Rachael did a great job rescuing my platinum blonde hair that I had let the roots grow way too much in. She suggested a new color that I now love, was efficient and kind, and gave me manageable and simple styling ideas that I am now going to implement in my haircare routine. JLS Hair is a new location in Johnston. I love the new place! But what I love even more is Rachael-- she is amazing! I feel like a new person when I leave there. Kelly is by far the best stylist I've ever met in my life. She is brave, patient and very knowledgeable. She listens to what I want instead of deciding my hair fate for me (that used to happen all the time) She is flexible and honest. You can tell she genuinely loves what she does because she never pushes for more than what is necessary. I've had many hair ventures with Kelly and she has managed to always make me feel beautiful. From blonde to black to red and back. Kelly nailed it every time and my hair is as healthy as ever. Thanks for keeping me confident Kelly!

My daughter had a haircut and blowdry appt yesterday and she was turned away from blowdry because the stylist told her it was gonna take too long because she has curly hair. Very disappointing and rude. My daughter came home in tears. I hope you all read this at the hair salon. Very unprofessional to do this. Will no longer recommend you to anyone.

Amanda is AMAZING! She cut and colored my daughter's hair, today and it was my daughter's first ever hair cut. Amanda was very patient, showing my daughter all the stuff she asked about, like a typical 8 year old, and worked well with her when she squirmed or moved. I'm so glad I came here and will reccomend anyone go and definitely ask about Amanda.

Be careful. I’m new to RI but have gotten Keratin treatments 2x a yr for about 5 yrs now. My hair is thick and frizzy & Keratin makes my hair completely straight and soft for 5-6 months. Unfortunately I got a new stylist.....
It’s been 6 weeks and my hair is ALREADY back to being frizzy and unmanageable. Complete waste of $250 that I don’t have to waste.
Make sure you go to a stylist who rents a chair and has a following if you need experience.

I found this place on instagram and have never dyed me hair before and read good reviews( so i thought). When i went to my first appointment i asked for caramel balayage but basically just got a huge streak of light brown hair in my bangs and a couple streaks in the back. i went back again after 3 months to see if they could redeem themselves and was disappointed again. asked for the same caramel balayage and got the blondest highlights in my very dark brown/black hair. it was decent but not what i asked for. when i got home and checked my hair some more i noticed half of my head didn't get

I recently moved to the area and was searching for a last minute Sunday hair appointment. I called the salon soon after it opened and left a message asking for a same day appointment. I doubted I'd hear back but within an hour I had a call back an appointment scheduled for later that afternoon. The salon was easy to find using GPS and there's a parking lot right outside. The receptionist and the salon owner, Jess, greeted me when I arrived and Jess even offered me an herbal tea while I waited for my stylist, Kristen. The salon is very nicely decorated and the reception area is comfortable

Ummm, the fact that this place is in an old fire station is pretty awesome. The salon is in the garage and they can open the garage doors to 1. Let some fresh air through and 2. Show all the passer-bys how beautiful the salon is. I only come here when I visit my in-laws once a year from California. When I do, I get my hair done by the talented and beautiful Brittany Geremia. She will always be straight with you on how a process will work on your hair and talk you down from a ledge if you walk in with dark hair and want pink hair STAT! The reseptionist was nice, but I googled this place and it said it was kid friendly. When I go in is open and they tell me they don’t take clients until 2 and also that they have a no kid policy. False advertising I guess. Some moms don’t have a choice but to bring the little ones with them. This is a thumbs down. Exactly why my hair is ugly as a mom hair dresser is hard to see this. Can’t wait to open my own salon so all the mommas and their babies can come get beautified by me. Beautiful decor though. Wish this salon owner the best I her business.

I was told this was the best place around, I was sadly mistaken. Your better off not having your hair fried off by snobby wannabes who have no hair on their own damn heads. If they could shave you bald they would in a heart beat. All they do is gossip and talk amongst themselves about who's doin who. "If you know what I mean" Not to mention the unnecessary up charge they nonchalantly add to to your bill unexpectedly. I know its tough out there and you have to pay your rent and all, but that is absolutely unprofessional to put your own personal problems on other peoples wallets.

Been coming to suzy for years...she does an amazing job on my hair....the building is an old firehouse that is absolutely beautiful inside...atmosphere in great and the staff and owner are all very friendly... michelle does the spray tan and she is awesome...makes you feel very comfortable....love this salon

What a mess. I came here as a new client for a hair cut. First I was taken back 20 mins late. The gal doing my hair (I believe her name is Kelly? Could be wrong) left me three times to work on her other client. I understand some stylists can handle double booking. That's fine. She clearly can't. Between pulling out foils, shampooing and toning... it was clear she needed my appointment time for her other client. I was far from a valued client. My stylist Seemed extremely novice. She didn't cut any layers in the front... I think she forgot as she went to assist her other client. My
