Dr. Wayne Golden has been in Sarasota in a private practice for over 30 years. His practice offers eye health, glasses examinations, contacts lens examinations, and a full service optical. Dr. Golden is very proud that some of his fabulous staff members, Linda, Christina and Lin have been with him for over 25 years combined.

Dr. Golden and Golden Vision have been members of the Florida Optometric Association since Dr. Golden became licensed in 1994. The FOA does some great work in our state of Florida including supporting Miami Lighthouse for the Blind and the Heiken Childrens Vision Program which offers comprehensive eye examinations and eyewear for low-income Florida school children.
We follow all privacy policies regarding our patients personal information. We take this seriously and follow all HIPAA guidelines. A full copy of our HIPAA policy is posted at our office and a copy will be offered to you at the time of your office visit. If you have special needs be sure and let us know.

Two days before leaving on a 5-day cruise, I was packing and realized that I only had one pair of contacts remaining. So, I frantically called several optometrists when I stumbled on to Golden Vision. Their customer service was terrific, and I was able to schedule an appointment for later that day. While completing my examination, I explained my situation and was provided with not only a new pair of contacts to walk out of the door but an extra pair just in case something happened while on my trip. Talk about going the extra mile!

I bought glasses there in February 2020 and the lens coating started to DECOMPOSE after about 18 months. The coating started to bubble, creating little splotches that look like water droplets on my glasses, which REALLY IS AFFECTING MY VISION, ESPECIALLY DRIVING AT NIGHT.
When I originally ordered them, they got them within a few days.
Now that there is a problem, it’s going to take TWO WEEKS to get replacement lenses. And NO POSSIBILITY OF A RUSH ORDER, which I asked about...?

I needed an eye exam to obtain a drivers license. Although I had an exam this past June, I needed a local eye doctor to approve me to drive. Dr, Golden was recommended. His staff were all very helpful and gracious. It was easy to get through to the office and to obtain an appointment. Having just had an eye exam, I wasn't expecting any changes; I just needed a release. Much to my shock, Dr. Golden showed me that I saw clearer without my glasses! Dr. Golden, Kristie, and Jackie are amazing !!!! Such an awesome experience, it’s like walking into St. Armand’s Circle, or Anna Maria Island. These people are the best. The office manager is wonderful. Just a well put together team. They do gift cards ..... & they have an excellent choice of Costa’s. Both men’s and women’s.... unbelievable prices !!! I saw this provider in a port Charlotte location .
I felt my exam was rushed and incomplete. He told me that the “machines were great “ and “did most of the work these days”.
He assured me that my eyes were great and that I had no retinopathy and that my distance RX had actually improved and I required less correction , and my RX decreased .5 diopter in each eye.
I told him that I was glad to hear that , as I was a diabetic . He immediately changed his demeanor, becoming defensive , stating “you didn’t check that on your medical history form”.
I informed him that I had checked

This office and all staff members are absolutely wonderful! Friendly, professional and provide an excellent experience! Dr. Golden is thorough and careful, and the atmosphere of the office is great. The staff members pay attention to the style of frames you are drawn to and find the best options to try on. Highly recommend this office for adults and children alike!

We have been using Golden Vision for over 5 years. They make everything very easy: quick appointments, always have the insurance information sorted out (what's covered, co-pays, options, etc.) Good advice on protecting our eyes. Linda is especially helpful in getting your glasses or contacts and various options. Never any surprise charges. I had an emergency last year and they fit me in right away. I'm 55 and they have been the easiest and most efficient that I have been to for the last 35 years. I definitely recommend them.
