Dr. Barry grew up in Camillus and graduated from West Genesee High School in 1976. He then attended Cornell University and graduated in 1980. He then attended Downstate Medical Center and did a three year Internal Medicine Residency in Boston at St. Elizabeths Hospital. He returned to Central New York to join his father in private practice.
Our Certified Medical Assistants will be there for assistance from the beginning to the end of your visit. All of our medical assistants look forward to making your visit a comfortable and happy experience. Our front office team will make sure you are seen the same day when you are sick and not feeling well.
Our providers at Preventive Medicine believe seeing you once a year for an annual exam is crucial in your overall healthcare maintenance. During this visit your provider is able to give you a thorough check up that may or may not include an EKG, routine blood work, urinalysis, vision test, hearing test etc.
An EKG, also called an electrocardiogram, is a simple and relatively inexpensive test to look at the electrical output of the heart. As the heart beats, it sends out electrical impulses and this impulse is measured and from this we get the heart rate, which can be a sign of your conditioning and/or medical problems like atrial fibrillation, ectopic beats, etc.
Your provider may suggest to have this test when your blood pressures are not normal. A blood pressure cuff with a recorder will be worn for 24 hours to take measurements automatically every 15 minutes. You will be asked to keep a diary to note activities when measurements are taken. Keeping the diary will help your provider make decisions concerning treatment.

I used to have a high opinion of this place. That has changed. They dropped me as a patient. They did the same exact thing to me as the other reviewer wrote that they did to her. They dropped me so they say because I missed my yearly physical. They never sent me a reminder or anything that it was coming up. I think they could care less about their patients. And youare just a dollar sign to them. If you are not in there every other day for something so they can bilk your insurance company they drop you. And use the missed yearly physical as an exuse to justify dropping you.

Worst care ever. Would not recommend them to anyone. Dr Knudsen is the worst the pad their bills and just to make more money, but do not even address your issues. Transferred and received the help I finally needed. AVOID this place they are a factory and just want money do not care in the least about your health.

This office is rude and only cares about fees. They called me and told me if I didn’t come in for an annual physical, I would be dismissed as a patient. Then in the middle of a move, they sent me to collections after a bill went unpaid for 4 months. I called them to pay it and they said they would not accept money from me. I had to pay the collection agency they sent it to along with the $50 charge the collection company charged. My original bill was only $40. I had been a patient there for 5 years and this was how they treated me after being late with a bill. The billing manager was really rude

That time I had no insurance and the price of visit and examination was too ridiculous so I have to call to cancel few appointments. Now, I, finally, got insurance and my NP said she is not willing to have me back into this place because I am consistently missing appointment. Well, HELLO, I had no insurance which I can't really afford the visit and examination with my part-time job.
Plus, I am Deaf and I consistently ask them to prepare for ASL Interpreter and they kept forget it. So, sorry to say this, the service is 1 star rate.

This place only wants money. If your not sick enough they get rid of you. They want you to come monthly when you don't need to and in 3 yrs I never saw a Doctor only NP'S. You must have blood work 4x's annually so they can make money. I had Lynn Carrey nurse they charged doctor prices when she was a NP. She was petty and unprofessional. I moved my entire family from this practice and yet Dr. Kaufman was a great Dr., but the way things are practiced makes it hard to remain a patient. You only feel they want money there not concerned with your health. Read Resident S. review

Went for a standard yearly Wellness/Physical exam in order to get the discounted price for my monthly insurance premiums, well lets just say YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!
First off they charge you $100 when you walk in the door and require you to leave your credit card number with them.
Then they do MORE than what is covered with your annual physical exam coverage or they do the billing incorrectly to make it look as though they are charging for a second office visit.
They do NOT send you a bill in the mail they AUTOMATICALLY charge your credit card and send you a receipt. How kind.
So your 'free

Ellen Lynne Carey was always a very nice NP. She was the only reason I continued going there for so long. Mostly everyone else is a joke especially Manfreddi. He refuses to acknowledge your complaints and instead offers holistic remedies for everything. If you say they aren't working then YOU are the one that must be doing something wrong. I had gone for chronic back pain, a history of depression and anxiety, as well as simple strep throat and each time was either referred out or dismissed. for the strep I ended up having to go to urgent care to get it treated. Not to mention the fact if you reschedule
