Whether you want to move & sweat or relax & breathe, whether you are brand new to yoga or only speak Spanish, we've got classes for you. The Yoga Ground is a studio on a mission. It was created with an awareness of the shadow side of the "health & wellness" industry.
The side where rising prices have made life-enhancing wellness practices only available to those with a decent amount of money. The side where "health" has become a chase for the "yoga body, " rather than an appreciation for the body that you already have. At The Yoga Ground we ask, "What is enough?"

When I (Kristen) originally started practicing yoga it was helping me heal from an eating disorder. I found a studio that became a home for me. I was 21 and fresh out of eating disorder rehab. I was a full-time college student and not yet a yoga teacher. I paid $50 for an Intro Month Special and after that was over, I knew I could no longer afford to take classes.
At The Yoga Ground we are committed to making our students feel like they belong, in supporting them in their growth with us, and in making their yoga experience impactful. We believe the yoga world needs a more diverse student base and are working to do our part in making that happen. We hope in The Yoga Ground you will find a second home.
Need yoga or want to try it, but in a tough spot financially? Ask us about our community yoga bank, offering free classes and workshops to anyone in need. We know that yoga can seem intimidating. Our teachers have heard it all, "I'm not flexible enough for yoga" "I don't have the 'yoga body'" "I'm afraid I'll be the only male" "I'm afraid I'll be the oldest" and on and on and on.
Making yoga as accessible as possible is important to us at The Yoga Ground. And while our prices are less than the other yoga studios in the area, we realize that this doesn't necessarily mean we are more affordable. Inspired by other local businesses running pay-it-forward campaigns, we have created our own.

The instructors are so helpful at "The Yoga Ground."In case you haven't tried yoga before they offer a beginner's class too. This yoga studio is really clean, has a variety of classes at different times of the day, which is good for people with different work/life schedules. Love this place!!!

Very cool yoga studio. Kristen helped me sign up for a different class (which was my first class there) when I was not feeling well and unable to attend. She made me feel very welcome.
My last time doing yoga was about four years ago. I was the only male-presenting person in this class, but having read about TYG's mission, to help aspiring yoga practitioners put aside societal expectations of who they should be and how they should look, I didn't feel insecure about it. Of course, it helps that I've done yoga before, but looking around and seeing a wide range of folks in my class helped reinforce

The Yoga Ground started out to me as a bright, beautiful little spot to challenge myself and learn more about yoga while doing some self care, but now, The Yoga Ground is my home, my family, and my community. If you have ever considered trying yoga for the first time THIS IS YOU SPACE! If you've ever questioned if you have a "yoga body" and whether you would feel comfortable in a yoga studio THIS IS YOUR SPACE! If you have ever said the phrase "yoga isn't for _______ people like ME".... THIS 👏 IS 👏 YOUR 👏 PLACE 👏💕💕💕💕 Come let TYG knock your socks off with an amazing yoga

I love this studio; it's clean, bright and welcoming. I'm not new to yoga but I really enjoy taking Kristen's beginner class as she really breaks down and explains the poses. I've never had poses so well explained before and I find it very beneficial. Also, because this studio is so affordable and close to home, I can take yoga classes on a regular basis. I also love the Restorative class with live music. The teachers have been great. I only wish I had checked out The Yoga Ground sooner!

The best Yoga going in this whole area... classes are safe ... fun and mixed. The owner knows a lot about yoga, the body and injuries. It feels like home - is not corporates and serves a diverse population where everyone is respected and every "body" is honored! So WHAT are you waiting for? Go! And while your there sign up for a reasonably priced package or a monthly at a price you won't find elsewhere! She makes yoga accessible and affordable and offers a yoga bank for those who can't afford!!

One of my favorite spots in downtown West Orange! Their yoga classes are affordable, made for all different levels of practice, and made available to the community through downtown events and summer activities. The atmosphere and space is beautiful and really is a calming and peaceful place to practice. The owner, Kristen, is always a friendly face and I recommend this place to anyone who wants to start or continue their yoga practice.

I have been using class pass for a month and have taken classes all over north jersey/Essex county and in NYC. This is by far my favorite studio I've taken class at! I have taken two classes here and both instructors were inspiring and uplifting. There is definitely something magical in the air here and it is so very welcoming and warm. I wish all yoga studios were like this one! My husband came with me to my second class and he also really loved it.
Can't wait to go back.
