gave me extra sets of contacts, while I wait for the new ones to arrive, including a box of the brand I didn't like to test whether the batch of contacts I had gotten
