I am a licensed, clinical psychologist with more than fifteen years experience working in various clinics, mental health treatment settings and private practice. Therapy entails curiosity and honesty, the desire to make discoveries about yourself and a wish to bring about changes in your life. This exploration can lead to new opportunities, higher self value and an increased sense of satisfaction and harmony in your relationships.

Services
People often seek therapy when they feel stuck in their relationships or pain, and they want to make sense of their interactions and achieve a better quality of life. There are many factors, often outside of our awareness, that influence us and impact how we relate to others. Therapy can provide a path to understanding and relief from symptoms that get in the way of a happier, more emotionally satisfying life.
The psychotherapy relationship is unique, in that the relationship exists in order to help you learn about yourself, your emotions, behaviors and reactions to others, and to develop deeper contact with your feelings. Therefore, it is important you find a therapist you trust who has the skills and personal depth to collaborate with you as you journey more deeply into yourself and work towards the changes you want to make.
Every woman is in perpetual transition. And wherever you are, you can experience growth and inner peace though self-understanding, enhanced self-esteem and a clear perspective. The way you face a transition can determine the outcome, and how satisfied and fulfilled you feel going forward in your life.
I am a clinical psychologist, licensed in the state of California. I earned my doctorate from the Wright Institute in Berkeley, CA. I have extensive training in working with individual adults, children, adolescents and couples. I work through a psychodynamic, or insight oriented, perspective by helping people look within themselves to identify unhealthy patterns and potential conflicts that can hinder a robust self.
As I adjust my rate from time to time, please contact me to discuss my fee. While I do not currently accept health care insurance, I do work with insurance companies as an out-of-network provider. This allows greater confidentiality for you. You may contact your insurance company and inquire about your mental health "out-of-network benefits."

I was at the crossroads in my career - do I continue making $$$ while working for soul-less big corporations where a 65 hour work week was considered "slacking" or do I follow my passion, go back to school and take a different career path?
It was a big decision to make and I wasn't getting any younger. Hubby said go for it but I was overwhelmed with all that would have to change.
At the suggestion of a colleague, I made an appointment to see Dr. Sunny about this life transition. In addition to the typical family drama psychology, she is a life coach/career coach with a focus
