Our practice has been evolving to meet the needs of Sacramento families for over 50 years. We have also broadened our horizons to service our loyal patients from out of town, out of state and even out of the country. The comprehensive eye examination is our only way to diagnose and treat eye conditions and diseases before they become symptomatic, and before vision is permanently threatened.
At your annual examination, the doctor might prescribe contact lenses, or you may come into our office as an established contact lens wearer. Either way, we are committed to educating you about the newest technology in contact lens design, and how it can benefit your particular visual system.

Our doctors share a common passion within the field of optometry. This passion involves helping an often underserved population of patients with progressive corneal degenerations including keratoconus, keratoglobus and pellucid marginal degeneration. This also includes corneal irregularities due to an unfortunate trauma, or surgically induced by corneal transplantation or refractive surgery.

Last year I spent over $1,200 on prescription glasses and sunglasses. In addition, my insurance paid for a full year of contacts as they are medically necessary. This year during my exam, I complained about the effectiveness of my glasses. Dr. Doxtader told me that my complaints made sense because my astigmatism was over-corrected last year. Instead of offering me an apology and replacement glasses and sunglasses for the useless glasses I bought last year, she tried to tell me I was over-corrected because my astigmatism improved over the last year. This was my first visit, but I was pleased with how efficiently the front staff handled appointments and communication. Dr. Brady Rembleski was very thorough, listened well, and explained options clearly and understandably. The only hard part was figuring out the parking and finding the office, but that was not surmountable.

The staff at RCD persisted in working to try different approaches and products - even switching manufacturers - to fit my very difficult eyes with scleral lenses. Their hard work and positive attitude and incredible knowledge of their field resulted in a fitting that has changed my life. I can see with clarity that I have never experienced in my life. I have worn glasses almost all my life and have seen a few optometrists in that time, but none compare to Dr. Rembleski. I don't trust my eye care to anyone else. He is always kind and makes you feel so comfortable. He takes the time to listen and gives a thorough exam. He and his staff are first-rate. I highly recommend!

Wonderful experiences here. This has been my Optometry office for over 6 years and has been the greatest experience I've ever had. The doctors and staff are extremely knowledgeable and courteous. They explain everything and offer all the options available. I love the semi-rigid lenses I have. My partner loves his glasses. I highly recommend this office to all of my friends and family.

I have been a patient for years and if it's even possible, their service is getting better by the minute. The staff are incredibly gracious and helpful. The office is inviting and comfortable. And they have PARKING!! Who doesn't love that living in downtown/midtown Sacramento. Totally recommend River City Doctors of Optometry to everyone! You won't regret it.
