We start from the premise that Yoga should be accessible and relevant. Yoga Mechanics teaches alignment yoga based on the foundations of anatomy and biomechanics. Each class is approachable and challenging all in one. We aim to educate you about your body and empower you through action. Our classes are woven with rich and contemplative content that draws you deeper into the physical practice.
We hold a healthy space for you to consider your body and mind through a physical practice. Practice through it all. The application for EACH individual WILL be different. Our staff is highly trained to facilitate movement in your body, encouraging both strength and flexibility. Health begins one movement at a time.

A community yoga studio offering a wide variety of classes. The classes are dynamic and help me understand the deeper philophy of yoga in a more relatable way. The classes at Yoga Mechanics challenge me and encourage me to get outside of my comfort zone. The practice makes me realize that yoga is so much more than an physical practice. I love Yoga Mechanics!

I can't tell you how long I have looked for a studio where I felt welcomed, supported, safe and in a position to grow. Yoga Mechanics was the answer to this never ending search. Their teachers are on another level - really knowledgeable, and work to truly connect with each person who walks in the door and gets on the mat.
Their philosophy as well as their customer service are something for all others to strive for, and I am so thankful to have found them!

I absolutely love this place. Today was my first day ever attending a yoga class in my life! Joe was the instructor and he was absolutely amazeballs! I thoroughly enjoyed myself and felt much more comfortable doing yoga than I ever did in any fitness gym. I like the peaceful serene environment and the pleasant energy everyone brings.
I'm not extremely out of shape, but I'm not in the best shape either, this class/yoga center was very comforting for people who may not be able to make certain movements or hold certain poses. It made me think and then it made me feel. I liked that.

This particular yoga studio offers evening classes and weekends I was very surprised to find that they don't have a 9 AM class unless I was mistaken
I only came here for one class as I am trying to find a good studio to become a member at I am more into bar three and I haven't checked out the one in Livingston but my neighbor does come to this particular yoga studio in the evenings
It's very typical and you bring your own mat

I had an issue with my classes getting erased in their system so I could not book my classes online. I called several times and asked what I could do since I had pre paid over $40 for these 2 classes. The girl said to me that the manager said Id get two classes added if I bought a 5 or 10 class pack. Well this was definitely not what I wanted to do. I had been doing kundalini meditative yoga and just wanted to give Yoga Montclair (or Yoga Mechanics whatever they're going by) another shot. Guess I'm not going to.

After recently moving to the area I purchased a new student monthly pass and went to the 1130 Sunday class. I really loved it. The teacher was clearly very experienced, funny and focused on alignment in a really interesting way. She explained chaturanga in a way that helped me understand it better than I ever have in over 10 years of taking classes.
To top it off, after my schedule got crazy and I was able to attend only one class on the pass, the studio reached out to make sure I had been happy with the experience and even offered to extend my monthly pass after I explained my schedule hadn&apos

I took Leah Katzs' New years eve class at this beautiful studio and was so happy to end the year like that.
Leahs breakdown of each pose and correct body position has allowed me to improve my flexibility. I have learned to listen to her every cue and the results are amazing. Her wonderful class in this beautiful sacred space should be experienced by all!

Yaaaaaas queen. Maybe it was the rush of a week spent housewifing, or perhaps the slightly higher than normal amnt of caffeine I had consumed that AM in preparation for the struggle that is trying to study for the boards while really just wanting to play w Leo, the goldendoodle of my dreams, but I knew it was going to be a solid excursion when, upon opening the door to T's Prius (obviously), Leanne Rimes' circa 2000 hit, "Can't Fight the Moonlight" immediately came blasting out- so, in short, even prior to rolling up to YM, I was totally vibing on this day hard.

I love the vibe of this studio. The space is absolutely gorgeous and they have a great variety of classes, levels and teachers.
The studio space is large and well-lit, with tons of huge windows that let loads of beautiful sunlight in. They have a thoughtful shrine set up at the front of the studio, and the space is clean with plenty of props for use by clients. The lobby is gorgeous, too; it has a nice variety of merchandise for purchase, and the whole space is well designed.
Since this is not a hot studio, they don't offer bathrooms with showers. They do, however, offer free water refills

Yoga Montclair is simply fantastic. I just recently started doing yoga and their Basic class is perfect for beginners who want to correctly learn and understand the yoga positions. The Level I and Open classes are also viable options for relative newcomers.
Yoga Montclair is the most accessible yoga studio with a wide-range of classes each day that can fit your needs and schedule. Each teacher that I have had has been wonderful and really knows how to lead a yoga class to perfection.
The studio itself has a great feel. They combine their experience and professionalism with a casual, open

Did yoga here for a few years, on and off. Consistently great classes. You get a lot of feedback and interaction here unlike those giant yoga classes at the big gyms where you do not get any attention and are not getting the most out of your poses/practice.
Joe Gandarillas was my personal favorite even though I took some of the other classes and the instructors were also good. Joe is incredibly sweet, attentive, and extremely knowledgeable!! I've tried other places and no one ever came close. He'd start the class with some sort of pep talk (often involving stories from his own life)

Love the many teachers at Yoga Montclair.
Specifically, the prenatal class that Omni teaches is amazing. She is a really gifted teacher, and has a wonderful way of relating to her students. The yoga is appropriate for first-timers, but also challenging for any expecting mother - yogi or not.
I've enjoyed the other teachers as well, although I fully realize Anusara might not be for everyone. However, every teacher I have met at Yoga Montclair is well trained, thoughtful in their instruction, yet relatable in their demeanor.
Definitely glad to have found my yoga "home"

A very welcoming environment and amazing space. I travel quite a bit for work and have been both surprised and disappointed by studios throughout the country. This studio definitely gets a thumbs-up...even from an LA native. The classes are mainly Anusara-based, so handstand is a possibility even if its your first class. This studio is frequented by amazing teachers such as Noah Maze & Naime Jezzeny

I heart Joe-ga at Yoga Mandali Montclair :)
Seriously, Joe Gandarillas' class is always the best. Joe has a great way of balancing his personal style with the Anusara standards and delivers a great class every time. He typically opens class with a lovely story or theme to think about and reflect about during the practice. The practice itself is usually challenging but not insane, and he will vary the level or types of poses based on who is attending (he knows his students well but also asks if they have any requests). I always feel better, inside and out, after a good dose of Joe-ga.
