Dr. Audrey Su was born and raised in Dallas, TX. She first fell in love with the city of Austin when she attended UT Austin for her undergraduate studies and met her wonderful partner Luke. She received her Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree from Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas and moved to Philadelphia shortly thereafter.

This review is for the new location Sola Smile Co. on Menchaca. The office is beautiful but I honestly don’t care as long as the people are great. They ARE! The front desk team was super friendly and not pushy at all. After my consultation and even before my services at the actual visit, they went over costs/insurance with me and made sure I was good with it. They didn’t do that thing where they pull you into a room and push all their recommendations on you. They just straight up told me what I needed, how much it was going to cost and let me decide.

Second visit to Sola Dental six months after first teeth cleaning in almost two years. The hygienist warmly welcomed me and offered me a rolled up blanket to prop my head due to my vertigo I had mentioned in May. I had forgotten this myself and it was so thoughtful for him to have remembered that. Fast great cleaning. They are down to business when you arrive and communicate well through your choice of communication options. Bravo!

I had a great appointment at sola! Quick easy clean modern. I saw dr. Gent for a toothache and he was able to help me out right away and refer me to a great surgeon for an extraction. I love their holistic approach. I’ve been looking for a biological dentist and this is the place to go. I highly recommend coming here. I’ll be back for a cleaning as well!

Tried a couple Dentists on South Lamar before finding SoLa Dental and I’m just happy I kept looking until I did. Unlike my experience at the other offices, including Lydian, I felt respected, valued and cared for during my first appointment and every one since. Technology is updated and you can tell that everyone is very experienced. I highly recommend to anyone in Austin looking for a really good dentist!

I saw Monica, the dental hygienist, who was professional and made me feel at ease. Dr. Gent was really nice and efficient and a great communicator. Monica used a digital system to take 3D photos of my teeth/mouth which made everything so easy to see and understand what she and the doctor were talking about. They were also up front about prices which is always appreciated. I’m so glad to find a dentist that makes me feel comfortable and taken care of in Austin.

The first time I went, it was pleasant. Everyone seemed happy. The second time, the receptionist acted different like she was way too busy to talk to me. Things changed in the office. New people were there and scrambling it seemed. Everything was rushed. I asked what I'd be expecting to pay. No real explanation except that they aren't sure because I may need something extra. Okay. So they have no idea? Also, no explanation of what I was being charged for. I go to the front and was expected to pay $400 cash right then. I had to find a credit card and charge it. I recently went to see Dr. Gent after my wife could not stop raving about SoLa dental. I must say, her recommendation completely redeemed some of her previous seal of approvals. The office was very clean, with a lot of modern tech. The entire staff was very informative and helpful from beginning to end and Dr Gent was incredibly knowledgeable about my dental concerns. I've been wanting to get my amalgam fillings from my teenage years removed for a very long time. It's hard to find a dentist that takes the proper precautions. I know of two others in Austin and they both had year long wait lists. I also don't want a dentist to lecture me about how I need fluoride. Not happening. They don't! They get it. Anyway, the dentist and the hygienist were so friendly and made me feel very good about my teeth. I had the left side done this week and so far so good. My partner had this done years ago and was in a lot of pain afterwards so I was very nervous

Let me tell you why you should not go to other dentists than this place. I had a nagging cracked molar all Sunday not the best day for dentists. Monday I called them at 7:49 had and appointment @8:30. This guy invested in his business and is not into a lot of chit chat . He sent my scans to an oral surgeon in Circle C who was cool and the molar was out before noon. You will not have this happen anywhere else I've been here 52 years and most dentist are full of BS

Beginning with Anne Marie through the check-in, this was a great experience. AM understands insurance and is willing to walk you through costs based on your coverage. Not a novel concept but I felt they had my best interests in mind as we walked through required work.
Additionally, I was in an odd predicament transitioning jobs which led to a hectic follow-up visit with the insurer. Both AM and staff were understanding and patient.
Highly recommend their services.

The dental hygenist here was so friendly and amazing. This is silly but I was expecting to have netflix on the TV's based on the pictures but they do not. Definitely something I have recommended to them to really make them stand out as a spa. The staff is great, patient and very friendly. The location is easy with free parking and they have coffee and water in the lobby for the guests. Highly recommend!

I had a dental emergency this past week. Through yelp reviews I found SoLa. From the first phone call and throughout the entire process, I was treated with respect, kindness and zero judgment. They were able to get me in that day, I did not have to wait once I arrived, every single person I encountered was professional, pleasant and efficient. I was excited to go over here. New dentist, really close to where I live, etc. However my excitement left quickly after 5 minutes there.
I rate this experience similar to imagining when you go to a nice new restaurant, then somehow got food poisoning. THEN, gave them a pass and tried to go back and it was worse.
a) Planning is extremely poor
- I scheduled a cleaning AND a procedure to fix my chipped teeth. In fact I waited over 1 month for this appointment so I can have these procedures back to back. I confirmed this with my evernote. I EVEN took off of work to have a 10-1230 pm appointment

Dr. Gent and his staff are very personable and accommodating. I've never had to wait more than 5 minutes to be seen for an appointment. The office is also well equipped with what appears to be the latest technology in the industry (no waiting for old-school x-rays to be developed). They have been flexible with me when I've had to cancel/reschedule appointments, which I appreciate. They seem to go out of their way to ensure your comfort, like when they offered me a blanket in a cold exam room.

I personally had to have oral surgery (tooth extraction and implant insertion). I went to SoLa Dental and they made a rather unpleasant and traumatic type process very easy to undergo and significantly reduced pain and discomfort with their process and their professional, yet extremely friendly, bed side manner.
After the surgery, the staff was second to none with follow up emails and calls to ensure I was okay and that my healing process was progressing positively.
To anyone considering a dental professional in the Austin or surrounding area (Dallas, Houston, San Antonio), I have zero reservations
