Balance Yoga Lounge
Empowering individuals to work toward improved health and well-being through the application of the teachings and practices of yoga and meditation. Together we explore the relationship between health, stress, and coping mechanisms. Learning how to observe and notice your own habitual patterns of coping leads to conscious shifts in how you navigate stressful situations.

Conscious movement and breathing are powerful tools for inner exploration and growth of body, mind and spirit. An online community for individuals interested in mindful movement and breathing practices. If traditional medicine has not helped your physical or emotional pain, then yoga therapy can help you heal.
Services
Yoga, breath work and meditation provide coping mechanisms to support you in embracing the emotional and physical challenges of living with illness, injury, or chronic stress. Yoga can be strenuous or restorative, but only when the instructor has experience assessing your individual abilities and health goals.
Community classes include stretching, rhythmic breathing, and somatic movement to build greater strength, flexibility, and balance. All practice is from the comfort of your home via Zoom. It was an incredible experience! I signed up for the 8 lesson private package and it was more than I expected- I knew we would cover many different poses, but I learned so much about yoga, breathing techniques, meditation.
Technology has pervaded every aspect of daily living. Without scheduled time to consciously unplug, the nervous system gets stuck in overdrive leaving us feeling overwhelmed and anxious. Burnout soon follows unless we discover how to connect with our inner guides and practice positive coping skills.
Learn how to shift habitual patterns of response to stress and anxiety in small group study or one-to-one coaching. When anxiety becomes chronic, the protective mechanisms of the nervous system get stuck! Stress and trauma fall on a continuum; in the short term the body can adapt, but when it becomes chronic the body often shifts to maladaptive responses.

Balance Yoga stole five hundred dollars from my wife. She signed up for a class. My job transferred me to a new state. My wife gave Balance Yoga over a months notice that she would not attend the class. Balance Yoga chose to keep the five hundred dollar deposit anyway. We received no service and took nothing from Balance Yoga. Not cool at all. Thanks for nothing!

I've been a member of this studio for about 4 months. I take 3-5 classes every week, ranging from restorative to power hot to meditation. I've visited almost every other Yoga studio in the Des Moines metro area and settled on Balance because it's where I feel most at home.

Balance offers a wide range of classes, so anyone from beginner to experienced Yogi can get their practice on without feeling constrained. Balance also offer a wide range of instructors with different teaching styles.

If you are new to the studio- I'd suggest getting the new student unlimited yoga for

I love BYL! I am a busy sales professional and mom of two, but every day that I am home I take a yoga class. The teachers are all very helpful and nice, and I appreciate the wide range of classes, beginner to advanced. Yoga really centers my hectic lifestyle while being both great exercise as well as a natural appetite supressant. I started because I have a spinal deformity called scoliosis, which yoga has strengthened my back and helped ease pain.

Since starting a daily practice, I have lost 15 pounds.

You will never walk out of a yoga class saying, "Gee, I wish I didn't go."

I popped in last Tuesday night after a solo 6 hour drive. I had zero expectations....just needed some yoga :)

I usually like a pretty solid Vinyassa Flow class....but I was too late for the Power Yoga at 5:30.....so took the Gentle Yoga with Linette from 7-8pm.....I was nicely surprised......good in-between level class....certainly not "chair" or senior yoga.....but def didn't make me sweat.

The room is pretty bare bones....but has a warm vibe to it. The floors were carpeted which I thought was odd......unless they're doing a lot of Bikram there.....and it didn't smell
