Looking for the right therapist can be a challenging process. It is important to find someone who has expertise with your issues and you feel comfortable with. In our initial no-charge telephone consultation, we will decide together whether my therapeutic style and expertise is a good fit for you. My psychotherapy approach is supportive and interactive.
What starts out as harmless fun. a way to cope during a stressful time, a way to nurture yourself or even as a way to improve your life. Even the most successful people can have problems. For many years, I have worked with highly intelligent and creative people who discovered that their lives had become lessened or unmanageable due to their own or others' abuse or addiction.
Mind/Body interventions, also called Mind/Body Medicine, are a well-researched, safe and effective compliment to both medical and psychological interventions. Hypnosis, Energy Psychology, Imagery, and Psychoneuroimmunology are conducive to a brief problem-focused psychotherapy or can be integrated into a longer-term psychotherapy relationship.
If you wish, just for a moment, you can focus on the waves and imagine how good it would feel to relax and play in the waves of life. We live in a complicated world, so completely eliminating stressors is probably unrealistic. You can be happier and healthier by learning to identify and reduce the stress in your life and change your response to it.
If you have been living with the effects of trauma, you might feel isolated from those around you. Friends and family may not understand what you have experienced or how to support you. In addition, many trauma survivors carry negative beliefs about themselves and trauma-stress in their bodies. It is beneficial to talk with a trained psychotherapist, like myself, that can help you to process the troubling memories, thoughts and feelings.
