I have been in the building for almost 4 years. As soon as COVID let's up, I will be moving.
Pros: is in a good walking neighborhood with Cleveland Park one direction and Van Ness the other. You can also take a subway one stop to Tenley and to all connections on the metro.
Maintence people are very nice and work to be responsive. Appreciate their help.
The manager listens and tried to be helpful. There are just so many issues with the age of the building.

CONS - the building is just OLD! They opened the walls to my neighbors apt and they had MOLD growing on one COMPLETE wall behind tile

I've lived at 3801 for 1.5 years and have loved living here! The management is equally responsive but not overly prescriptive--which I appreciate. The location is great and it's very close to the heart of Cleveland Park, Van Ness, and Cathedral Heights. The rent is also relatively cheaper than other buildings in this area.
The best parts of 3801 are Kanmi and Aaron (front desk and leasing office). They are both incredibly warm spirited, friendly, responsive, and just radiate joy! Also, the cleaning and maintenance staff are super responsive and helpful.
Pro tip--the parking in the building is

Updating this review to reflect a couple things. The property manager reached out to me and maintenance also came into my apartment to look into the electric matter to prevent it from happening again, so hopefully that solution works. Shout out to maintenance because they've been responsive, professional, and helpful through this. However, I'm still slightly (very( annoyed that I even had to deal with all of this.

You should only move here if you like constant headaches.

Bozzuto is awesome! I had such a great experience moving in this year. Everyone is extremely friendly and helpful. Kanmi at the front desk is especially there to help you with any needs you may have. I'm so happy I made the choice to move here. My apartment is really awesome too- quiet and really modern. I love my walk-in closet. I reccomend!

Update: Move-out was simple, they worked with me during COVID-19 to help with rent payments, and the staff is amazing. Overall my experience has been excellent and I recommend 3801 to anyone considering moving there.
Well explained application process, nice staff, quiet and respectful neighbors, quality apartments with great closet space, and a great price.

After speaking to Aaron Carr and receiving a virtual tour, I wanted to share my great experience.
I can't express enough how helpful Aaron was during this stressful time. He promptly answered all my questions (many of them without me even asking—what a mind reader!) and immediately hopped into a zoom call to give me a virtual tour. During the tour he was so detailed, even noting outlets, contractors who could install more shelves, differences in that layout from the available studio layout such as the beautiful park view, and suggestions on how to use the space. Aaron was personable and lively

I’m not a regular reviewer due to being excessively busy, but I just wanted to take the time out of my day to thank Aaron Carr for tirelessly working on securing my first apartment home. Upon hearing countless stories of what a nightmare the process is for first time renters and buyers, I consider myself blessed to have met Mr.carr who did an outstanding job. From efficient communication and keeping me updated and informed, to finding me the best home that fit every criteria I had, to the application and approval process he was right beside me and made it the easiest encounter ever. He went out

This is my second review, as my first was before I even moved in and posted on the Bozzuto website. I am happy to say my experience at 3801 has far exceeded expectations and this is week one after moving in on Saturday (Halloween). The staff are amazing, including Aaron Carr who has gone above and beyond to make sure I am comfortable and happy with my New place. At check-in even with pandemic restrains, Aaron was able to give me a quick socially distanced walkthrough of the place, and even caught up to me later in the day as I moved my things, to give me an update. I'd also like to give a

I completed an extensive apartment search before moving to DC about six months ago and could not be happier with my decision with 3801 and the Bozzuto company. The staff is always very helpful and creates a welcoming environment, from the moment you walk in the door. There is always someone at the front desk to help you, like Kanmi Fakeye who goes above and beyond to make 3801 feel like home. There are also monthly diverse social events to meet neighbors and the building is a pet-friendly environment. The apartment complex is always clean and the each maintenance request is answered promptly. I

I am writing this review before even signing my contract, because Aaron Carr at 3801 Connecticut Ave was so amazing this past week. I did a virtual tour with him, and he was extremely detailed and friendly, as well as communicative of the possibility of us loosing reception during the tour, which did happen for 2 minutes, and he then made sure I had video of the inside of the closer, by sending it to my phone. Aaron was super positive, and was excited for me to hopefully move in. I was recently accepted for the credit, and just waiting for the background check to clear, but can't wait to make this

Moved here recently and I must say I love this building! Updated appliances, fabulous location and everyone is very friendly. Maintenance is wonderful as well. I love the model of my studio and hear very little noise. I would recommend this to anyone looking to live in a great location in DC.

I have had an excellent experience living in 3801 thus far. The price is right; reasonable rent for what I'm getting. Above all-the staff is tremendous. Everyone in the leasing office and the front desk is super helpful, accommodating, and always pleasant and friendly. I highly recommend 3801.

It's just not worth it. The apartment is, in terms of economics, a good deal for the area - Cleveland Park is fairly expensive - but it's just not worth the trouble of day to day living at this building.

Firstly, let me say that you get a lot of square footage for the monthly rent. That's a huge plus, as you could easily pay the same for a 400 sf studio in a different part of town. The difference is, that other building probably has way better amenities and a much better interior design. The saying you get what you pay for rings true here.

Laundry: The laundry room is truly frustrating

The apartments are spacious, the rent is inexpensive, most utilities are included, and the views are spectacular. My studio feels like a one bedroom, and with two walk-in closets, I never feel cramped, and I literally moved here from a one bedroom! And with a pet-sitting service for cats if you go out of town, guest rooms available if you have people coming in from out of town, AND management that actually wants to make sure you're feeling right at home? It's a hidden paradise.
Since the building has some tenure, the walls have brick in them, which means I never hear anything but the birds right

Current (and fairly new) resident here...I kinda feel like I need to defend the place. A lot of what other folks have said is true--it's an old building, with almost constant work going on. If you lived through the previous construction here, I salute you, because it can't have been fun, but my impression is that they are close to being done with the big stuff.

