Heather has been with our practice for almost 5 years now. She serves as both an office manager, and the right hand to Dr. Pravda for the preliminary assessments during our patient's eye exams. Heather has a long history of serving our patient base and enjoys working with Dr. Elvis daily. As our patients know very well, there is never a dull moment!
Dr. Jay S. Pravda is an honor graduate of the University of Houston College of Optometry. A native Houstonian, he has been in practice for 44 years. As a therapeutic optometrist, Dr. Pravda can treat many eye conditions as well as prescribe eyeglasses and contact lenses. In addition to receiving an accurate prescription, it is his caring attitude and sense of humor that keep his patients coming back.
For more than a quarter of century, Dr. Jay Pravda and his friendly staff have been caring for the eye care needs of the Humble and Kingwood community and its surrounding environs. The most frequently prescribed due to the degree of comfort that they provide. Soft contacts are now available for patients with astigmatism and dry eyes and can even change the color of your eyes. Color Changing - can change the color of your eyes even if vision correction is not needed. Also called rigid or gas-permeable lenses, hard contact lenses offer sharper vision and can correct nearsightedness or astigmatism.
Nearsightedness (myopia) is a common vision condition in which you can see objects near to you more clearly, than objects far away. The degree of your nearsightedness determines your ability to focus on distant objects. People with severe nearsightedness can see clearly only objects just a few inches away, while those with mild nearsightedness may clearly see objects several yards away.

Dr. Pravda is an amazing doctor and I recommend him completely but his office staff is another subject. At the end of 2017 I went to Dr. Pravda at his temporary location in Atascocita. I know that after Harvey he lost most, if not all, of his office staff; all of whom were really awesome. Approximately one month ago I called the office to get my contact prescription mailed to me because I live an hour away and my days off are when the office is closed. Alexia (or Alexa?) answered the phone and when I requested it be mailed she said she would take care of it. A week later and no prescription I called

I'm trying to patient but I have reached the end of my rope. I ordered and paid for my glasses Nov 27, 2017 and have had to go back three times for problems. I still do not have a pair of glasses Jan 10, 2018. This is crazy and they act like its not their problem. The first time in the staff broke my brand new glasses. The next time one Len was transgression the other was not. The doctor was not very professional either.

Dr. Pravda is awesome. I've been going here for 15 years now. He always question my want for colored contact lenses and he'll tell you straight up that clear is better, but hey, I'm stubborn and appreciate his honesty.
I've never had a problem going here, the waiting isn't long, the staff are great. Will continue to go here and will refer.

Dr. Pravda and his staff are excellent. Every year I'm glad I found this great place instead of driving an hour to my old spot. Dr. Pravda always has the latest eye equipment to check your eyes and is VERY knowledge.I love our talks. The ladies that work the front desk are stellar. I love them to death. They are very helpful and sweet. They also have a great collection of eye wear to pick from.

I would give them 10 Stars if I could. Charlotte, Heather and Lina are all super friendly and super helpful. I went though all the eye test and everything was setup so it was non stressful. Then Dr Pravda took his time to make sure my prescription was correct and very accurate. When my glasses came in and I went to get them I was shocked to actually be able to see. I became accustomed to have non sharp vision so when I put on my glasses and saw very clearly with great detail I was very happy. When driving home in the dark all the road signs were very crisp, my glasses over the last decade left

When i called and made my appointment I was told it would take 40 minutes. Thus I showed up for 1000 appointment at 0950, filled out paperwork and was sitting waiting by 0959 at 1017 the tech called me for some test that took until 1025 then back to waiting until 1042 for the doc. He was professional and took care of my problems with my aging eyes. Every thing was done by 1110.
