We went to this doctor having great experience with Vision Source in the past. My wife’s vision prescription is high so her contacts were deemed medically necessary by our previous doctor (another Vision Source). When we went to the doctor, they started they don’t do that. When I complained and put in a poor review, they magically were able to. Now we went to have them order the prescription and they are stating that my insurance had denied the claim. When I contacted my insurance to find out why, it turns out they never even submitted the claim to order the contacts. This office is HORRIBLE

I have not been happy with this place for a couple of years. They charge $130 more than my $25 copay, which isn’t acceptable. One of the assistants, Paige, doesn’t handle patient requests in a professional manner. The owner of this franchise would be very embarrassed and shocked if they knew how things are run here. I was prescribed a $750/monthly eye solution and after refusing to spend that much and requesting a less expensive alternative (which I researched myself), their representative said the eye practitioner would likely not change the prescription. Still waiting for a response on that

OMG what a bad upsell experience. I have VSP insurance, made a point when making the appointment that I was only interested in coming in for what my insurance pays for, made this point again when I showed up for the appointment, and the office worker said everything was covered by insc. Great experience with their eye doc, no concerns there. Then the horrific experience, they tried to upsell $181 worth of upgrades on a single vision lenses and repeatedly accused me of damaging my eyes if I did not pay for these upgrades. Then when I was leaving they charged me $35 to cover part of the exam that

I’ve been coming to this location for almost 15 years, and yesterday was my last time! I scheduled my appointments for me and my kids, I was told if there was any issues with the insurance I would receive a call. I get to the appointment after pulling my kids from school and was told that they couldn’t get glasses until a later date. I canceled their appointments and was told I’d have to pay a cancellation fee. However I was never called like I was told I’d be. My 92 year old mother was experiencing blurry vision. Dr. Gertz discovered she has age-related macular degeneration which is an inherited condition. The condition cannot be reversed but recommended a specific eye vitamin that her five children should begin taking now to help prevent or minimize the condition if they inherited this eye disease. Well done, Dr. Gertz!

If you need glasses or contacts, this is the place to go. Dr. Gerdts takes plenty of time to measure, calculate and manipulate the eyes to bring the world into focus. His staff were very attentive and helpful in selecting the correct frame and lenses for my use. Having not worn glasses in 40 years, I didn't know what to choose. They were patient allowing me to try on various frames to find the perfect look and fit for my face. I could not ask for better service.
