Conveniently located at 13376 Oak Brook Drive, Urbandale, only a couple of minutes right off I-35 Hickman exit, the private space is a calming and serene sanctuary for yoga, for healing and for healthy life style. Services
Lily offers private or private groups yoga at Green Yoga House studio or at your chosen site for clients who have busy schedules, injuries or special needs. Private lessons are designed for clients of all levels of yoga practice. COMPLETE BEGINNERS are welcome! For available private class time, please check the Schedule page.
Classes maybe changed without prior notice and will be cancelled if less than 6 registrations. DO be quiet. It's great to share a class with people you know, but it can be distracting to yourself and others to have an extended or loud conversation. DO bring a towel /your own mat if you sweat, and arrive clean and free of scents that might distract or offend others.
Q: I want to start yoga but feel intimidated. What if most students in the class are advanced? A: Starting with private lessons or with the right level of group classes will be the recommended approach. Many of our students are relatively new to yoga, and some are absolute beginners. Each class has a broad representation of ages and body types.

As they say, life can throw you a curve ball. At the age of 49, I was an active, working mother and wife when my body gave out on me. I was forced to quit my job and go on disability. After a diagnosis of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome from Mayo Clinic, the next 16 years I required a wheel chair and cane. With the help of an experimental drug, I am not cured, but I no longer need my cane and seldom my wheelchair. During the 16 years, I had lost a lot of muscle strength and flexibility. Lily is the best yoga teacher I have ever met!!! I took a private class with my mom and I was amazed at her ability to teach different levels of yoga at the same time. She is a very compassionate teacher and she challenges you in a way that is fun and rewarding. I highly recommend taking class or private classes with her, as she is a gemir a teacher and a person. Lily Hou was my first yoga instructor. She was wonderfully adaptive at working with a senior age female. She knew that a restorative yoga practice was just as important as one that would provide a chance to build some strength and flexibility. Lily respects the individual abilities and challenges of her students and provides safe and professionally guided practice in a beautifully appointed studio. You won’t find a better teacher for any level or style of yoga. Nor will you find a more caring teacher.

Lily is amazing. Having lower back issues, I considered doing yoga for years but didn't want to go through the "beginner" process in front of a room full of people. I found Lily, and the rest is history! I appreciate the tailored sessions, consideration for my back issues and the excellent atmosphere. I've been doing yoga with Lily for almost 2 years, and it's been an excellent experience--both for my lower back and me personally! Highly recommend.

If you’re looking to develop your yoga practice, I highly recommend Lily with Green Yoga House. I’ve tried other yoga studios, but found that Lily has the knowledge and experience to explain the poses and focuses on teaching the proper form. I’ve worked with Lily for several years, one-on-one and in a small class, and each time she tailors the class to your ability and goals. She is the best in town!

I’ve been taking weekly yoga classes from Lily for over a decade. She was my first yoga instructor and you won’t find another instructor who is as caring about your well being. She tailors her instruction to you individually even in my small group class. After my arm surgery, she made sure I did the poses differently as not to harm me physically. Since I’ve started yoga with Lily, I’ve gained flexibility, strength and balance. I’ve used the breathing techniques I’ve learned into my work life when I need a few minutes to relax. I still remember my first yoga class. I did not know the teacher or a single person in the class. I had never done a yoga pose but I do remember how I felt when I finished. I felt like someone had “oiled” all my joints- I was hooked!
I found Lily Hou and Green Yoga House shortly after retiring and beginning yoga. In Lily’s smaller class sized setting, I was able to learn the poses and how to breathe while performing them. Lily is a master teacher. She explains and then demonstrates the proper alignment of a pose and also demonstrates how doing a pose incorrectly could have negative effects

I have been doing yoga with Lily for over a decade. I started in her amazing group classes and then went on to private lessons which has really allowed me to work on problem areas as they arise. Lily also has a wealth of knowledge about the physiology of the body and can help me work to strengthen what needs to be strengthened. Her home-based studio is so relaxing with a beautiful view of the woods. I highly recommend yoga with Lily.
