Services
Dr. Rutkowsky is a Board Certified Optometric physician who has been in general practice since 1980 specializing in low vision care, complex eyeglass prescriptions and specialty contact lens fitting. He graduated from the University of Florida with a B.S. in Microbiology and a minor in Chemistry and earned his Doctor of Optometry from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee.
Periodic eye and vision examinations are an important part of preventive health care. Many eye and vision problems have no obvious signs or symptoms. As a result, individuals are often unaware that problems exist. Early diagnosis and treatment of eye and vision problems are important for maintaining good vision and eye health, and when possible, preventing vision loss.
Our office has a wide variety of eye glass options. Whether your style is rimless, or you prefer a little more bling, we have a pair of glasses for you. Custom lenses and frame selection are our specialty. When selecting a great pair of eye glasses, the key elements to consider are prescription, lens designs and treatments, lens materials, and frame size.
After completeing a full examination of your eyes, the doctor will need to perform a contact lens fitting to determine if you are a good candidate for contacts. The doctor will evaluate your vision needs an determine which type of contact lens material and design will be most compatible. The doctor will need to take some additional measurements of the surface of your eye to ensure proper fit of your contact lenses.
Children's vision care is essential to every child's development. Experts say that over 80 percent of what a child learns in school is presented visually, so making sure your son or daughter has good vision can make a big difference in their academic performance. Amblyopia (lazy eye) is reduced vision in one eye that is the result of poor focusing caused by uncorrected refractive errors such as myopia, hyperopia or astigmatism.

I have been a patient of Dr Rutkowsky for many years. I can assure he and his office staff are the BEST of the Best. The Dr. Is wonderful, very knowledgeable, nice, and patient. He takes time to do everything carefully and does not rush you or anyone like other offices. He takes care of you and answer all your questions. I feel very fortunate to have his service and recommend him to everyone.

My experience with the doctor : He took time with me and did a very thorough exam.
However, Very disappointed in the frame choices I was given. I got to pick from 2 drawers! Not from the wall!!! Yet still dished out $200 in cash on top of what my Insurance paid . The fitting of my glasses, and lack there of! The words that were spoken to me ! I was there on 6 occasions for them to get my glasses right. I left today after a unprofessional experience! Needless to say. My frames still do NOT fit! I’ve called my insurance company and filed a grievance.I will be making a reach out to the BBB also

BEST eye doctor I’ve been gone to see.
I’ve tried to save a little money (ended up costing me twice as much) going to these quick vision fix places and that’s exactly what I got, we’ll kind of. They were quick but did not fix me (never ever again) SO WHERE DID I END UP BACK TO DR. RUTKOWSKY’S OFFICE. He takes his time, answers all your questions and is a very kind gentleman. Staff is also amazing.
