One of the immediate benefits of massage is a feeling of deep relaxation and calm. This occurs because massage prompts the release of endorphins - the brain chemicals (neurotransmitters) that produce feelings of wellbeing. Levels of stress hormones, such as adrenalin, cortisol and norepinephrine, are also reduced.
Reformer - Mixed Level: Mixed-level class focusing on Pilates fundamentals and classic Reformer and Wunda Chair exercises. Power Pilatesmat: Pilates Powermat challenges the core and stabilization of the trunk while strengthening and toning your arms and legs. This class challenges neuromuscular coordination by incorporating more complex choreography than a traditional matwork class.

It was recommended to me by several people to try Pilates Reformer. (As opposed to mat work Pilates, which I used to do, the machine guides you and won't let you overdo it.) I initially called around to a few places in town that offered Reformer: one never called me back, one basically read information their web site; but then there was Maura at Shyft, who answered all my questions, made me feel more secure, and was the reason I chose this location.

Life changing! Maura knows so much about the body and tailors the class to the needs/injuries of the people in class. I was referred by a friend after I slipped a disc in my back….the most recent injury of 10 years of bulging disc issues and constant back injuries. Two month after starting I was pain free, 6 months later I was able to do most other exercises without injuring my back, and after 12 month I feel 10 years younger. I feel like Shyft gave me my life back! A must do as an accompaniment to any other sport you are doing - even if you are healthy now.

I took this class after thanksgiving and glad I did! Bonnie was awesome and really knew how to guide each person based on their strengths and weaknesses. It was my first time using the Pilates machine and I was a little nervous at first but Bonnie made me feel comfortable. I'm going to take another class when I get back to Tucson!

I was back at my parent's home for an extra long break and decided to bite the bullet and start Pilates (which I've been wanting to do forever). The introductory package is reasonably priced at $200 for two private sessions and four group. I highly recommend this for beginners! The two private sessions helped me to acclimate to the studio and the equipment, and I felt comfortable joining the group classes after that.
I'm very very inflexible and have an incredibly weak core, but the classes were fun, challenging, and not too strenuous! There is a max of 8 students per class, but

This was my first experience with pilates & now I've been spoiled! I've been working with Molly for private sessions for almost a year - her attention to detail, knowledge, ability to properly cue & personalize each session is amazing. The price is well worth it - each hour session is packed with exercises that are challenging, engaging & always a little different. The entire studio is clean, friendly & professional.

Took a pilates class here, really liked the reformer machine! It was my first time using one. The class was small so I felt comfortable, the studio is clean and cute and the instructor I had (Megan i believe) was really good at making sure I was doing things correctly w/o making me feel like I was awkwardly standing out. Got a fun, different, total body workout in an hour and I can definitely feel it. Highly recommend!

This is my first exposure to Pilate's. After almost two years of sessions, I have been amazed at how this exercise strengthens and tones with low impact. Each session is unique and personalized to my specific needs. Maura, my trainer, has the expertise of a physical therapist. Her thorough knowledge of body musculature has taught me how to apply the Pilate's Principles to specific daily routines. Essentially your workout applied to everyday life! I'm so thankful that I discovered this highly professional and fun studio.
