Services
Founded over thirty years ago, Rock Spring Children's Center has a mission of providing affordable, quality child care and preschool services to families of the local community. A non profit, 501(c)(3), NAEYC accredited, child care organization, our school serves over 150 local families and employs over 45 dedicated and loving child care professionals and teachers whose average tenure at Rock Spring Children's Center is 7 years.
We provide a carefully planned, stimulating play-based program for the cognitive, physical, social and emotional development of young children in a safe, clean, and nurturing environment so that they are thoroughly equipped for kindergarten and beyond. Our teachers, directors, and families work together to create a supportive community in which our children learn and thrive.
After you have had a chance to see the School and you have paid the waitlist fee, you may be wondering what to do next. The process is really simple and it only requires a few minutes of your time each month. First and foremost, STAY IN TOUCH! We need to know that you are still interested in a spot, have not found other care, or, if you are pregnant, all of your new baby's information after he or she is born.
Great pay, generous benefits, and a wonderful working atmosphere - that's what you'll get at Rock Spring Children's Center!. Our goal is to help children blossom intellectually and emotionally, while having a lot of fun along the way. We place great importance on play, as this is the foundation of socialization.
One of our biggest community building events each year is our annual fundraiser. All of our teachers and staff come together to donate time and money to support the School. The money we raise goes to support scholarships (both for members of the community and so that our teachers can afford to send their own children to the school), to support teacher continuing education, and to support periodic upgrades to our facility.

My son has been at RSCC for more than two years now, and with each successive month, my wife and I are happier and happier with our decision. We exhaustively researched many options in and around Bethesda and the biggest factor in choosing RSCC was the almost complete lack of staff turnover. So many employees have been there for more than 10 years, which is nothing short of amazing in the child care arena. In almost any business, long tenured employees is a very good sign. We son has moved up to his fourth classroom now and I am continually amazed (and thankful) for the care, compassion, teaching

I recently withdrew my youngest daughter from Rock Spring after three months because I found the care to be not up to the standard I've experienced at other local centers. On several occasions, I saw the staff be sarcastic with the toddlers. They habitually did not greet my daughter in the morning (which made her less secure and dropoffs much more difficult), and there was a tremendous amount of staff turnover in her room during that short time. On a couple of occasions, I raised concerns with the administration. They said they'd "take care of things," but no one ever followed up with me.
