At Great Grins Dental, we are firm believers that prevention is the best medicine. It is our responsibility to provide regular dental cleanings and checkups as part of your general dental care to keep your teeth and gums healthy and your smile looking its best. Typically performed every 6 months, dental cleanings are the key to good oral health.

At our office, we use clinical laboratory services from OralDNA Labs to ensure we are giving our patients the best oral health information possible.

Dr. Fossum and staff were kind enough to help me out in an "emergency" (emergency to me, anyway) over a holiday. Everyone was so nice and patient with me and my dental anxiety, making me feel comfortable and well cared for. Office is well equipped and attractive and well located. Would definitely recommend!

This place has recently been taken over by a new dentist and his wife. They are extremely friendly, accommodating, and efficient.
Upon arrival, you will be greeted with Megan, the dentists' wife, who is very welcoming and kind. The assistant is very personable and friendly and experienced in what she does. The dentist is calm, kind, and has a gentle hand and should put anyone with a fear of dental work at ease.
I am leaving Austin soon and wanted to get everything done before the move, and we were able to accomplish everything quite quickly.
I also do not have any Insurance, and I was worried

I love going to Great Grins Dental. It’s a small place that isn’t overly posh, but is very nice. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. Customer service is a huge priority. The dentistry is excellent and you are not going to get talked into things you don’t need. I highly recommend it! Friends I have sent here have thanked me afterwards because they, too, had a wonderful experience.

Every single person who works here goes above and beyond expectations. From the receptionist to the dentist, everyone wants to make sure you have the most positive experience possible, which is hard for a dental office. I personally have pretty bad anxiety when it comes to dental procedures, but Dr. Fossum pulled out all the stops to make sure that I didn't feel a thing during my numerous fillings. And the bedside manner from all the staff is excellent, so compassionate and thoughtful. I cannot stop singing their praises, which are well-deserved.

My boyfriend had some trauma with a previous dentist and hadn’t been to the dentist in a while. We saw the reviews for this office and I scheduled him a consultation to get to know the office prior to any services. He was blown away with the empathy and understanding of the office and is now ready to start his smile journey !! I was really glad with all the help we received scheduling this type of an appointment.I recently Changed Dentist and I am now going here as well excellent customer service was provided throughout the visit. The doctor and hygienist were very knowledgeable and comforting

This is an excellent place to have your teeth cleaned, maintained, fixed up, etc. Super friendly, their tech is impressive, the staff and doc are crazy good (knowledgeable and also actual human beings), it's exceptionally clean and they are accommodating in a variety of ways. While I won't give you my hygienist's name because I'm selfish, when you call and speak to Meg you'll instantly be very, very happy.

My first visit was great Morgan the hygenist did a amazing job she is very friendly and took interest in me and very professional on the service that she did
The Dentist Erica is very nice and also very professional the receptionist was very nice
I thought this is a good touch on having a toothbrush in the restroom with toothpaste already on in case you forgot or need to brush again

Dr. Elward and her staff are extremely friendly and professional. I was seen for my appointment on time and provided with excellent customer service. The office is lovely, full of light and very clean. One area of improvement: the staff had a hard time figuring out my straight-forward health insurance. After two phone calls, by the time I got to the office, it still had not been verified. But when I arrived, it was quickly resolved once I presented my ID card. Good experience; I recommend it.

Dr. Shaw was very kind and professional as well as her staff. I've recently went to a dentist here in CA cause I moved and I gave them a 4 star. For Dr. Shaw, she's getting 5 stars.

Dr. Shaw and her associates truly made me feel like family. I have not been to a dentist in many years and i had a emergency tooth extraction that required much more finesse then i originally thought. I was able to get in and get it taken care of the same day, truly amazing. They continued to check in on me and worked with me regarding my employment considering i spend all day on the phone at work. I would HIGHLY recommend Dr. Shaw and the entire staff at great grins dental.

Dr.Shaw is an amazing Dentist, I've had to have extensive Dental work and as someone who is even nervous to walk into a Dentist office, I felt comfortable, informed and cared about. She honestly cares and it shows. Her compassion for her paitients is second to none. As long as I am here in Austin, Dr Shaw will be my Dentist. Dr. Shaw and her staff are amazing and they work with you and your schedule for appointments. I can't express my thanks enough for this outstanding practice.

Dr Shaw and everyone at the office was wonderful. I loved that it's a small practice, so I know I'm going to see the same people and dentist (rather than getting bounced around a big office). They made me feel calm and went through my treatment plan thoroughly, and made sure all my questions got answered. I actually enjoyed a dental cleaning??? I'm glad I finally found a place that I'm not anxious to go to.

Our entire family has had great service from Dr. Shaw since she took over for Archie Imperial. He put his practice in good hands! Elaine has been taking care of us for many years now and we trust her with insurance quotes, judging how long a service will take and finding a slot in the schedule when we are in a hurry! Dr. Shaw is an exceptional, conscientious dentist. She's gentle and spends as much time needed to assure completion and accuracy of her work. I needed a crown replaced after braces and she made certain it fit comfortably and was the right shade. I mostly appreciate her thorough communication of everything she does. She's a "cut above the rest" And her office staff and assistant are accommodating and pleasant. A great team with a comfortable relaxing atmosphere.

Dr. Shaw and her staff are awesome. I moved to Austin from Boston a little over two years ago and have been looking for a great dentist since. I've always gone to family-owned dentist practices where the dentist actually knows you by name and spends more than 5 minutes in an examination. I made the mistake of trying out Floss for an Invisalign treatment when I first arrived in Austin. Needless to say, that was short lived. I came to see Dr. Shaw on recommendation from a friend. Her assistant gave me an amazing cleaning and then Dr. Shaw spent time walking me through my Invisalign treatments

I love everything about this dental office from the ambiance to the soft pleasant smell and music. The staff continuously makes me feel comfortable visit after visit. I have been well informed of my procedures, cost, insurance, etc. I find their follow up with us clients is amazing email, phone, text reminders of appointments and more.

My dental experience with Dr. Shaw and her associates was great! Christina was very meticulous and made sure the whole fillings process was comfortable and painless. Lauren the dental hygienist also gave me the most thorough and gentle cleaning I've ever had. There was no wait, and everyone at the office was very friendly and helpful. Christina and her team were great about explaining every process so you didn't feel out of the loop or overwhelmed. Overall, a very pleasant experience! Will definitely be back again.
