Overall, Oakbrook was a great place to live! I loved the peaceful environment, management was amazing, and the amenities were great. However, my roommate and I struggled with a roach infestation. I believe this may be because we lived on the first floor, but after multiple attempts to aid this issue we were unsuccessful with keeping them away. The pest control that the management sent out was not even successful. If this would not have been an issue, I absolutely would have given Oakbrook 5-stars! I would recommend staying here, but not on the first floor.

I've lived at Oakbrook for two and a half years now and only have great things to say. The apartment came in good shape but I recently had some issues with my dishwasher. I called the office to see if anything could be done and the maintenance staff had the issue corrected before the next day. Thank you, Oakbrook Staff.

Oakbrook is truly a hidden gem in Baton Rouge, this community is quite, friendly, and super clean. The staff is my favorite part of the community, when I walk in office I’m greeted by my first name and my pup is always showered treats and belly rubs.
Gwen, Jason, and Alex go above and beyond. I’m not sure how they do it, but they really make the place like “I’m a part the familyâ€.
I’d highly recommend this community to anyone is the Baton Rouge area, Oakbrook is great for students, families, and especially pets.

If you have a couple extra thousand dollars laying around, go ahead and move here.
If you value your vehicle and don't have a few extra thousand dollars laying around, don't move here.
Vehicles regularly get crashed into overnight while they sit in the parking lot. Multiple vehicles have been broken into. Oakbrook has done nothing to rectify their lack of security (I'm writing this in august 2019 and I first raised my issues with them in January of 2019).
If you have a problem with your apt (such as the ac not working properly) expect it to take months to be fixed.

I've been living at oakbrook for over a year now and love it. The rooms are big and the prices are fair. It's on the tiger trail line and also a walking distance from tigerland if you like to go out although there are no lights on the sidewalk. I like that oakbrook stays well lit a night at that the gates work, it creates a safe feeling. My dislikes about the place lands mainly on the parking. There aren't that many spots and I sometimes work really late. The last thing I want to do is drive around the place looking for a spot after a long day. Another thing to take into consideration

Love it here! Very affordable and large bedrooms/closets/living room compared to other Baton Rouge apartments. The staff is very nice and timely, my closet rack broke and they came and fixed it within the hour after I called. They are constantly doing giveaways, contests, and events with food/prizes. Nice hardwood floors in living area and clean carpet in bedrooms, granite countertops in the kitchen and bathrooms. Free printing (bring your own paper), Mac desktops, study rooms, and coffee in the clubhouse! Go view the model apartment they have, you'll fall in love.

I lived at Oakbrook for 2 years in a 1bedroom apartment. The apartment itself wasn't top of the line, but it was nice enough and had good features. It was disgusting when we moved in, but this was overlooked because we sublet from a girl. We experienced so many issues during our time at Oakbrook that I could go on and on. All I need to say is that even though part of the staff has somewhat improved in the last few months, the staff is and has always been this property's worst feature and biggest downfall. Corporate (RISE!!) really just barks orders at them and never gives them any information

I have lived here for almost a year and signed on for another year. There are brand new renovations just finishing up and the apartments had just been bought by a new person when I moved in. It is a bit more expensive than some of the other apartments close to LSU but it is very nice and allows pets. They also plan events relative to lsu student schedules like scantrons and breakfast during finals and a spring crawfish boil. The new gym is also nice and there are two pools. I recommend these apartments.

DO NOT LET ANYONE YOU CARE ABOUT LIVE HERE!! My daughter did and almost lost her life as well as her boyfriend. Blatant negligence and disregard for those who live here. The staircase collapsed as she and her boyfriend were descending. WE are so thankful that they were not physically injured. They were just seconds from falling to their death and not to mention had there been someone underneath, they would have been crushed..Underneath all this was rotten wood that had been covered up. they KNEW!!! All promises from the "management" to take care of her expenses while she wasn&apos

By far the worst place I've ever lived and a complete joke of an establishment. Living here was truly a nightmare. When I moved in, my apartment was disgusting and I had to clean it from top to bottom. My refrigerator leaked water and there were bugs in it. I found cockroaches in my kitchen every night. My washing machine was broken for a month and maintenance didn't come to fix it until after hounding the office and putting in maintenance requests nearly every day. Cable is supposed to be included with the rent, but there was no cable outlet in my apartment. After contacting the office

WORST APARTMENT FROM DAY 1!!! My daughters just moved in August 2, 2015 (Sunday). The A/C was not working. They have to drive back home same day because the apartment was not livable with 86F temperature inside. How can they make people move-in without even checking that the basic A/C is not working.
They promised to fix it on Monday (Aug 3, 2015) and the manager confirmed that the A/C was fixed (unfortunately she was lying because it wasn't). My daughter drive back to Baton Rouge on August 4, 2015 (Wed). She taught the A/C was fix but the temp inside the apartment was 81F around noon. Around

DO NOT LIVE HERE! IT IS A TERRIBLE PLACE TO STAY AND HAS HORRIBLE MANAGEMENT!!!!
The review before mine is completely false, and I have never even seen that guy before. This place does not care about you or your well being, have put multiple tenants through rough situations such as making them stay with a broken air condition (my neighbor and myself experienced this), mold, rot, leaks, more mold, and they show no interest in fixing anything. They will literally paint over a problem to try to hide it in an attempt to not spend money. PLEASE DO NOT MOVE HERE AND TORTURE YOURSELF. I am miserable

Apartment that was shown initially was great, but once you move into your actual apartment there will be many maintenance issues. Maintenance is very very slow here. Staff is very professional, but it is upsetting that minor maintenance issues can't be fixed. Also, When I moved in, apartment was dirty. The outside of the apartment was green. It was not move in ready. Although under new management, maintenance issues still take a while.
If you decide to lease here, be sure to look at your apartment before signing the lease.

WORST APARTMENT COMPLEX EVER!!!!!!! We had bed bugs in our apartment for six months!!!!! Nasty red bugs that feast on humans!!! We had a furnished apartment, and the bedbugs had to be there when we moved there. My roommate couldn't sleep in her room for two months, and they did nothing about it, until about two months before we moved out. They are very rude and lazy, and they still expected rent for an uninhabitable, filthy, space!!! They also charged us charges for carpet cleaning and the carpet had no substantial damage, and a lot of other unnecessary charges. The gate is NEVER closed, it

Oakbrook provides quality housing that is well maintained by a friendly, timely, and actionable staff that makes living here enjoyable! I like it so much, I renewed my lease for another year!
I consider myself somewhat of an expert evaluator of rental properties as I've lived at 14 addresses in 4 states over the last 16 years. I've seen the entire spectrum of housing conditions from nearly perfect to borderline illegal.
