Nice and clean. They need AC in the building. Those hot weather weeks seem like months....

Let me start by saying that I've been at Marvel for 3 years so this isn't a whimsical or heated review. Short and simple, look elsewhere for a place to live.

-location is unbearably loud if you want to be outside, on the corner of two busy streets- not a secret but I didn't realize how loud until I moved in.
-I can think of at least 4 managers in 3 years. Each making promises and selling snake oil. most blame "corporate" for issues
-Outdoor areas shutdown and locked for a "pandemic". No plans or accommodations such as limiting numbers or a sign up sheet- keep

We lived @ Marvel 29 apartments for about 6 months. We were waiting for our home to be built in the meantime. My husband and I have lived in many apartment complexes, and this one is probably the best one we’ve rented from. Here’s why:
1.) We had many packages delivered there and never had anything stolen or misplaced.
2.) The manager and his team were super responsive, kind, and worked through the messiness of our home buying situation.
3.) When we needed things to be fixed they were fixed promptly. Jose is super nice and responsive.
4.) free coffee is a major plus 😊
5.) the gym was

I’ve lived in four different states and I have to say, this apartment complex is the best home I’ve ever lived in. The move in process was easy and Tyler and Alyssa were so accommodating in helping us navigate a cross-country move. Tyler is also really helpful with quickly resolving any concerns and is accessible for any questions. Jose is also so friendly and skilled with maintenance issues and things are resolved swiftly. The complex is nice, secure, and well-maintained. We love the rooftop deck for dinners and relaxing. The location is also fun for easy access to coffee shops, restaurants

We just moved into Marvel29 and it has truly been such a great experience. We moved site-unseen, which can be really nerve-wracking, but Tyler and Alyssa were so friendly, helpful, and available for questions and concerns throughout the application and move-in process. The complex is safe and has a very warm and welcoming atmosphere. The courtyard and rooftop deck are such nice spaces to relax in and the gym is clean and well-equipped. We have a 2 bedroom which is spacious, has new up-to-date appliances and has a fresh modern style which we really enjoy. I would definitely recommend Marvel29 for

Clean, well-managed, good amenities and parking. Living there for 3+ months, the stairwells are clean, the layout is good so noise doesn't travel between units, there is plenty of parking around the building, no car break-ins or vandalism, and the managers and maintenance staff are highly attentive and do a fantastic job. ... It's the best apartment building I've lived in since moving to Portland and units are reasonably priced compared to the buildings around it. ... The bad: no wifi except in lobby, but that's not a problem with my phone plan. ... Great value overall.

Despite the increase of apartments in the St John’s area Marvel 29 appealed to us for being a smoke free building and also provides parking and storage which we needed. We have been residents of Marvel 29 for several years now and enjoy it! We have seen several hands of management & managers and would have to say since we’ve been here the manager Tyler has taken this place to higher standards which are really appreciated. Since Tyler ( manager )has been here, there is a soft, pleasurable music lightly played in the lobby as the beautiful fire is on really setting the due ambiance for the beautiful

I've lived here for almost three years, and this is the place I would recommend to anyone thinking of living in an apartment in Portland/St. Johns! The building is secure (as is the underground parking garage) which is a huge plus. They have package lockers now which makes getting packages a breeze, and the communal area's/gym are perfect (though closed currently due to COVID, as they should be!). There's a barber who works in the building who is great, and the rooftop area in my opinion has the best view in Portland.
If you want a stress free apartment building, this is the place for you! The

My fiancé and I went apartment hunting for almost a week in all of Portland and surrounding cities. We immediately fell in LOVE with Marvel29 not only was Cheney amazing the site manager Tanya is wonderful as well. We have not had a single problem with our process of getting everything settled in.

I've spent quite some time reading through the reviews for Marvel, and I'd like to say that we haven't experienced anything less than a welcoming and loving complex. Cheney and Tanya work incredibly hard and I appreciate them so much. They will stop what they are doing (if they can of

I've moved back into building so many times because I love it. Great place to live. Make sure you choose a layout that fits your needs! Some only have 1 window but, even then are great layouts. Utilities are super cheap. Onsite managers are professional and nice

I would not recommend this to a family/friend/stranger. Lived there for only a year and management changed three times and were disrespectful and unhelpful. Too busy to care about resident needs. The rooms themselves are extremely dark. One bedrooms only have one window and majority of them have no AC making them unbearable in the summer.

I wasn't going to leave this review, but I'm completely frustrated with management upon move out.

I can concur about management changing a minimum of 3 times, you never know who's going to be in the front office. It's impossible to communicate with them as you're never made aware there has been a change. They also changed their office hours without notifying residents. We had multiple issues with stolen packages, and they did nothing to help this situation.

