WARNING: Think twice about putting down a deposit with the Maui Kia Rental Program. You will never get your deposit back if Covid cancels your trip to Hawaii. All of our other reservations were reimbursed 100% even though it was not their policy. They took Covid into consideration. Maui Kia Rental Program is unsympathetic and will NOT reimburse you during this unusual time of Covid. I would recommend looking elsewhere.

Our unit was a spacious one bedroom with a sleeper sofa in the living room and on the lanai. Modern kitchen with top grade appliances. Literally overlooks the ocean. Walk to the right out the back of the condos and there's a nice beach right there.

Stayed here many times, there is no way you can be closer to the ocean. Watch surfers from your balcony just a few yards from the water’s edge. If you want to be close to the sound of the surf this is the best place I know of.
Being on the north end of Kaanapali Beach just north of “resort row” is great for beach fun yet also walking distance from local shops / grocery store / restaurants and a food truck garden.

Our room had construction next door. I saw a rat in the lobby. There are ants in the room. The exterior of the building looks dated and almost feels like a prison, although the interior of the room is nice. There is no HD channels on cable, even though the TV's are HD. The lanai doors were difficult to open and close, as well as the windows. The railing on the lanai was weak, which could be dangerous.

We rented a corner apartment on 9th floor, views were great. The building is too close to the water that it got me worried seeing waves splash water into the entrance

It was a good deal. We stayed in 1007. The ocean view is beautiful, and the oversized windows opened on a Juliet balcony that we kept open the whole stay. The one downside was that there was no towel/bedding replacement service during our week stay.

Beautiful breathtaking view!! But sorry to say... Don't trust the photo when booking the corner suite. There is No wrap around balcony with dining table on it. They blamed Booking.com for the misunderstanding. I was shocked at how rude the front desk person was!!! It was not good start to our vacay!! Also the furniture is VERY uncomfortable. The bed is a bit uncomfortable as well. The blankets and linens are the cheapest you can buy. The beach towels are awesome and the location is great and the room was very spacious. Not safe for kids & no swimming area on the beach. You have to go to another

A hidden gem. In unit 204 nice unit except they enclosed the lanai and no where to actually eat outside. Can see the great ocean abd hear through screen and windows The kitchen has everything and Timmy Bahama beach chairs and umbrella abd cooler. Other people have left bogie boards. Abd I'm leaving straw mat noodle and beach hat. My only complaint is only given 2 beach towels and 4 sets of towels. I ended up washing twice during the stay of the week. No laundry or towel exchange
I went through my perfect stays
Killer sunset from my unit but always went down stairs to take my pics outside

Great views, but deteriorating facility. When we arrived to find the office closed and no way to enter our condo (the access code had never been sent to us) I knew that everything wasn't going to be great here. But I never expected things to be so bad that I would wind up in urgent care with a puncture wound that might require stitches. (Spoiler alert: I did.) I'm sure the Maui Kai was one a first rate place. But those days are long gone. Access to the beach/water is boarded up with old pieces of plywood. Of the three units we rented, only one had a balcony. One had been modified to include the

We had such an amazing stay in June 2021. Clean place, comfy bed, soft towels, parking, and wonderful location. Unbeatable ocean views!! We saw turtles, dolphins, and rainbows right from our balcony. There are bunch of food trucks nearby which made for great quick dinners if we didn't feel like going out very far. To cap it all off, my husband happened to leave an entire drawer full of clothes behind when we departed after our lovely week. After calling the Maui Kai management, they kindly collected the shirts from the room and shipped everything back to us in Colorado. It was above and beyond

We really enjoyed our stay here in the condos. My only complaint is I didn't find an ice machine anywhere, which is such a miniscule issue 😂 other than that it was perfect!!

We have stayed at Maui Kai four times and this visit was not great. Our unit, 808, is looking tired and has a lot of deferred maintenance items that should have been corrected. Most of the windows were either difficult to open or would not stay open. They also all leaked so they whistled when the wind was blowing. The sliding screens on the west-facing large windows were damaged, had missing rollers and wouldn't close properly. Why didn't housekeeping report that the kitchen faucet was so loose that it spun around when trying to use it. The noisy A/C would not get the temperature

This is a beautiful condo and location to stay in when you're in Maui. Awesome views, friendly and helpful staff. Condo is located on the beach and is within walking distance to some local eateries; L&L Hawaiian BBQ, etc. I highly recommend Maui Kai Condos.