The renovated hallways are on the dark side, but they do look like someone took the time to care about them, which matters. I'm in an updated apartment, and it's nice to have a full size dishwasher and non ugly appliances

This is a good building to live in a great neighborhood. I've been living here for over a year and have no issues. Any small concern is resolved promptly once reported to management. It's the amazing staff that also make this a great building. In particular, Ricardo Irby deserves to be recognized. He can be seen working at the front desk and is always polite and helpful to all the residents. For example, on more than one occasion he has held the door open for me and other residents who are struggling to get in the door with bags. He has even personally delivered packages to my door. Thank

I moved out of my moldy apartment (unit 418) in September and still havent gotten my security deposit back (in DC landlords have 45 days to return the $) and I can't get through to a single person or even a voicemail at 3801 or Bozzuto. Seriously, is there anyone in charge or accountable within this building and the organization that runs it? I continue to be amazed by the incompetent staff and management. And I've lived in a lot of crap apartments!

I needed a place asap when moving to DC. This place, although an old building is perfect. As people move out they update the apartments which as super cute, great flooring, new applicants, and modern paint color. They work very hard to keep the common areas clean, and the laundry machines are always clean as well as the small gym and library. They currently are working on the updating the hallway. The best place about this place is the front desk staff. They all knew me and asked about things we talked about. It is a true small community with wine events and even during the snow storm had a

I've lived here since December and love my studio apartment - it's over 500+ square feet, which is pretty generous in DC. I love that the apartment includes all utilities, too. I initially thought the location was far from Downtown (UberPools are typically $2.99 to 14 & U), but I think it is a perfect location for someone who wants to be close enough to the action, but far enough to get their space. The team (leasing, management and service) are super nice to work with. Neighbors? It's super quiet in the building. The floors and walls are concrete/cement because I can barely

I really can't speak highly enough of this place. This was by far one of the friendliest, most helpful apartment complexes I've ever had the pleasure of joining. The rooms are beautifully renovated with brand new kitchen appliances and hardwood floors. And the staff was always so willing to help with any issue I had. AND they made it a point to get to know everyone and for everyone in the community to get to know each other. If I didn't have to move for a job, I would've stayed in 3801 for a long time.

Is this an older building? Sure. But the renovations they're making

I am not one to write poor reviews, but this apartment building is truly terrible. The building is old and moldy. As you will notice by reading the reviews below, I am not the only tenant who has had issues with mold. Management knows about this issue and continues to ignore it. The mold has caused me to break out in rashes, exasperated my asthma, and has made my cat very very sick. I noticed that this issue was related to moisture because my walls were cracking and the brand new flooring in my "renovated unit" is already coming up. After submitting air samples for testing, the results

I have lived here since January 2016 and still live here. I have to say, there are pros and cons so here we go.

Pros:
- the location is great. Walk to everything, cheap ubers, lots of public transit, safe neighborhoods for miles, rock creek park is literally at your door step
- they've renovated units that look nice.
- they have guest parking available (first come first serve) and a guest suite you can rent.
- pet friendly, no bug or rodent problems.
- community has stepped up to hold more events and replace horrendous agents.
- laundry in building
- grills available in the warm months

I have lived here for about 7 months now. I do live in a renovated unit so at face value it looks nice. The quality of the renovation isn't great, the laminate floors are popping up and the only outlet in the kitchen is directly above the stove top so good luck plugging in a toaster or blender etc. Generally my maintenance requests are resolved pretty quickly although I had some major electrical issues initially and it took them a good 4 days to figure them out, which meant I had no working stove or microwave for those days.

The windows are quite old and barely function but my biggest complaint

Ok, first I call them in order to schedule a tour, they say they will return my call; they never do. Then, I call again to reach the leasing office, they tell me to fill up the forms. I fill the questionnaire. No answer but the spam mails saying that I should schedule a tour. I send them an email, and never get an answer to my mail but keep receiving stupid mails again telling me to schedule a tour. Not a serious management.

Solid okay from me. Definitely pros and cons to this place. Management just changed, which so far I see as a good thing! I am sure I will update this in a year.

GREAT neighborhood! Safe, and lots around. Building is quiet, apartments are spacious.

Problems:

We once had something stolen from our apartment when the maintenance staff was there, and I was very unimpressed by the building response.

Old building, things fall apart, and haven't really been updated.

They are renovating apartments, so the prices are going up, and I think they are trying to push out people so they can renovate

What a terrible living experience.

First of all, extremely overpriced for what you get: old pipes - the bottom water dispenser of the tub let out black grit due to galvanized pipes.

The kitchen was "updated" - 1970's cabinets and new fridge and mini stovetop/oven.

Carpets - not replaced, but "steam cleaned." Could have fooled me.

Gas leak in my unit was unattended to. In fact, my concerns were dismissed and I was told I was smelling things. Took the leasing office an entire week to have the gas company come out to confirm - nothing short of a GAS LEAK, which in fact

I've lived here for about a year and a half now. There's a few good things about the place and a bunch of negatives as well. Here's what's up with 3801:

The Good:
- The rear of the building has some really nice, quiet units that overlook Rock Creek Park. If you get one of these your are golden. If you don't you should think twice about living here.
- The building has good in-apartment maintenance and are quick to fix things inside your apartment.
- They recently rolled out the ability to put maintenance requests in online and pay rent online (this took them