The apartment itself is a huge part of why I moved out after a year. We lived on the 3rd floor facing the St John

Marvel management changed around January of 2019, and since this change, the apartment complex has become unorginazed, poorly run, and a horrible place to live. Here are some reasons:

- package theft: The management denies there is a problem, declines to even look at camera footage, and blames the UPS and USPS delivery people instead of accepting that the current system for package delivery is poorly run. I have had 2 packages stolen in just the month of March. Don't live here if you don't have an office to send all your packages to!
- broken down building: The 4th floor has had leaking

I've lived in Marvel 29 for nearly 2 years, and it's great! Love that this is an LEED certified building in a central location with arguably one of the best roof terraces in all of Portland. Management goes out of their way to help me with incoming packages, answering inquiries, helping me rent rooms for gatherings, etc... The people who work here have always felt like family to me, which makes living here such a unique experience. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a modern place to stay in Portland that feels like a home.

This place took our $ and agreed to lease us the unit we selected, asking for 4.5 times the income for monthly requirements! Upon our refusal to lease there, we were assured that our hold-for-rental checks would not be cashed. THEY POSTED FEES TO MY ACCOUNT ON Aug. 18. HAD TO PAY TO STOP IT FROM GOING THROUGH. We will NOT recommend Marvel 29 to our friends and neighbors. GreyStar is getting a reputation in this city for screwing people over. Sad but true. RENTER BEWARE. LOOK AT THE HORRIBLE REVIEWS ONLINE AS I NOW HAVE. THIS COMPANY DESERVES A SPECIAL SPOT IN CORPORATE HELL.

Preface: Marvel 29 is under NEW management since some of the more negative reviews!

Moving here has been a wonderful choice for myself and my dog, management is friendly, and works extremely hard to ensure their residents are comfortable (even my puppy loves them). One of the men who cleans the apartment was sick on a Friday and Nona from the leasing office was up vacuuming the hallways for her residents- I doubt you'll find another apartment building with that amount of care put in!

Very well kept building, easy application process, and timely appointment set up was my experience here

I'll preface my full review by saying that my 5 stars is based on my last few months living in the building. The beginning of my experience with Marvel was incredibly challenging due to management that is no longer there. A number of the reviews on this page mention difficulties with the building staff, and I can say with full confidence that the current management and facilities staff are spectacular.

Initially I applied for a studio, and the very next day I saw a one bedroom for less than the studio. The management team happily moved my deposit to the one bedroom instead. I've lived

Marvel 29 has been my first home in Portland and I am quite pleased with my experience here. Shay and the rest of the staff are friendly and always is willing to support when you need something. The building is a LEED Certified building that keeps the overall consumption of electricity and expenses of utilities down. The roof top terrace has amazing views of the Columbia River, St. Johns Bridge and Forest Park. Great location in close proximity to most things. Very walkable neighborhood! I feel safe living here and most residents are rather friendly. Thank you!

Full disclosure: I do not live there, and never will. This is based on my application experience. I just want to issue this as a warning to people who are thinking about it.

The building is brand new, and lovely, in a cool fun neighborhood, near the river, with stunning views. On top of that, the rent is relatively inexpensive, compared to other areas of town.

In order to submit an application, it was an arduous process involving tax returns to prove my income, a business plan (I was looking at a live-work space. I just wanted to use the work space as a home office, not as retail. Requiring

They just changed their outdoor parking so that there is none available by the building forcing you to purchase a parking spot in the garage. Most second bedrooms do not have a window. The kitchen drawers look larger from the outside than they are. The water pressure in the building is low. On multiple occasions I have had huge dogs jumping out of pet owners apartments. The neighbors let their kids run through the hallways for long periods of time. Rooms will barely fit a bed with much furniture. The doors do not keep much sound in or out of apartments. Overall the office staff is very friendly

I had been looking for a few months online at Marvel and when I finally settled on it I put my info in "get more info" option and I got a call a few hours later by Lisa. Lisa was super nice and very helpful over the phone as I am trying to rent from states away she made it easy and told me everything I needed to do. There was another gentlemen that helped me out I didn't catch his name but he was super helpful as well!

I'm sorry to hear of my other fellow Texan's experience, but I'm moving from San Antonio and luckily I have had the opposite experience of leasing with Marvel 29. First of all, it's so easy to lease that you can do so right online now. But of course having a person to talk to is helpful before doing so.

It was 5:05pm in Portland when I called, on a Tuesday, and on the first try I reached Lisa. She was very nice, patient and thorough in answering my questions about the different leasing options. The next day I was ready to book and as soon as they opened, I called twice in

Woo Marvel 29!

Came up from Southern California to apartment hunt in Nov while the building was still being constructed. (did hard hat tours) and scoped out a few diff places but Marvel 29 stood out the most.

Since the building is still fairly new it can be hard to get a hold of someone on the phone but Shay and Sam are easy to find in their offices or respond fairly quick thru email.

However, between our apartment hunting trip and up to the day of move in it was a little more complicated to get any response from management but I understood because it was just 1 employee here but hey, I didnt

What's a girl gotta do to rent an apartment here?! Here's my experience with attempting to do so.

Day 1: Sent email to apartment complex through their website (after hours) asking for someone to contact me ASAP as I'm interested in renting an apartment (and currently don't live in Portland) and need to ask some logistical questions before doing so.

Day 2: No response

Day 3: Call number on website. Rang and rang and rang and eventually threw me into a voicemail that at the end of the message tells me voicemail box is full and hangs up on me.

Day 4: Send another email through