We love Maui Kai during whale season. There is simply nothing like a lanai right on the water to watch whales. We had a nice corner unit on the south side this time. The lanai is an open one and I loved it. I've stayed in the condos with glassed- in lanais and these are nice too, however my preference is open. We saw turtles and so many whales while just having coffee out there!
Our unit is clean and appointed with everything we needed including snorkel gear, binoculars, kitchen dishes and cute copper bottomed pans. There are ceiling fans and we did not even use the air conditioner. Maui

The room and facilities were very nice and better than expected. We had an issue being able to extend our stay for two days, and they tried to charge us 2-3 times what we had paid via expedia.com in order to extend our stay. I refused to pay that so we had to move to a different hotel which was a bit inconvenient. Anyway, as long as you don't need to get an extension, I believe you will be very happy with Maui Kai and we definitely enjoyed our time there.

I stayed in suite 301. The property was clean and had an amazing location. I enjoyed the sunsets and down time, away from crowds and drunk tourist. The condo was quiet, the pool had travelers that engaged in friendly conversation and the surroundings were calming and tranquil. I love the free parking and close location to the grocery store (across the street) and restaurants. Area for improvement would be, the patio door had NO screen ( no bueno). There were several times I choose to turn off the AC and enjoy the Maui breeze however without a screen, we spent too much time chasing birds out the

Very Very Happy about booking this place! We stayed here for 4 nights and each night was awesome!

We got an oceanfront view with a nice lanai where we were able to sit out at night and hang our swimsuits and towels to dry during the morning. This place is walking distance to the beach and there's even a little back boardwalk where I was able to go running and it connects all the hotels together nearby.

This is a bit far from Kahalui airport, about a 40 minute drive (very nice drive tho) but it's close to Lahaina which is where all dinner and tourist areas are. This is also about 2 hours

So I just had the most ridiculously amazing 4 days...our unit (1004) was absolutely PERFECT. The ocean view ... is gorgeous! The condo was well stocked with kitchen items.. dishes, pots, pans etc. The unit had 4 beach chairs and 2 boogie boards (in pristine condition btw) ... huge beach towels in addition to the excessive amount of bathroom towels. The A/C blew COLD ! It was awesome! We came for a wedding and lots of other couples also rented condos with "views " - ours was by far the best one!

The ladies at the front desk were kind, though I had very little need to interact with them

My wife and I stayed at Maui Kai Condos (#803) for 3 nights in May 2018. Here are some things we liked about the place:
1. The staff were courteous and helpful. In particular, I want to recognize Richard, the maintenance guy, who helped recover my wife's earring from the bathroom sink where she had inadvertently dropped it.
2. Although they do not have a 24X7 frontdesk, they made arrangements for us to pick up the keys for our room on our first night in a manner which felt solid. (This is something for patrons to keep in mind - the frontdesk closes at 7 p.m. and so you want to call them and

Maui Kai is a great 1 bedroom ocean view condo to stay in Lahaina. We rented Room 504 managed by a owner. Pleasant experience with fully equipped kitchen, bedroom, couch/bed convertible in the living room and other essentials equipped for beach activities like beach chairs, beach umbrella, snorkeling gears, beach towels and others etc. Wonderful sit out chairs and tables in lanai facing ocean perfect to enjoy your meals while listening to the waves/watching moon or simply just relax and read books. Several island exploring books were also available along with few DVDs. Washers/dryers are located

Was staying at Maui Kai last week for 6 days. Not a luxury resort but its an economical option. Location is great - by the beach, across the street from Times Super Market, close to Avis/Budget car rental, parking is free and there are other restaurants close by. We took the taxi from OGG airport and it costed approx $95. We took Uber back to the airport for $53. I would recommend renting a car from OGG airport if you are planning to get a rental car anyways. The kitchen is fully equipped if you want to eat in. In the room there's also beach umbrella and beach chair you can use.

This is not a luxury condo resort. We were looking for something cheap but clean since we couldn't check into the Grand Wailiea until later.
Your experience will be solely depend on which room you get. I thought I did enough research online to see the room and all. But when we go there....things were fine except for that bed.
Yes we were only going to be a few days, but geez this fold out bed is terrible. By the third day, i really had to complain about it. Thankfully after they saw the condition of the bed, they switched us to another condo---WOW what a difference! this condo was updated

Currently in Maui for my brithday. The Maui Kai has been a great place to stay so far. The staff is wonderful, everyone is so nice and informative.
This isn't a place to go if you are looking for top notch amenities. They don't have a massive pool, golf course, etc. If you are looking to relax for a decent price - this is it. That ocean breaks up against the building so I sleep like a baby. We have a full kitchen to keep snacks and drinks. (Or cook if we want.) The condo is clean, doesn't smell like mold. And the sunsets are superb. I would recommend a stay here for sure!
